Non-sexist language and feminist pedagogy: (un)comfortable views to mobilize the academy
Full text linkEste artículo reflexivo, escrito geo y corpopolíticamente situado desde el sur, vincula las movilizaciones feministas en Chile durante el 2018, la violencia de género denunciada en las universidades y la emergencia de la demanda colectivizada de una educación no sexista, para pensar los elementos que reproducen el sexismo lingüístico en la academia, desde una pedagogía feminista, interseccional y no binaria. El análisis es atravesado por las marcas del colonialismo, el neoliberalismo y el patriarcado en las formas en que hoy se habitan y re-producen tanto las universidades como el conocimiento.The reflexions in this article written within a geographical and a corporal-political situation from the south and from a feminist, intersectional and non-binary pedagogical perspective- link the feminist mobilizations in Chile during 2018, the gender violence denounced in the universities and the emergence of the collectivized demand for a non-sexist education, in order to think on how linguistic sexism is reproduced in the academy. Social work construction processes in Chile. From history, feminism and sciences
No full textEl artículo aquí presentado realiza en una primer instancia una revisión histórica de la construcción del Trabajo Social en Chile. A la vez, intenta relacionar la feminización del Trabajo Social con las dificultades existentes para el reconocimiento científico de la disciplina. También se aborda la participación de las mujeres en las ciencias y cómo esta presencia o ausencia ha repercutido en la inclusión o exclusión de las mujeres en otros ámbitos. Se realiza un análisis desde perspectivas feministas, las que permiten visibilizar las exclusiones que han vivido históricamente las mujeres. Desde los feminismos se plantean el desarrollo de nuevas epistemologías en las que emerja un sujeto histórico y político, situado en contextos particulares. El documento finaliza con la relación entre el Trabajo Social y las perspectivas feministas y cómo estas entregan respuestas para el quehacer profesional, explicitando los compromisos y posicionamientos que la intervención profesional requiere.The article presented here carries out, in a first instance, a historical review of the construction of Social Work in Chile. Full text linkTesis inédita de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Facultad de Trabajo Social, Departamento de Trabajo Social y Servicios Sociales, leída el 05-02-2016La investigación presentada trata sobre el trabajo social comunitario, realizando una revisión crítica del mismo, incorporando miradas cuestionadoras y analíticas respecto de las bases que sustentan la intervención social con las comunidades. El estudio plantea comprender los enfoques teóricos, metodológicos y ético-políticos con los que el trabajo social comunitario enfrenta los escenarios complejos, diversos y heterogéneos del Chile actual. La tesis revisa ampliamente la noción de comunidad tanto en la teoría social clásica como en los autores críticos de la modernidad. Se aborda a su vez, la vivencia de la comunidad en América Latina, con especial atención en las formas en que las disciplinas la han incorporada, y los sentidos prácticos que lo comunitario posee en la región. Así también, se recorre la trayectoria de la intervención comunitaria en trabajo social, acudiendo a la historia y desarrollo de la profesión en Chile como contexto del estudio. La investigación utiliza una metodología cualitativa, mediante la cual se realizaron entrevistas en profundidad a trabajadores sociales en las regiones de Atacama, Valparaíso, Metropolitana y de la Araucanía, logrando con esto una valoración crítica de las teorías, prácticas y localizaciones ético-políticas que los y las profesionales incorporan en las intervenciones con las comunidades. La tesis busca interpelar al trabajo social y su intervención en los contextos comunitarios. Asimismo, a través de los discursos, se visualiza la forma en que lo comunitario es afectado por las limitaciones de las políticas públicas en un modelo neoliberal, la exclusión como condicionante de las intervenciones, el riesgo de la instrumentalización de la participación ciudadana, entre otros aspectos. En el transcurso del estudio se incorpora el enfoque de género de forma transversal, el cual sitúa la investigación, entregándole una corporalidad y una localización específica; al mismo tiempo, se explicita un posicionamiento crítico, con base en el proyecto ético político de un trabajo social emancipador, asentado en los derechos humanos, la lucha contra todas las formas de dominación, y el compromiso con las comunidades.The research presented is about community social work, performing a critical review thereof, incorporating inquisitive and analytical views about the bases that support the social intervention with communities. The study pretend to understand the theoretical, methodological and ethical-political approaches of how social community work faces complexty, diversity and heterogeneous scenarios of current Chile. The thesis widely reviews the community notion in both classical social theory and critical authors of modernity. The investigation pays special attention to the way use by disciplines building the idea of the community in Latin America, and the practicalities that the community has in the region. It is includded too, a path of community intervention having a look to the history and development of the profession in Chile as part of the study. The research uses a qualitative methodology, in-depth interviews conducted to social workers on the regions of Atacama, Valparaíso, Metropolitana and Araucanía, achieving a critical possition of those theories, practices and ethical-political locations that professionals interventions incorporated to communities. The thesis seeks to question the social work and their involvement in community context. Also, through the speeches, we see the way community is affected by the limitations of public policies in a neoliberal model, exclusion as a condition of interventions, the risk of manipulation of public participation is viewed, among others aspects. La interseccionalidad en las políticas migratorias de la Comunidad de Madrid
No full textThis article aims review the concept of intersectionality, from de analysis of policy frameworks made to plans for migrants’ integration in the Community of Madrid. The article discloses the reality of policy framing where those migrant women are represented as vulnerable, subordinate and homogenized. Therefore, these policies promote an exclusionary citizenship, which excludes migrant women, emphasizing the subordination assigned to them.El artículo pretende revisar el concepto de interseccionalidad a partir del análisis de marcos de política realizado a los planes de integración de personas migrantes de la Comunidad de Madrid. El artículo da a conocer la existencia de marcos interpretativos de política en los que las mujeres migrantes son representadas como vulnerables, subalternas y homogeneizadas.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
