Diante disso, esse trabalho relata as experiências em torno da implementação dos projetos constituintes da Rede de Projetos pertencentes ao Núcleo Temático da Seca (Nut-Seca), centro de documentação especializado sobre Seca e Semi-Árido vinculado ao Centro de Ciências Sociais Aplicadas da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Dentre os projetos, destaca-se a digitalização de uma das coleções do acervo, denominada Coleção Vale do Assú, bem como a experiência de construção de um e-book com a memória intelectual da Professora Terezinha de Queiroz Aranha, mentora e atual coordenadora do referido núcleo. ABSTRACT: Digital libraries are understood as tools in the current society, the so called Information Society. These tools enable wider socialization of information like never before. Thus, this work aims to detail experiences that took place in the digitalization project at Núcleo Temático da Seca (Nut-Seca), a documentation center specialized in the drought phenomenon at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). In order to address these issues, some elements were pointed out such as the ones of the Project Network, the Oficina da Memória, and a satellite project that deals with recollection of the memory of the documentation center, as well as experiences done for the construction of an e-book on the intellectual memory of Professor Terezinha de Queiroz Aranh

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textPresents a reflection on the information regime in the Project Technologies Laboratory Intellectuals - LTi Department of Information Science at the Federal University of Paraíba. Share the initial results of research with the aim to monitor, discuss and evaluate the actions of LTi in developing information and analyzes activities from model information actions proposed by Gonzalez Gomez. Summarizes the theoretical and methodological framework that covers the approach of information regime, the scope and procedures of the research, and describes a network of LTi projects in view of the strata, and modalities of action information, as well as their respective social actors.Apresenta uma reflexão sobre o regime de informação no Projeto Laboratório de Tecnologias Intelectuais – LTi do Departamento de Ciência da Informação da Universidade Federal da Paraíba. Compartilha os primeiros resultados de pesquisa com o objetivo de acompanhar, discutir e avaliar as ações de informação em desenvolvimento no LTi e analisa as atividades a partir do modelo das ações de informação proposto por González de Gómez. Resume o quadro teórico-metodológico que abrange a abordagem do regime de informação, o escopo e procedimentos da pesquisa, e descreve a rede de projetos do LTi na perspectiva dos estratos e modalidades das ações de informação, bem como dos seus respectivos atores sociais. 
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Fontes de informação para usuários surdos: mapeamento na web
Get PDFIt is understood that information sources can be used as a channel for the
dissemination of information. These sources can be given through various forms of
knowledge. The exploratory research aimed to carry out a survey of the sources of
information for deaf users in all spheres. The study methodology included two phases of
research: one bibliographical and the other on the Internet and relating to a qualitative
approach. The research site was the web and the university's Integrated Academic
Activities Management System (SIGAA) was used for bibliographic research. After
searching for sources of information in the digital environment, we list the sources for deaf
users and we have described some of them. The results allowed the identification of some
types of information sources aimed at the deaf and the research also made it possible to
identify relevant factors in the process of inclusion of the deaf in the digital environment,
the different types of deaf information sources. At the end of the research we realized that
in order to obtain a greater number of sources of information, it is necessary that we
expand the search field further. We also conclude that the mapping of information sources
for deaf people allows quick and practical access to information so that this facility allows
deaf people to escape from invisibility and actually insert themselves into society through
virtual environments.Entende-se que as fontes de informação podem ser utilizadas como um canal de
disseminação da informação. Essas fontes podem se dar através de diversas formas de
conhecimento. A pesquisa, de caráter exploratório, teve como objetivo realizar um
levantamento das fontes de informação para usuários surdos no universo digital. A
metodologia do estudo, incluiu duas fases de pesquisa: uma bibliográfica e outra na
Internet e relacionando-se numa abordagem qualitativa. O local da pesquisa foi a web e
o Sistema Integrado de Gestão de Atividades Acadêmicas (SIGAA) da universidade foi
utilizado para as pesquisas bibliográficas. Após a realização de busca por fontes de
informação no ambiente digital, elencamos as fontes para usuários surdos e fizemos a
descrição de algumas delas. Os resultados permitiram identificar alguns tipos de fontes
de informação voltadas para surdos e a pesquisa também possibilitou identificar fatores
relevantes no processo de inclusão de surdos no ambiente digital e diversificados tipos
de fontes de informação para surdos. Ao término da pesquisa percebemos que para se
obter um número maior de fontes de informação, é necessário que ampliemos mais o
campo de busca. Também concluímos que o mapeamento de fontes de informação para
surdos permite o acesso rápido e prático à informação de modo que essa facilidade
permite que os surdos saiam da invisibilidade e se insira de fato na sociedade através
dos ambientes virtuais

several theorists who discuss the theme, in order to determine the links between concepts
and practice. It suggests a meticulous look at the conduct of the librarian as an information
professional in the digital field, seeking indications that guide him in a more consistent way
for the gradual solution of the problems encountered, in addition to making both the
professional and the user aware of the ethical standards to be followed, and finally to
represent it properly. It proposes to inquire into the presuppositions of the current social
context through bibliographical research, having at its core the work of the librarian, who
plays the role of mediator between the user and the information through activities related to
the planning and organization of materials in different types of media, besides selection,
classification, acquisition, registration and cataloging of such materials. It presents as main
objective the discussion of the Ethics as part of the behavior inherent to the professional of
the information, encouraging actions for the recognition of the conduct of the professional
and abilities for treatment of the information.NenhumaEste trabalho evidencia a temática concernente à ética no contexto atual, respaldando-se nas
convicções de diversos teóricos que discorrem sobre o tema, visando determinar vínculos
entre os conceitos e a prática. Sugere um olhar meticuloso sobre a conduta do bibliotecário
enquanto profissional da informação no âmbito digital, buscando indicações que o orientem
de forma mais consistente para a solução gradual dos problemas encontrados, além de
conscientizar tanto o profissional como o usuário das normas éticas a serem seguidas, e por
fim representá-lo de forma adequada. Propõe indagar pressuposições do contexto social
atual através da pesquisa bibliográfica, tendo como âmago a atuação do bibliotecário, o
qual desempenha o papel de mediador entre o usuário e a informação através de atividades
relacionadas ao planejamento e organização de materiais em suportes de diversos tipos,
além da seleção, classificação, aquisição, registro e catalogação de tais materiais. Apresenta
como principal objetivo a discussão da Ética como parte do comportamento inerente ao
profissional da informação, incentivando ações para o reconhecimento da conduta do
profissional e habilidades para tratamento da informação
