Psycholinguistic Strategies for Talent Regeneration in Arabic Language Education: Insights from Malaysia and Indonesia
Purpose - The application of psycholinguistic strategies in Arabic language education has revealed surprising results, particularly in talent regeneration within Islamic educational institutions in Malaysia and Indonesia. This study explores how immersive environments, contextualized pedagogy, and linguistic scaffolding contribute to nurturing linguistic talent.
Design/methodology/approach - A qualitative research design was employed, involving 60 participants30 from Malaysia and 30 from Indonesiacomprising educators, administrators, and students from prominent institutions such as Maktab Mahmud Yan and Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda’wah. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and institutional document reviews.

Mnemonic dan Muscle Memory dalam Inovasi pembelajaran Marfologi Bahasa Arab (Sharaf) sebagai INSTING
This study aims to explore the effectiveness of mnemonic and muscle memory strategies in Arabic morphology (Sharaf) learning among students at Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda'wah. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to illustrate students' experiences in applying these techniques and to analyze their impact on retention and understanding of morphological patterns. The study involved 30 students aged 16–18 years, utilizing instruments such as observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that mnemonics enhance students' memory retention through creative associations such as acronyms, visualizations, and storytelling. Meanwhile, muscle memory strengthens understanding and automates Sharaf patterns through repetitive physical practice, such as writing and verbalizing patterns. This study proposes a learning model called INSTING (Integration of Mnemonics with Training Systems for Memory and Cognitive Development), which combines cognitive and motor aspects to create more adaptive, holistic, and effective learning. These findings contribute not only to innovation in Arabic language teaching but also offer a strategic approach to improving students' retention, comprehension, and motivation in learning Sharaf.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi efektivitas strategi mnemonic dan muscle memory dalam pembelajaran marfologi (Sharaf) bagi siswa Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda'wah. Pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif digunakan untuk menggambarkan pengalaman siswa dalam menerapkan kedua teknik ini dan menganalisis dampaknya terhadap retensi dan pemahaman pola morfologi. Penelitian melibatkan 30 siswa berusia 16–18 tahun, menggunakan instrumen seperti observasi, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mnemonic meningkatkan daya ingat siswa melalui asosiasi kreatif seperti akronim, visualisasi, dan pembuatan cerita. Sementara itu, muscle memory memperkuat pemahaman dan otomatisasi pola Sharaf melalui latihan fisik berulang seperti menulis dan melafalkan pola. Penelitian ini mengusulkan model pembelajaran yang disebut INSTING (Integrasi Nemonik dengan Sistem Training untuk Ingatan dan Nalar Generasi), yang menggabungkan aspek kognitif dan motorik untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang lebih adaptif, holistik, dan efektif. Hasil penelitian ini tidak hanya memberikan kontribusi terhadap inovasi pembelajaran bahasa Arab, tetapi juga memberikan pendekatan strategis untuk meningkatkan retensi, pemahaman, dan motivasi siswa dalam mempelajari Sharaf
Strategi Efektif Simplifikasi Nahwu dalam Percakapan Arab pada Kelas Intensif Daurah Ramadhan
This study aims to explore effective strategies for simplifying Arabic grammar (nahwu) to enhance maharah kalam (speaking skills) among students participating in the intensive Daurah Ramadhan program at Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda’wah (Dalwa). Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research involved 60 takhassus students from diverse pesantren backgrounds who had prior knowledge of nahwu and sharaf but still struggled with active Arabic conversation. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with both teachers and students, and documentation of teaching materials and student evaluations. The data analysis employed thematic analysis, involving data reduction, categorization of themes, and interpretation of findings. To ensure data validity, triangulation methods were used, including triangulation of sources (comparing data from interviews and observations) and triangulation of methods (combining observation, interviews, and documentation). The findings reveal that simplified grammar instruction—such as recognizing the implicit meaning of "is" in jumlah ismiyyah, applying patterns with "أن", and using "قبل–بعد" structures—significantly boosted students' confidence and fluency in speaking. Moreover, the integration of mnemonic techniques, peer learning, and the jigsaw method strengthened both comprehension and communicative competence in a collaborative and contextual learning environment. This study confirms that grammar simplification is not merely a technical adjustment but a pedagogical strategy that effectively supports communicative-based Arabic language learning
Efektivitas Pembelajaran Kitab Al-Af’al Al-Yaumiyyah pada Daurah Ramadhan di Pon Pes Dalwa
This study explores the effectiveness of Kitab Al-Af’al Al-Yaumiyyah in enhancing Arabic vocabulary acquisition and language proficiency among students during the Daurah Ramadhan program at Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda’wah (Dalwa). Employing a qualitative approach, the research focuses on the experiences of students and instructors, identifying challenges and teaching strategies. The study involved 50 students aged 15-18 years, with a research design encompassing pre-intervention, intervention, and post-intervention phases. The teaching methods included daily vocabulary memorization, group discussions, sentence practice, and daily evaluations. The findings reveal that the book significantly aids students in understanding everyday verbs, reinforcing grammar acquisition, and boosting their confidence in speaking. Despite challenges such as the short duration of the program and the heterogeneity of students' abilities, chunking and mnemonic methods proved effective in facilitating learning. This study offers new insights into the importance of structured materials in intensive learning and is expected to serve as a reference for developing similar programs in other pesantren.Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi efektivitas Kitab Al-Af’al Al-Yaumiyyah dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata dan kemampuan berbahasa Arab santri selama Daurah Ramadhan di Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda’wah (Dalwa). Dengan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini berfokus pada pengalaman santri dan ustaz, serta mengidentifikasi tantangan dan strategi pembelajaran. Lokasi penelitian melibatkan 50 santri berusia 15-18 tahun dengan desain penelitian yang mencakup pra-intervensi, intervensi, dan pasca-intervensi. Metode pembelajaran meliputi hafalan harian, diskusi kelompok, praktik kalimat, serta evaluasi harian. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa kitab ini secara signifikan membantu santri dalam memahami kata kerja sehari-hari, memperkuat penguasaan gramatika, dan meningkatkan keberanian berbicara. Meskipun terdapat tantangan berupa durasi program yang singkat dan heterogenitas kemampuan santri, metode chunking dan mnemonik terbukti efektif dalam memfasilitasi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan baru tentang pentingnya penggunaan materi terstruktur dalam pembelajaran intensif dan diharapkan menjadi referensi untuk pengembangan program serupa di pesantren lainnya

Digitale Editionsformen müssen auf dem Methodenstand der gedruckten Editionen aufbauen. Hier sind der Lachmannsche Ansatz der Textrekonstruktion und die Verfahren der historisch-kritischen Ausgabe im Laufe der Zeit zwar dominant geworden, aber nicht alternativlos geblieben. Die Kritik an diesen Methoden ist so alt wie diese selbst, und viele andere Schulen haben sich neben ihnen etabliert. Die verschiedenen Ansätze lassen sich als Produkt ihrer Zeit und als Funktion bestimmter theoretischer Grundbegriffe und Grundannahmen beschreiben. Vor allem aber sind sie nicht nur historisch und theoretisch, sondern immer auch "technisch relativ", weil Typografie und Druckkultur unsere Theorien vom Text und unsere Methoden der Edition beeinflussen. Ein Verständnis dieser Abhängigkeit unserer scheinbar "natürlichen" Editionsvorstellungen von einer bestimmten Technik ist ein wichtiger Ausgangspunkt für die Entwicklung neuer Editionsformen
Pedagogical Insights from Al-Mawahib Al-Rabbaniyah: Enhancing Arabic Grammar Learning through the Nazm of Al-Ajrumiyyah
This study explores the pedagogical effectiveness of Nazm Al-Ajrumiyyah and its commentary Al-Mawahib Al-Rabbaniyah in enhancing the learning of Arabic grammar, particularly in the areas of nahwu (syntax) and sharaf (morphology). Utilizing a mixed-method approach, the research involves 200 students from Pon Pes Darullughah Wadda'wah and 100 students from the Arabic Language Education (PBA) department. Quantitative results indicate significant improvement in students' memorization and understanding of grammatical rules after incorporating nazm into their curriculum, with 75% of learners showing enhanced long-term retention. Qualitative findings, based on classroom observations and interviews, reveal that students found the poetic method engaging and effective in simplifying complex grammar concepts. The rhythmic structure of nazm facilitated a more interactive and enjoyable learning experience, while Al-Mawahib Al-Rabbaniyah provided valuable explanations that bridged traditional grammatical rules with contemporary learning needs. The study concludes with recommendations for curriculum development, advocating for the formal integration of nazm in Arabic grammar instruction to improve comprehension and retention
Exploring Arabic Synonyms for Beginner Learners: A Vocabulary-Based Approach
Abstract: This study explores the pedagogical role of synonym-based vocabulary instruction in Arabic language learning for beginner students. Vocabulary is widely recognized as the foundation of second language acquisition, yet the systematic teaching of synonyms has received limited attention in Arabic pedagogy. The aim of this study is to investigate how synonyms can be effectively introduced to novice learners and to assess their impact on lexical competence and communicative readiness. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research was conducted at Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda’wah, Pasuruan, Indonesia, with a focus on 30 newly enrolled students who had minimal prior exposure to Arabic. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and focus group discussions with students, as well as teacher interviews and supporting teaching materials. Thematic analysis, based on Miles and Huberman’s framework, identified three key findings: first, semantic grouping of synonyms such as ???–???, ???–???, and ???–???? enhanced students’ comprehension of nuanced meanings; second, synonym learning improved vocabulary recall by associating multiple words with a single concept; and third, students expressed greater confidence and inclusivity in oral communication when exposed to lexical alternatives. The results confirm that synonym-based instruction is not merely an enrichment activity but a fundamental strategy to deepen lexical knowledge and foster communicative competence at the beginner level. This study contributes to bridging the gap between semantic theory, computational approaches to synonymy, and practical pedagogy, offering practical implications for Arabic curriculum design and classroom practice.
 
Implementation of the Jigsaw Learning Method for Maharah QiroÔÇÖah Learning at MA As-Sholach, Kejeran Boyeman, Gondangwetan, Pasuruan
This study examines the effectiveness of the Jigsaw Learning Method in enhancing student engagement, motivation, and comprehension in Maharah QiroÔÇÖah (Arabic reading) instruction at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) As-Sholach. Traditional methods such as sorogan and direct translation have long been used in pesantren-based Arabic instruction. While these approaches emphasize teacher-centered learning and individual recitation, they often struggle to maintain student engagement and provide limited opportunities for collaborative and active learning. In contrast, the Jigsaw method fosters peer interaction, cooperative knowledge-sharing, and structured learning, potentially addressing the motivation and comprehension gaps found in traditional methods. This study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from structured pre-tests, post-tests, and Likert-scale questionnaires with qualitative insights from classroom observations, student interviews, and teacher feedback. The study involved 107 students from grades XI and XII, divided into Jigsaw learning groups for Maharah QiroÔÇÖah lessons. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed that 93.5% of students found the method effective, with 88.8% reporting increased motivation and 82.2% demonstrating improved comprehension. However, challenges persisted in material suitability (76.6%) and vocabulary retention (76.6%), highlighting areas for instructional refinement. The qualitative findings further reinforce these results, indicating that while the Jigsaw method enhances engagement and peer collaboration, additional support mechanismsÔÇösuch as pre-teaching vocabulary sessions, scaffolding techniques, and continuous teacher trainingÔÇöare needed to optimize learning outcomes. The findings suggest that integrating Jigsaw into pesantren-based education can improve Arabic reading comprehension while making lessons more engaging and student-centered. This research contributes to the growing body of literature on cooperative learning strategies in Islamic education and underscores the potential of structured collaborative methods to enhance Maharah QiroÔÇÖah instruction
