    This is a recording of two men, Awal and Ipin by Ipin's house in the village of Pondok Perasi. Ipin is a 59 year old man who is married to a woman from the same village. Awal is a 43 year old man who who is also married to a woman from Pondok Prasi. Both speakers never lived outside the island. They are talking about their work and experience as two different types of fishermen. Awal catches fish while Ipin catches crabs. Leah Pappas assisted with the recording.     Upin ipin adalah sebuah serial anak-anak yang berasal dari Malaysia. Serial kartun ini sanga disukai oleh anak-anak, dan bahkan tidak jarang oang dewasa ikut menontonnya. Film upin ipin sendiri dibuat oleh Mohd Nizam Bin Abdul Razak, Muhd Safwan Abdul Karim, dan Usamah Zaid Bin Yasin pemilik Les’ Copaque pada tanggal 14 September 2007., Mereka membuat film Upin dan Ipin dengan maksud ingin mendidik anak-anak melalui contoh-contoh dalam film upin ipin supaya dapat mengerti serta menghayati bulan Ramadhan. dalam kartun upin dan ipin banyak sekali unsur-unsur dakwah yang diselipkan dalam setiap episode-nya. Kemudian penulis menganalisis pesan-pesan dakwah yang ada dalam kartun upin dan ipin sebagai pembentukan akhlak bagi anak muslim special episode ramadhan, bagaimana lambing atau tanda yang ditampilkan dalam film upin ipin dan apa saja pesan dakwah yang terkandung dalam film upin dan ipin. Dalam penelitian ini, pendekatan penelitian kualitatif karena peneliti ingin memperoleh deskripsi secara langsung yaitu penelitian data yang diperoleh dari CD film upin ipin dan ipin, sumber data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan sekunder. Metode dalam pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah menonton fim upin ipin, kajian pustaka. Kemudian menganalisis data yang diperoleh dengan cara mendeskripsikan hasil dari penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang yang telah dilakukan, Film kartun upin dan ipin dalam serial ramadhan terdapat banyak sekali pesan-pesan dakwah yang mudah dipahami oleh penonton khususnya anak-anak dan juga bisa gunakan sebagai referensi untuk orang tua dalam mendidik anak-anaknya. menebarkan salam dan lain sebagainya. Kedua pesan dakwah terkait dengan Akhlak. Pesan dakwah yang disampaikan dalam kartun upin dan ipin tentang akhlak meliputi: kejujuran, toleransi, cinta dan kasih sayang. Pengertian dari jujur adalah Berlaku sesuai dengan apa adanya dan tidak berbohong dan berlaku bathil dalam segala urusan, dalam ber-mua’amalah (hubungan jual beli dan kemasyarakatan). Toleransi atau Tasamuh yaitu suatu sikap bersedia dalam menerima segala keanekaragaman pendapat, kebiasaan serta adat-istiadat yang juga dihayati oleh orang lain.     Penelitian ini bertolak dari banyaknya film animasi yang beredar di Indonesia, namun hanya segelintir yang mengedepankan aspek pendidikan dan moderasi beragama kepada anak-anak Salah satu film yang mengandung nilai pendidikan moderasi beragama adalah film animasi Upin Ipin. Upin Ipin merupakan film animasi yang termasuk dalam sastra anak, peneliti memilih film animasi Upin Ipin sebab dapat dijadikan media pembelajaran, sehingga dalam proses pembelajaran film berfungsi sebagai media yang dapat mengarahkan peserta didik pada saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai pendidikan moderasi beragama yang terkandung di dalam film animasi Upin Ipin. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini, yaitu: apa saja nilai-nilai pendidikan moderasi beragama pada film Animasi Upin Ipin. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode library research sebagai metode penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menggali informasi melalui penelitian sebelumnya dan memanfaatkan kepustakaan baik secara manual maupun online. Sumber primer yaitu rekaman video film Animasi Upin Ipin produksi Les Copaque serta adegan yang mengandung nilai-nilai moderasi beragama, juga berbagai sumber lainnya sebagai data sekunder. Sedangkan teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu teknik analisis isi (content analysis), yaitu dengan memutar film Animasi Upin Ipin untuk diamati hal-hal yang berkenan dengan moderasi beragama. Kemudian peneliti menganalisis skenario dan dialog maupun isi dari film, serta dihubungkan dengan teori-teori yang relevan Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa di dalam film Animasi Upin Ipin terdapat nilai-nilai pendidikan moderasi beragama yang terdiri dari: 1) Nilai tawassuth, mengandung adegan berkomunikasi menggunakan bahasa yang santun, 2) Nilai tawazun, mengandung adegan melaksanakan sholat, melaksanakan ibadah puasa Ramadhan dan adegan kegiatan sehari-hari Upin Ipin, 3) Nilai i’tidal, mengandung adegan mematuhi kewajiban dan menegakkan kebenaran, 4) Nilai tasamuh, mengandung adegan toleransi 5) Nilai musawah 6) Nilai ishlah 7) Nilai aulawiyah, mengandung adegan nilai ibadah sholat, ibadah puasa dan menebarkan salam, serta 8) Nilai tahadhdhur, mengandung adegan tentang etika. ABSTRACT Based on a lot of animation movie that spreads in Indonesia, although just a few of them that concern the movie animation on education and religious aspects for children. One of them is animation movie Upin-Ipin. Upin-Ipin is the animation movie that is included by children’s linguistic, the researcher choose Upin-Ipin movie because it can be applied as media of students learning, so that it can direct students while learning process.This study aimed to describe the educational values of religious moderation in animation movie Upin-Ipin. The research problems of the study were: what did the educational values of religious moderation that contain in animation movie Upin-Ipin. The researcher used library research as a research method that aimed to know the information toward previous research and both manual and online literature. The primer resource was the video recording of the animation movie Upin-Ipin which was produced by Les Copaque, also the scene that included the values of religious moderation, and the other resource as secondary data. While the analyzing data technique was content analysis which was meant to play the animation movie Upin-Ipin to investigate the points that related to religious moderation. Then, the researcher analyzes the scenario and dialog of it and connected it to the relevant theories. The result of this study showed that there were the educational values of religious moderation in animation movie Upin-Ipin, they were 1) Tawassuth value, it contained the scene of the way of having polite communication, 2) Tawazum value, it contained the scene of the implementation of prayer, fasting on Ramadhan month, and daily activities of Upin-Ipin, 3) I’tidal value, it contained the scene to obey the obligation, and uphold the truth, 4) Tasamuh value, it contained the scene of tolerances, 5) Musawah value, 6) Ishlah value, 7) Aulawiyah value, it contained the scenes of praying, fasting, and spreading greeting, and 8) Tahadhdhur value, it contained the scene of ethic

    UPIN IPIN ANIMATION: THE MEDIA OF MALAYSIA'S IDENTITY POLITICS

    "Upin Ipin" animation is a popular children's film series in Indonesia, including Denpasar from 2010-2023. The Upin Ipin animation shows the background of a Malaysian village with its own culture, and the characters who play a role in it can represent the Malay-Malaysian identity and the various tribes that exist in Malaysia. The research used qualitative methods, and data were analyzed using discourse analysis theory and ideology theory. The results show that the issue of Malay-Malaysian identity plays a role in the production of Upin Ipin animation. The identity is visualized through the characters in the story, along with the environment that considers the socio-cultural background of the local Malaysian community. The construction of the environment, socio-cultural life, religion and culture, and language represent the Malaysian identity. This article contributes to the understanding that Upin Ipin animation is not just entertainment but a medium to introduce the Malay-Malaysian cultural identity.     Film animasi Upin & Ipin merupakan film animasi yang berasal dari Malaysia yang sangat populer dinegara asalnya hingga ke Indonesia,kartun ini mengisahkan tentang dua anak kembar berusia 5 tahun yang tinggal bersama neneknya, yang biasa dipanggil Mak Uda atau Opah dan kakak perempuannya bernama Ros. Film Animasi Upin & Ipin ini banyak mengandung pesan-pesan moral dan banyak memberikan pemahaman tentang agama islam untuk anak-anak. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah bagaimana Representasi pesan moral dalam film animasi Upin & Ipin. Penelitian ini bertjuan untuk mengetahui tanda dan makna yang digunakan untuk menyampaikan pesan moral islam dalam film animasi Upin dan Ipin. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis semiotika yang membahas makna tanda atau lambang atau simbol,dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang menekankan pada pendekatan kritis. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah menyaksikan dan mendokumentasikan film animasi Upin dan Ipin secara langsung. Dalam analisis data penulis menggunakan sistem denotasi dan konotasi yang dikemukakan oleh Roland Barthes. Hasil dari penelitan yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam film animasi Upin & Ipin terdapat adegan yang mengandung pesan terhadap nilai-nilai moral ditunjukan dari simbol-simbol sosial yang ditampilkan melalui sikap, aksi, dan dialog dalam film ini seperti Upin&Ipin bergegas pulang kerumah untuk shalat ketika mendengarkan suara adzan, melaksanakan shalat di masjid, ikut berpuasa, dan memberikan sejumlah uang kepada seseorang untuk bayar zakat.
