image to differentiate themselves from others. This is important in luring travelers
which will directly affect the development of the hotel itself. This can be achieved
only through the efforts of all elements of the hotel which are divided into several
departments. The front office department, especially, should have good
cooperation among its staffs because the front office has most direct contact with
the guests. The receptionist as a part of the front office department has a large
responsibility as a representative of the hotel which should create a good image.
This paper sets out to describe the job scope of a receptionist at
Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel, Surakarta based on the job training undergone by the
author. The receptionist plays important role in handling the guests’ needs. To
give the best service, a receptionist must have good knowledge about all sectors in
the hotel and also the information external to the hotel related to the guests’ needs.
It is also supported by good and professional grooming based on appropriate hotel
standards.
From the data, one conclusion that can be drawn from this study is
that the job description of a receptionist in Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel includes
various aspects. The receptionists of Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel have a large
responsibility to know the job scope and do it to the best of their ability in order to
build an attractive image of the hotel

Get PDFThis study tries to analyze Fazlur Rahman’s thought on the historical evolution of the sunnah as his response to some orientalists when he was in the West and to muslem scholars who had blamed him when he was in Pakistan. In fact, the study of Prophetic Sunnah applied by orientalists came up with conclution that the `sunnah is not original from the Prophet period. It is so since muslim scholars in Indo-Pakistan contradiction and are not in line with Rahman’s views of sunnah. In critizing the orientalists’s views of Prophetic Sunnah, Rahman tried to elaborate the historical contect of sunnah. According to him, the false views of orientalists were naturally caused by their overlapping perception of sunnah as the living practice and the concept of normative. For muslim scholars, Rahman realized the numerous thoughts among them. Rahman pointed out that evolution of sunnah was historically valid and originally sourced from Muhammad. It is the source of Islamic law. Rahman also said that sunnah is a living tradition of prophet’s Muhammad and a general umbrella concept

First, the many provinces in Indonesia have different religious and cultural setting, making them varied in their reception not only to Syari’ah but also to Islam itself. Second, the formalization of Syari’ah has provoked an uneasy response from many non-Muslims and also from many Muslims who are not happy with the formalization of Syari’ah. Selain untuk hasilkan profit, tarif suatu jasa juga disinyalir mampu membuat pelaku bisnis bertahan dari gempuran kompetitor. Prosedur penentuan tarif tentunya harus berdasarkan berbagai macam pertimbangan, untuk memperoleh laba. Selain pertimbangan, persaingan bisnis juga harus dipikirkan dalam menentukan tarif tersebut. Jangan sampai tarif yang telah ditetapkan terlalu tinggi atau terlalu rendah dari tarif kompetitor. Penelitian ini memiliki beberapa tujuan yaitu untuk mengetahui cara menentukan tarif jasa hotel pada Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel, serta untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penentuan tarif jasa hotel pada Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah penelitian deskriptif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan penulis berupa data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer adalah data yang dikumpulkan peneliti untuk menjawab permasalahan secara khusus. Sedangkan data sekunder adalah data yang diperoleh bukan dari sumbernya melainkan pihak lain seperti literatur buku, atau sumber yang berkaitan dengan topik penetapan harga. Tehnik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan studi pustaka. Tehnik pembahasan yang digunakan adalah pembahasan deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk mengubah kumpulan data mentah menjadi mudah dipahami dalam bentuk informasi yang lebih ringkas. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel untuk mempengaruhi penentuan tarif jasa hotel mempunyai dua faktor yaitu faktor biaya dan faktor bukan biaya. Dari kedua faktor yang mempengaruhi penentuan tarif jasa Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel, faktor biaya merupakan faktor yang mempengaruhi penentuan tarif jasa yang paling tepat untuk Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel. Hasil penelitian diatas sebagai alasan dalam memberikan saran yang dapat disampaikan adalah sebaiknya Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel perlu memperhatikan faktor-faktor yang tepat agar dalam menentukan tarif jasa Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel sebagai perusahaan yang memiliki produk dan jasa berkualitas dengan harga murah. In addition to generate profit, the tariff of a service also allegedly able to make businesses survive the onslaught of competitors. Procedure tariff determination must be based on a wide range of considerations, to make a profit. Besides considerations, business competition should also be considered in determining the tariffs. Do not let the rates have been set too high or too low on the fare competitors. This study has several objectives, namely to know how to determine tariffs for hotels in Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel, as well as to determine the factors that affect the determination of tariffs for hotels in Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel. This type of research used by researchers is a descriptive study. The research methods used by the author in the form of primary data and secondary data. Primary data is data collected researchers to address issues specifically. While secondary data is data obtained from the source, but not other parties such as literature books, or resources related to the topic of pricing. Techniques of collecting data through observation, interviews, and literature. Discussion technique used is descriptive study that aims to change the set of raw data into easily understood in a more compact form of information. From the research that has been done can be concluded that the Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel to affect the determination of tariffs for hotel has two factors: the cost factor and not a cost factor. Of the two factors that affect the determination of tariffs for Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel, the cost factor is a factor affecting the determination of the most appropriate tariff for Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel. The above results as a reason for giving advice that can be delivered is preferably Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel needs to consider the appropriate factors in order to determine tariffs for Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel as a company that has quality products and services at low prices. CONTESTING CALIPHATE: Opposition of Indonesian Fundamentalist Groups to ISIS Caliphate

Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) and Majelis Mujahidin Indonesia (MMI), two Muslims fundamentalist organization that struggle for Islamic caliphate, considers ISIS as deviant and invalid. This article aims to discuss the argument surrounding religious foundation of Islamic caliphate as believed al-Baghdādī as ISIS mastermind and the response of Indonesian fundamentalists to it. While all Islamic fundamentalism believes that establishment of Islamic caliphate is a religious obligation, they do not agree how to implement this obligation. ISIS’s al-Baghdādī is on the opinion that Islamic caliphate is to be implemented with all costs, including using violence and military campaign, Indonesian fundamentalists tend to use non-violence and dialogue as their strategy instead

No full textAbstrak: Hukum pidana mati secara konsepsional dan operasional masih terjadi polemik dan selalu menjadi perbincangan di tengah-tengah masyarakat. Kalangan yang kontra menganggap, hukuman mati tidak manusiawi dan bukan merupakan hukuman yang akan memperbaiki tingkah laku seseorang. Bagi kalangan yang pro, alasan-alasan itu tidak diterima. Menurut mereka, ketidakmanusiawian itu tidak dapat dilihat dari sudut kepentingan seseorang yang terkena hukuman. Kepentingan si korban, para anggota keluarga, dan masyarakat dapat dijadikan acuan dan pegangan sebagai pertimbangan. Kajian ini membahas tentang tinjauan syari‘ah terhadap hukum pidana mati dalam perspektif keadilan dan kemanusian. Menurut syari‘ah, hukum pidana Islam adalah hukum yang setimpal; orang yang membunuh, dia harus dibunuh kecuali jika pihak keluarga terbunuh memberikan pengampunan atau meminta ganti rugi. Selain itu, hukuman itu dapat dilihat dari segi kemaslahatan secara totalitas, bukan kemaslahatan secara parsial. Oleh karena itu, hukum pidana mati pada hakikatnya untuk menjaga hak hidup orang lain demi keadilan dan melesatrikan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan. Dalam pemeriksaan dan pemutusan perkara, hukum pidana mati diterapkan secara fleksibel, transparan, dan manusiawi. Dalam hal ini, hakim melibatkan pihak keluarga korban dengan menanyakan pada pihak keluarga korban tentang kerelaannya untuk memberikan maaf kepada terdakwa.Kata Kunci: Syari‘ah, Hukum Pidana Mati, Keadilan, dan Kemanusiaan</jats:p
KONSEP PENDIDIKAN ETIKA SUFISTIK-FILOSOFIS AL-GHAZÂLÎ
No full textAbstract: The study focuses on the ethic concept of al-Ghazâlî in education. The approach used by al-Ghazâlî, in relation to the educational ethic, is sufistic-philosopichal which tends to the concept of ma‘rifat Allâh, taqarrub, and tahassub through riyâdlah. These three dimentions are the main basis of how to educate the moslem’s ethic. For those whose spiritual has not been good yet, they are suppossed to learn constantly. Therefore, an educator may guide and bring spiritually the students to be close to Allah. In fact, al-Ghazâlî’s concept of ethic in education by sufistic-philosopichal approach has theoretically and practically broad influences for the moslem life all over the world. Such two influences indicate that practically and theoretically al-Ghazalî’s school of thought in ethical education turns out to be the basic of further thinking. Thus, the very strong al-Ghazalî’s influence toppled down the sufism at that time.Abstrak: Kajian ini membahas konsep pendidikan etika al-Ghazâlî. Pendekatan yang digunakan oleh al-Ghazâlî dalam membina etika bermuara pada sufistik-filosofis yang cenderung pada ma‘rifat Allâh dan diproses dengan metode tazkîyat an-nafs, taqarrub, dan tahassub dengan cara riyâdlah. Tiga dimensi ini menjadi landasan untuk membina etika seseorang secara baik. Bagi seseorang yang jiwanya belum bersih, dia harus berguru dan minta petunjuk. Dengan demikian, guru dapat memberi petunjuk dan mengantarkan seorang murid sampai kepada Tuhan. Dalam perkembangannya, konsep pendidikan etika sufistik-filosofis al-Ghazâlî berpengaruh di belahan dunia baik secara teoritik maupun praktis. Dua pengaruh ini menggambarkan pemikiran al-Ghazâlî secara teoritis-praktis dalam bidang pendidikan etika. Pengaruh al-Ghazâlî yang sangat kuat mampu menumbangkan aliran tasawuf yang berlaku pada saat itu.</strong

Get PDFRevolutionary struggle in order to compete for the independence of Indonesia has been a source of inspiration Indonesian artists, including Bambang Soelarto who wrote drama Domba-domba Re- volusi (DDR). DDR studied drama is quite interesting because it tries to criticize the freedom fight- ers. This study aims to: first to know the theme and the problem plays DDR; second to determine the relationship of the socio - historical struggle in 1948 with the sociological elements of drama DDR themes and issues. This study uses sociological theory of art. The basic principles of the sociology of art is the fact that the creation of works of art influenced by the historical social conditions where the work was created. Research using content analysis of Krippendorf, the methods used to examine the symbolic phenomena with the aim to explore and express the observed phenomenon which is the content, meaning, and an essential element of the literary work. Based results of this research is that Bambang Soelarto as the author tries to capture di?erence between fighters during the struggle for the political aspirations for 1948 are expressed in a work of drama. Historical events inspired the creation of drama DDR.
