    Jean-Marcel Jeanneney à l'OFCE - Fondations et contributions (1981-1989).

    No full text

Made available in DSpace on 2019-09-12T16:57:06Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2017It is believed that the process of initiating children in scientific literacy interferes intimately with the formation of adults capable of "doing science", ie citizens who understand the importance of criticism, curiosity, discoveries, experiments and creation. The present research investigates the possibility of inserting the process of scientific literacy from the 5th year of elementary school, arousing curiosity for science through thoughtful activities, problem solving and exploration of natural phenomena. For the progress of this research, a case study was carried out in Lorena, in a private school, with students of the 5th grade of Primary Education as a target audience, using Project-Based Learning (ABP) as their teaching methodology. In the course of the present work, its observed the discussion about concepts of arts, mathematics, science and physics that are not present in the 5th year curriculum, however, the students demonstrated ease in their comprehension, since they were presented contextually and motivating. Analyzing the collected data it was verified that pedagogical tasks associated with instigating proposals should be used at all levels of education, since they arouse curiosity and emerge protagonism of each student.[Figueira Gavazzi, Adriana Nascimento] Univ Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, Brazil[Lopes Sinieghi, Ana Luiza; Capuzzi, Jean Marcel; Souza, Leonardo de Melo] Universidade de Taubaté (Unitau

Between the art of invisibility and the art of exaggeration: Marcel Proust caricatured by Jean Cocteau

    No full text
The paper discusses the relationship between Marcel Proust and Jean Cocteau in connection with the problem of their “visibility” (Nathalie Heinich) based on Jean Cocteau’s portrait (1922) of Marcel Proust and Claude Arnaud’s biographical essay (2013). In this context, Cocteau’s drawing, which conveys Marcel Proust’s extravagant character, could nowadays be considered not only a caricatural representation of the author of In Search of Lost Time, but also a demythologizing one, especially in contrast to the image of invisible Proust created by structuralist interpretations. Also, in the mediatic and theoretical contemporary context, Cocteau’s visual representation of Proust could be used to reflect on Proust ’s action (conduite) which, combined with his narrative discourse, defines the “posture” (Jérôme Meizoz) of the author of In Search… within the literary field

L'Universalité du théâtre de Marcel Dubé

The works of Marcel Dube are a testimony of the French Canadian society's evolution, at a time when its cultural and social identity was being questioned. Beyond any doubt, his plays had a strong influence upon Quebecers during the fifties and sixties. Dube's dramatic works have instigated the interest of critics throughout Canada and also in the United States and Europe. This thesis represents an analysis of five plays written by Marcel Dube giving clear indication of the universality of his works, particularly based on unpublished documents. These plays were written almost thirty years ago; nevertheless, they are still alive and applauded nowadays, which corroborates their universality. Also, on the unpublished recording tapes, actress Monique Miller, actor Jean Duceppe and author and critic Jean Ethier-Blais dwell precisely on the universality of Dube's works. Therefore I thought advisable to study this particular topic in the following plays: Zone, Florence, le temps des lilas, Bilan and Au retour des oies blanches. On these unpublished recording tapes, Marcel Dube talks about himself and his life as a writer. We learn about his childhood, the beginning of his career, the people who surrounded and encouraged him, the social, cultural, and political environment that prevailed at the time he wrote his most famous plays. He also acknowledges his mistakes, his weaknesses, his ambitions and talks about the motives that prompted him to become a writer.Furthermore, well known author and critic Jean Ethier-Blais expresses his ideas and feelings regarding the author and his works. Actors and personal friends Monique Miller and Jean Duceppe recollect the circumstances and the effect the dramatic art of Marcel Dube has had on French Canadian culture

Understanding evil in the philosophy of Paul Ricoeur, Jean Nabert and Gabriel Marcel

    No full text
The author discusses the problem of evil defined by Paul Ricoeur, Jean Nabert and Gabriel Marcel as the basic aspect of human existence. The aim of the article is to analyse the writers‘ definitions of evil, its origins, how it is possible, ways of reacting on evil and dealing with it. The author compares the viewpoints present in the works of the philosophers under discussion. Paul Ricoeur, the representative of existential phenomenology and hermeneutics, combines philosophical antropology and the analysis of human activity with the problem of human possibilities and weaknesses. He saw evil as the manifestation and result of an individual’s freedom. Gabriel Marcel, philosopher and playwright, did an phenomenological analysis of an individual set against today’s mass world with evil as one of its components. Jean Nabert, the representative of reflective philosophy, discussed human consciousness, especially an individual’s negative experiences, sin and absolute evil. The three standpoints seem to make up one concept, as all of the writers understand an individual as the victim or cause of evil.

AbstractThis article presents an unpublished text by Jacques Ferron ; a dedication to Jean Marcel written in January 1966 at the same time that the author of La Nuit showed a desire to produce an important and significative literary work. This dedication to Jean Marcel, which will here be the object of an interpretive commentary, constitutes an important proof of this ambition and the strategy adopted by Ferron to accomplish his task, a much more concerted strategy than has been generally imagined

Review of \u3ci\u3eDrought Adaptation in Cereals\u3c/i\u3e Edited by Jean-Marcel Ribaut

    No full text
Perhaps the greatest challenge facing plant biologists this century is developing crop varieties tolerant to drought stress. A warming climate, more extreme weather patterns, and competing demands for limited water supplies will likely combine to increase the frequency and severity of periods of drought, particularly in the Great Plains. Against that backdrop, this volume provides the valuable service of summarizing the state of the art of drought adaptation research involving the world\u27s most important group of crops, the cereals. Editor Jean-Marcel Ribaut of the Generation Challenge Program has enlisted leading authorities on abiotic stress tolerance to author 17 chapters grouped into sections on drought, plant development and environmental interaction, plant improvement in selected cereals, and metabolic and gene expression response to water stress

    Marcel Schwob Digital Collection

This project outlines the discovery and digitization of previously unpublished correspondence composed by late 19th century author and literary critic, Marcel Schwob. Inspired by the inquiry of Bibliothèque Nationale Librarian Bernard Gauthier, Professor Daryl Lee alerted me to the presence of Marcel Schwob materials at BYU. I found that former BYU Professor John Green established a Marcel Schwob Memorial Collection and successfully published two books using the materials he gathered: Chroniques and Correspondance Inédite. After thoroughly researching the catalogued Schwob materials at BYU and comparing the contents to other Schwob publications, I found 72 previously unpublished letters. The majority of the letters (62) were written by Schwob to family members, and the remaining 9 letters were written to Schwob by colleagues. International interest in Marcel Schwob materials is one of many indicators representing renewed interest in the author, his work, and his influence. Recent publications also reflect growing Schwob interest. In Marcel Schwob, d\u27hier et d\u27aujourd\u27hui (2002), Christian Berg and Yves Vadé shed new light on Schwob through the observations of his contemporaries and modern-day essays on the importance of his contes. In addition, Jean Lorrain: Lettres à Marcel Schwob (2006) furthers the effort to better understand Schwob through a collection of correspondence. In light of this renewed interest, I determined that the previously unpublished correspondence would serve as a useful research tool for Schwob scholars. With the guidance and assistance of employees at the Harold B. Lee Library, I subsequently converted the correspondence into a digital publication. Creating a digital publication is a multifaceted undertaking requiring the involvement and expertise of different individuals and library departments. I successfully learned how to use both the hardware and software involved in the digitization process, thereby facilitating my completion of project deliverables, including: scanning and transcribing the letters; writing letter summaries (in both French and English), extracting names, and completing other metadata; uploading metadata using the Lee Library\u27s external database; establishing authority control records; writing website content (in both French and English), and publicizing the project. This document contains the major deliverables found in the digital publication, specifically the website content, the letter transcriptions, and the metadata

Surrealist Senses: Marcel Jean’s Representations of Budapest

    No full text
The paper analyses the spatial representations and the self- representajtions of the surrealist author Marcel Jean in his late autobiography entitled Au galop dans le vent, where he reflects upon his life and upon the seven years that he spent in Budapest with his wife between 1939 and 1945, and also in his book Mnésiques, published in 1942 in Budapest. In this latter book the presence of the surrealist mythology of transformation can be interpreted as a representation of the dislocated self, Au galop dans le vent showing the historical and biographical contexts of these experiences
