    ABSTRACT Yon Mariono. 2017. Thesis. "Internal Imagery of the 5 Tower Novels by Ahmad Fuadi". This research is entitled Citraan in the novel Negeri 5 Menara by Ahmad Fuadi. The problems studied in this thesis: (1) How are the images related to the human senses or the five senses contained in the novel Negeri 5 Menara by Ahmad Fuadi?. The theory that the researcher uses to analyze this research is the theory of Burhan Nurgiyantoro (2014). This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method and applying hermeneutic technique. The type of research used is library research. This research is useful to add references to literary studies, especially literary criticism. The practical benefit of this research is that it can provide input to the author himself in particular, as well as various other parties in writing scientific papers, especially those related to imagery in the story. The theoretical benefits of this research contribute to the development of literary theories and also apply and deepen research from the literary aspect. After analyzing the results, the researchers found that the images contained in the novel Negeri 5 Menara by Ahmad Fuadi are visual imagery, auditory imagery, motion imagery, tactile imagery and also olfactory imagery. The imagery used by the author Ahmad Fuadi is an attempt to express something and tries to bring the reader as if they can see, hear, or feel what is in the author's words

Specifically the object of this material is the novel Anak Rantau by Ahmad Fuadi. This research uses structural theory and the theory of sociology of literature which is elaborated with descriptive method. The purpose of this study is to explain the intrinsic elements of the novel Anak Rantau and reveal the value of moral education in the novel Anak Rantau. Structural theory is used to expose intrinsic elements of characters, plots, backgrounds, themes and mandates in the novel Anak Rantau. While to analyze the value of moral education in novels Anak Rantau, the author uses the theory of sociology of literature in particular moral education values that exist in the novel Anak Rantau. The results of the structural analysis of the Anak Rantau novel by Ahmad Fuadi contained eighteen characters consisting of the main characters, Hepi and seventeen subordinate figures. The flow used in Anak Rantau's novel is straight or progressive, in terms of the background in the novel it is divided into three, namely the place, time and social background. The theme and mandate contained in it are overseas sweet bitter. The results of this study are presented as a whole using the theory of literary sociology is to show some values of moral education contained in the novel Anak Rantau by Ahmad Fuadi which includes preserving the culture of Minang, preserving the environment,cooperation, helping, determination and commitment, drug prohibition , forgiving and classifying each other, the responsibilities shown by the actions and behavior of the characters in the Anak Rantau novel

Key Words: affix, derivational affixes Morphological analysis is the main areas in studying vocabulary. Morphological analysis itself is analysis that is breaking a word into its elements (root, prefix and suffix). Meanwhile, derivational affixes is the part of morphological analysis. So, it is important for the students to study about derivational affixes. When the students are able to identify derivational affix, they can develop their vocabulary because from just one word it can gain many words with different part of speech. Novel is a long essay in prose and contains a series of human life stories with others around them with accentuate the character and nature of the actor. The Land of Five Towers Novel by A. Fuadi is a novel inspired by a true story from the author, that is Ahmad Fuadi. Having seeing such phenomenon, the writer found that mastering English is not easy if the students are lack of vocabulary. This research aimed to find out the derivational affixes in The Land of Five Towers Novel by A. Fuadi. This research is descriptive qualitative research where researcher tries to find out the derivational affix and the roots from the words in The Land of Five Towers Novel by A. Fuadi without using statistical calculation. In this research the writer uses all of words that are attached prefix and suffix as the data. The data source is all the chapters which are the beginning of the story, rising the case and the solution in The Land of Five Towers Novel by A. Fuadi. The result of analyzing data were gained the derivational affixes that found in The Land of Five Towers Novel by A. Fuadi are en- (11), in- (5), un- (11), a- (2), ¬non- (3), re- (2), im- (2) as prefixes, while the suffixes are –ly (229), -able (18), -er (52), -al (53), -ous (28), -ate (2), -cy (3), -y (34), -ee (1), –tion (73), -ion (14), -ize (6), -ship (3), -ment (26), -ism (3), -ist (1), -en (9), -ful (27), -age (2), -tic (16), -ish (2), -ary (8), -cent (2), -ive (13), -ance (7), -less (5), -ence (9), -ity (22), -ant (2), -or (11), -ness (19), -ure (3), -fy (3). In The Land of Five Towers Novel by A. Fuadi, the roots from the words that has been classified based on the part of speech are 199 (adjective), 188 (noun), 266 (verb). From the conclusion of this research, the writer suggests that to improve their mastery of vocabulary, the readers should be apply the derivational affixes by breaking the word into its elements root and affixes because from one word they can get the structure of words and they also find how the words built. By knowing the roots, the readers can build the word by themselves

    Penulisan Tugas Akhir Karya Seni ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konsep penciptaan karya seni lukis meliputi tema, teknik, dan bentuk dengan kontemplasi konflik diri sebagai ide dasar penciptaan. Penciptaan lukisan ini menggunakan pendekatan seni lukis abstrak. Penggunaan pendekatan abstrak untuk menyampaikan pesan emosi melalui goresan, cipratan, lelehan, dan tekstur yang spontan dan ekspresif dengan memperhatikan keseimbangan komposisi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penciptaan karya seni lukis ini meliputi eksplorasi, berupa penggalian ide dilakukan dengan mencari referensi, melakukan pengamatan, pemilihan teknik, alat, dan bahan yang digunakan. Selanjutnya tahap eksperimentasi dan improvisasi dilakukan dengan membuat karya sketsa pada kertas dan teknik crop untuk melatih kepekaan rasa dan menemukan komposisi yang menarik melalui warna dan goresan. Tahap terakhir adalah pembentukan (forming) dilakukan spontan pada kanvas. Hasil dari tahap eksperimen tentunya akan berbeda dan mengalami pengembangan-pengembangan ketika eksekusi di kanvas. Konsep dari penciptaan ini berupa kontemplasi atau perenungan atas konflik diri yang dialami dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tema yang diangkat adalah hal-hal atau sesuatu yang menimbulkan sensitifitas rasa atau langsung menyentuh perasaan, seperti perasaan senang, keterharuan, marah, terasing, kecewa, bahagia, gelisah dan lain sebagainya. Secara keseluruhan, teknik yang digunakan dalam penciptaan ini adalah teknik basah. Sedangkan teknik goresan pallet, teknik brush stroke, teknik aquarel, teknik pallete mess, teknik lelehan, dan teknik cipratan merupakan subteknik dalam proses penciptaan. Bentuk dari karya-karya penciptaan ini merupakan bentuk murni abstrak ekspresionistik atau non objektif yang tersusun dari unsur-unsur rupa yang ada seperti goresan, warna, tekstur, bidang, ruang, cipratan, dan lelehan.     ABSTRACT- Based on theoretical of thinking, methodologies, and all methods that has inhabited at realm of critical theory paradigm, a study titled "WACANA PENDIDIKAN PONDOK PESANTREN GONTOR” (a Critical Discourse Analysis at Novel Negeri 5 Menara’s text that has wrotten by Ahmad Fuadi at the Educational Discourse on Gontor Boarding Schools) as an analysis discourse. This research attempts to understood how the practical involved ideology, propagated to be a new cultural discourse within at social structure and be reproduced through the novel text. With the epistemological assumption to understanding a reality that always bridged by certain values (value mediated finding), Critical Discourse Analysis type had used as the discourse analysis. This analysis has been stand upon a subjective approach, which has reality and social science without an objective nature, but interpretative. The language usage deemed contain a hidden message (latent), and tended the ideological consequences to the comunicators. Critical discourse analysis was a holistical and subjective. Critical discourse analysis, trying to saw the values that being to be foundation statement of a communicator. These values are the morality concern of critical discourse analysis, as well as the basic axiological through emancipatory principles, critique, transformation, or even social reinforcement. This study raised issues about the Islamic Educational discourse at Novel Gontor Negeri 5 Menaras Text of Ahmad Fuadi. The focus of the statement is how Ahmad Fuadi construct discourse at words building and sentences. And how language and symbols used to representing the intention of novel. Each word and sentence that use to interpreted show an ideological practice. This refers to the offered analysis by Roger Fowler et al. In this novel there are discourses that emerged as the educational curriculum at the Gontor boarding house, educational methods to teach, discipline, and Modeling as a motivation form. After the analyzed by Fowler et al CDA model, it showed that the words and phrases that used by Ahmad Fuadi in his story was tell or even more likely to the educational side that is taught at Gontor Boarding School. Fuadi was telling how the curriculum has much different from public schools, with teaching methods that more intensive, high discipline and to provide motivation with an exemplary with the support to the educational in words and sentences provocate, persuade, propaganded, and subjective. It’s caused that Fuadi has backgrounds education and “nyantri” at Gontor. With his obtained results with the achievement of science that continues and flew was usefully in a variety of his life. Here, the ideological form practices of the author has been played. ABSTRAK-Atas dasar pemikiran teoritikal, metodologi, serta metode yang mendiami ranah paradigma teori-teori kritis, penelitian yang berjudul “Wacana Pendidikan Pondok Pesantren Gontor (Sebuah Studi Critical Discourse Analysis terhadap Teks Novel Negeri 5 Menara karya Ahmad Fuadi dalam Wacana Pendidikan Pondok Pesantren Gontor ) merupakan sebuah tipe analisis wacana. Penelitian ini mencoba memahami bagaimana praktek ideologi dilibatkan, di propagandakan dan menjadi wacana budaya baru di dalam suatu struktur sosial yang dijalankan dan direproduksi melalui teks novel. Dengan asumsi epistemologis bahwa pemahaman kepada suatu realitas selalu di jembatani oleh nilai-nilai tertentu (value mediated finding), maka tipe analisis wacana yang dipakai, yaitu Critical Discourse Analysis. Analisis ini berdiri di atas pendekatan subjektif, yang memiliki bahwa realitas dan atau pengetahuan sosial tidak memiliki sifat yang obyektif, melainkan interpretatif. Penggunaan tiap bahasa dianggap mengandung pesan tersembunyi (laten), serta cenderung membawa konsekuensi ideologis komunikatornya. Analisis wacana kritis bersifat holistik dan subyektif. Analisis wacana kritis, berupaya melihat nilai-nilai yang mendasari pernyataan seorang komunikator. Nilai-nilai itu yang menjadi moral concern analisis wacana kritis, sekaligus menjadi dasar aksiologis lewat prinsip-prinsip emansipatoris, kritik, transformasi, atau pun penguat sosial. Penelitian ini mengangkat permasalahan tentang wacana Pendidikan Pondok Pesantren Gontor dalam Teks Novel Negeri 5 Menara karya Ahmad Fuadi. Fokus pernyataannya adalah bagaimana Ahmad Fuadi mengkonstruksikan wacana tersebut dalam bangunan kata dan kalimat. Serta bagaimana bahasa dan simbol yang digunakan dalam merepresentasikan maksud dari novel. Tiap kata dan kalimat yang dipergunakan dimaknai menunjukkan sebuah praktek ideologi. Hal ini mengacu pada analisis yang ditawarkan Roger Fowler dkk. Dalam novel ini terdapat wacana-wacana yang muncul seperti Kurikulum pendidikan di Pondok Pesantren Gontor, Metode pendidikan dalam praktek pengajaran, Disiplin, dan Keteladanan sebagai bentuk dari motivasi. Setelah dianalisis dengan CDA model Fowler dkk.diperoleh hasil bahwa kata-kata dan kalimat yang di pakai oleh Ahmad Fuadi, dalam bercerita cenderung atau bahkan lebih berpihak pada pendidikan yang diajarkan di Pondok Pesantren Gontor. Fuadi menceritakan bagaimana kurikulum yang jauh berbeda dengan sekolah umum, dengan metode- metode pengajaran yang lebih intensif, disiplin tinggi dan dengan memberikan motivasi dan atau keteladanan seta dukungan penuh terhadap pendidikan dalam kata-kata dan kalimat provokatif, persuasif, propagandis, dan subyektif. Disebabkan Fuadi mempunyai latar belakang pernah belajar dan nyantri di Pesantren Gontor. Dengan hasil yang di perolehnya sekarang dan pencapaian ilmu yang terus mengalir yang sangat bermanfaat dalam berbagai kehidupannya. Disinilah, bentuk praktek ideologi pengarang telah bermain

    Masalah dari Penelitian ini adalah rendahnya pemahaman siswa dalam penguasaan bangun datar layang-layang dan belah ketupat rendah. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatan pemahaman siswa dalam penguasaan materi bangun datar layang-layang dan bela ketupat pada pembelajaran matematika melalui metode guided note taking pada siswa kelas IV SD N 1 Bangunrejo tahun ajaran 2011/2012.Penelitian ini termasuk termasuk Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Dalam melakukan proses pembelajaran guru dapat memilih dan menggunakan beberapa metode mengajar. Subjek yang memberikan tindakan yaitu peneliti sebagai guru,sedangkan subjek yang menerima tindakan yaitu siswa kelas IV. Metode pengumpulan data adalah observasi, wawancara, catatan lapangan, dokumentasi, dan test. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu dengan cara menganalisis data perkembangan siswa dari siklus I sampai siklus II. Pada aspek kognitif sebelum tindakan didapat rata-rata nilai siswa sebesar 55,96, rata-rata siklus I meningkat menjadi 68,46, rata-rata siklus II meningkat menjadi 80,11, Sedangkan pada aspek afektif rata-rata siklus I sebesar 20,19, rata-rata siklus II meningkat menjadi 26,78. Dengan penerapan guided note taking dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam penguasaan bangun datar layang-layang dan belah ketupat

Jacket cooling fresh water merupakan salah satu permesinan bantu dan peralatan penting yang ada di atas kapal. Jacket cooling berfungsi sebagai selimut silinder liner yang didalamnya berupa air tawar dengan temperatur tertentu yang digunakan untuk menyerap panas yang dihasilkan oleh pembakaran didalam silinder. Sebuah penukar panas jenis multitubular digunakan untuk menghilangkan panas dari pendingin. Jacket cooling. Salah satu bagian penting adalah oring connecting jacket yang berfungsi sebagai perekat antara jacket cooling dengan cylinder head agar air pendingin dapat bersirkulasi dalam melakukan pendinginan mesin induk. Setelah dilakukan penelitian menggunakan metode Hazop dan USG (Urgency, Seriusness dan Growth). Penyebab kebocoran pada jacket cooling fresh water adalah kerusakan pada komponen-komponen sistem pendingnan tertutup adalah, pipa, air tawar, pompa, oring connecting jacket. Hasil penelitian mengacu pada kerusakan salah satu komponen tersebut yaitu oring connecting jacket, hal ini mengakibatkan pendingin air tawar keluar dari sistem pendinginan tertutup. Oleh karena itu perawatan dan perbaikan yang teratur dan sistematis pada komponen-komponen tersebut terutama oring connecting jacket sangat mutlak diperlukan agar sistem pendinginan tertutup bekerja optimal. Jacket cooling fresh water is one of the auxiliary machinery and equipment it is important that there is on board. Jacket cooling serves as a blanket cylinder liner which is inside in the form of fresh water with a certain temperature which is used to absorb the heat generated by combustion in the cylinder. A multitubular heat exchanger type used to dissipate heat from the refrigerant. Jacket cooling One important part is the oring connecting jacket that serves as an adhesive between the cooling jacket with the cylinder head so that the cooling water can circulate in the conduct of the parent engine cooling. After the research is done using methods of Hazop and ultrasound (Urgency, Seriusness and Growth). The cause of the leak in fresh water cooling jacket is damage to the components of the closed cooling system, fresh water, pipes, pumps, oring connecting jacket. The research refers to damage to one of the components namely oring connecting jacket, this results in cooling fresh water out of the closed cooling system. Therefore maintenance and repair are regularly and systematically on these components primarily oring connecting jacket very is absolutely necessary in order for a closed cooling system works optimally.     Dikdik Ahmad Fuadi (14111330138) EXPLORING EFL LEARNERS’ READING STRATEGIES ON COMPREHENDING TEXTBOOKS This study was primarily intended to capture reading strategies in comprehending textbook generally used by EFL Learners in reading activities; pre reading, during reading, and post reading. The investigation itself was centered around reading strategies by Grabe and Stoller (2002), bloom taxonomy by Anderson and Krathwohl (2001), and level comprehension by Westwood (2001). This study tries to reveal how EFL learners‟ reading strategies in comprehending textbooks of „Pokoknya Menulis‟, „Pokoknya Rekayasa Literasi‟ and „Islam, Culture, and Education‟ by Alwasilah. Consequently, the study is positioned into a qualitative research using interview, questionnaire, and document analysis. The result shows that EFL Learners tend to use different strategies in approaching the text, comprehending the text, and re-checking their level of comprehension. (1) There are three strategies for approaching the text: specifying a purpose for reading, previewing the text, and predicting the content. Bloom taxonomy refers to this as remembering which the level of comprehension is literal level. (2) There are eight strategies for comprehending text: posing question, connecting text to background knowledge, summarizing information, making inference, connecting one part of text to another, rereading, guessing the meaning of the new word from the context, and identifying difficulties. Bloom taxonomy refers to this as understanding, applying, and analysing which level of comprehension can be inferential and critical levels. (3) In re-checking their comprehension, they use five strategies: finding answer, checking comprehension, critiquing the author, critiquing the text, and reflecting on what has been learned from the text.
