    No full text
Secondary metabolites such as phenolic and flavonoid from the plant are essential in their activity, especially activities related to the prevention of oxidation and the inhibition of xanthine oxidase. One plant that is believed to have prevention of oxidation and XOI and correlates with secondary metabolites is parang romang. The purpose of this study is to assess the antioxidant capacity and xanthine oxidase inhibitory activities of parang romang, and to examine their relationship with the TPC and TFC. Total phenolic and flavonoid were measured for all parts, and the DPPH, FRAP, and CUPRAC methods determined antioxidant capacity. The activity of xanthine oxidase inhibition was also assessed. Flavonoids, alkaloids, and coumarin were found in parang romang. The steroid/triterpenoid was found in the stem, leaves, and flower; saponin was in the roots and flower; quinone and tannin were only in the roots. The root gave the highest of TPC, while the flower had the highest TFC. The highest antioxidant capacity was found in roots, leaves, flowers, and stems. The highest xanthine oxidase inhibitory was given by leaves (9.74±0.14 µg/ml), followed by flower, steam, and rood. The correlation was shown between the phenolic and flavonoid quantities and the actions of antioxidants and xanthine oxidase inhibitors

RESPONSIBILITY FOR EXECUTION LAW OF MOTOR VEHICLES BASED ON ACT NO.42 OF 1999 CONCERNING FIDUSIAN GUARANTEE

    No full text
A fiduciary guarantee is a non-possession guarantee, where the collateral is still in the debtor\u27s hands. At present fiduciary guarantees are not only used in banks, but many financial institutions also use fiduciary guarantees. Fiduciary collateral is not only used as collateral in debts, but is also used in buying and selling. As for buying and selling that is not done in cash where the remaining unpaid purchase price is agreed as debt payable, it is possible to guarantee the repayment of the debt with fiduciary collateral for the goods being traded. In buying and selling using fiduciary collateral, it is considered to have been completed even though the payment has not been made as a whole. So, in this case it can be seen that fiduciary collateral is used as a debt of trade receivables or buying and selling. Thus, the use of fiduciary guarantees in financial institutions moves writers to conduct research on law responsibilities for the execution of motor vehicles based on Act No.42 of 1999 concerning fiduciary guarantees. The problem to be discussed is about how the execution of motor vehicles based on Act No. 42 of 1999 and also how the law responsibility for the execution of motor vehicles based on Act No. 42 of 1999. In this paper, the author uses normative research methods, where this research method uses data from the library and also from the law as reference material in analyzing problems in aspects of the issue being studied. Based on the results of the discussion, it can be concluded that the execution process was carried out due to default of the debtor to the creditor in the fiduciary guarantee agreement. In the execution of fiduciary security objects, it can be done by waiting for a decision from the court, but creditors can also carry out the execution, if the fiduciary agreement has been made an agreement between the two parties agreeing with each other. Keywords: Responsibility, Motor Vehicles, and Fiduciary Guarantee

Split smart messages: middleware for pervasive computing on smart phones

    No full text
Smart Phone is a recently emerged technology that supports Java program execution and provides both short-range wireless connectivity (Bluetooth/IrDA) and Internet connectivity (GPRS/3G). Smart Phones represent the first viable ubiquitous computing devices because they are becoming an integral part of our daily life. Although these phones are closed systems with limited resources, we believe that a multitude of distributed applications in which Smart Phones act as peers in ad hoc networks can be developed. To realize the potential, there is a need for a middleware that supports such applications and a systematic study of the communication/ computation trade-offs. The middleware should provide functionality to support service execution, discovery and migration and should be able to score well on three criteria: portability, security, and performance. To achieve this goal, we have implemented and evaluated Split Smart Messages (SSM), a lightweight middleware architecture similar to mobile agents, that exploits dual connectivity on Smart Phones. Services can be executed, discovered, and migrated on top of the SSM middleware. To facilitate portability, we have designed an execution migration scheme that works on top of unmodified Java virtual machines. To improve upon security while preserving performance, code is uploaded to and downloaded from a trusted web server, while data and state are transferred across the local network. We have implemented an SSM prototype on Sony Ericsson P800/P900 Smart Phones and compared its performance with that achieved on HP iPAQ PDAs.Technical report DCS-TR-56

Banana Blood Diseases (BBD) caused by Ralstonia syzygii subsp. celebesensis (Rsc) is an important disease affecting banana plant production in Indonesia. Various controls have been applied such as the use of bactericides, sanitation, biological agents and removal of male flowers, however those approaches have not been able to suppress the development of this disease. This pathogen controlling bacteriophage has been applied to control several soil-borne diseases, however, studies of the potential for bacteriophages to control blood disease in banana plants caused by Rsc have not been widely reported. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential for bacteriophages to control blood diseases in banana plants caused by Rsc. The research was conducted in February - September 2020 at the Plant Disease Laboratory and screen house of the USU Faculty of Agriculture, the UNIMED Biology Laboratory and the USU FMIPA Genetics Laboratory. The results of the in-vitro study showed that there were 4 bacteriophages (ɸBTF1, ɸBTF2, ɸBTF3 ɸBTF4) which had the potential to control Rsc and the identification results showed that ɸBTF 1 was identifed as Myoviridae family, ɸBTF 2 was identifed as Podoviridae family, ɸBTF 3 was identifed as Leviviridae family and ɸBTF 4 was identifed as Siphoviridae family. Results of in-vivo research with the application of F0+ (virulent Rsc), F0- (sterile water), F1 (Rsc applied by ɸBTF1 + Rsc virulent), F2 (Rsc applied by ɸBTF2 + Rsc virulent), F3 (Rsc applied by ɸBTF3 + virulent Rsc) and F4 (Rsc was applied by ɸBTF4 + Rsc virulent) showed that the treatment of bacteriophage was able to control Rsc by observing the lowest disease incident and severity value in F3 treatment was 0%, the best incubation period in F3 treatment which did not cause symptoms from the beginning to the end of the study. The lowest AUDPC value was in F3 treatment which was 0. The dry weight value of F3 treatment was 41,5 g, which was higher than F0-(34,6 g); therefore bacteriophage could increase plant defense and banana plant growth. Indoor Localization Techniques for Smart Building Environment

    No full text
Abstract“Knowing the Location” and “Determining the Location” are the essential requirements of constructing a smart building. GPS technology, which is often used for the purpose of positioning, cannot be used efficiently while performing position detection indoors because of the losses occurring in the signal propagation. At the same time, the object of sensors, Bluetooth, IrDA and RFID devices which are commonly used in a building, and bandwidth constraints makes such location detection more difficult because of possible energy consumption and limited memory capacity. Since WiFi technology which will probably be used in nearly all Smart Buildings, Indoor localization algorithms have been surveyed and requirements which are essential for obtaining Internet of Things (IoT) technology have been researched, and a context-based approach for a Smart Building which has got IoT structure is proposed
