Introducere. Introduction. Deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE), as the most painful fenotipe of endometriosis, is a debilitating condition which is often associated with diagnostic errors and a major impact on patients’ quality of life. Laparoscopy is no longer considered the gold standard for diagnosing endometriosis. Objective. Identification of clinical symptoms and ultrasound markers in deep endometriosis and ovarian endometriomas, in order to support the implementation of non-invasive diagnostic approaches. Material and methods. We conducted a prospective study on patients diagnosed laparoscopically with endometriosis, divided into two groups: L1 - 85 with DIE, and L2 - 105 without DIE. The #Enzian classification was used to stratify the cases and analyze symptomatology. Transvaginal ultrasound sensitivity (Se) and specificity (Sp) were calculated. Results. A statistically correlation was confirmed between Enzian compartments A, B, FA, FI and the presence of 4D symptoms (excluding dysuria); compartment A, C and defecation disorders, B and rectal tenesmus, FA and menometrorrhagia, defecation issues, FB and dysuria, hematuria, bladder tenesmus, FU and lumbar pain, F... and hemoptysis, chest pain, phrenic symptom. Ultrasound showed high Se for ovarian endome-triomas (91.6%, 95% CI: 86.1-95.5). Se for DIE: FA - 93.3%, A - 59.6%, B - 71.4%, FB - 33.3%, FI - 62.5%, F... - 72.7%. The overall Sp of ultrasound for endometriosis, regardless of location, was high at 92.1% (95% CI: 78.6-98.3). Conclusion. A high diagnostic value of clinical signs combined with ultrasound is demonstrated by Sp of 90% for endometrio-ma and DIE, Se of 90% for endometrioma, of 33-93% for DIE, which requires multidisciplinary confirmation by MRI, allowing the implementation of non-invasive diagnosis of endometriosis

    The hadronic photon structure function F2γF^\gamma_2 is studied in the reaction e+ee+ehadrons\mathrm{e^+e^-} \rightarrow \mathrm{e^+e^-hadrons} at LEP with the L3 detector. The data, collected from 1991 to 1995 at a centre-of-mass energy \sqrt{s} \simeq 91 \GeV, correspond to an integrated luminosity of 140~pb1^{-1}. The photon structure function F2γF^\gamma_2 is measured in the Q2Q^2 interval 1.2 \GeV^2 \leq Q^2 \leq 9.0 \GeV^2 and the xx interval 0.002<x<0.20.002 < x < 0.2. \FF shows a linear growth with lnQ2\ln Q^2. The value of the slope \alpha^{-1}\mathrm{d}\FF(Q^2)/\mathrm{d}\ln{Q^2} is measured to be 0.079±0.011±0.0090.079 \pm 0.011 \pm 0.009

Pentylcyanobiphenyl as test molecule for the acid sites of powdered titanium(IV) oxides: sensitivity of core levels to the local structure

    No full text
Pentylcyanobiphenyl was used successfully as a test molecule to show the acid sites upon some commercial nanoscaled titanium dioxide materials. The surface interactions were investigated in detail using methods sensitive to the surface or to the bulk material, e.g., X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), infrared spectroscopy, and thermal analysis. Different oxidation states of surface Ti ions were revealed. Several species were found: the majority were bonded through the nitrogen lone pair of the cyano group, but bonding to the surface OH groups by benzene π electrons might also appear. The N 1s lines of adsorbed 5CB were able to distinguish between Lewis acid and relatively weak Brønsted acid sites

    Test of CP invariance in Zμ+μγZ \to \mu^+ \mu^- \gamma decay

    No full text
We report on the first test of CP invariance in Z decays with hard photon radiation. The data recorded with the L3 detector at centre-of-mass energies near the Z resonance are used to search for CP violation in the reaction \mathrm{e^+e^-}\rightarrow\mu^+\mu^-\gam ma. No evidence for CP violation is found and limits on the CP-violating form factors fAμf^\mu_{\mathrm{A}} and fVμf^\mu_{\mathrm{V}} are derived
