Dos zonas de la poesía cubana de los 90 (Editorial Orto, 2007) de Juventina Soler Palomino. Es el peor análisis dedicado a la poesía finisecular cubana que conozco. No full textAnalysis of the Pedro Pérez Rivero\u27s essays book De Sodoma vino un angel, which tries to be a synthetic study about the homosexual subject in the Cuban literature. We present some examples and criticism of the procedures that we consider wrong in the construction of the author\u27s speech. We analyze the concepts and differences between homoerotism and homosexuality. We conclude with a proposal for a more serious study and with more coherence about this subject.Análisis del libro de ensayos De Sodoma vino un ángel, de Pedro Pérez Rivero, que pretende ser una síntesis hermenéutica sobre la literatura de tema homosexual en Cuba. Ejemplificación y crítica de los procedimientos que nos parecen inadecuados en la elaboración del discurso del escritor. Conceptos y diferenciación de homo-erotismo y homosexualidad. Propuesta para un estudio más serio y coherente de dicho tema.
 
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Pasión y política en Catilina de Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda
Full text linkIn this article, we suggest a reading of Catilina (1867) by Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda. First of all, we analyse some general ideas about her works as a whole and their reception in Spain and Cuba; we then emphasise the concept of imitatio as a type of creation, and also highlight the eclectic character of her play writing and her personal relationship with Neoclassicism and Romanticism. Finally we analyse the dramatic resources of this work and the treatment of passionate and politic conflicts.En el presente artículo se propone una lectura de la obra Catilina (1867) de Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda. Primeramente se abordan algunas ideas generales con respecto a toda su obra literaria y a la recepción de la misma en España y Cuba, luego se hace énfasis en el valor de la imitatio como modo de creación, en el carácter ecléctico de la dramaturgia de la autora y en su diálogo personal y desenfadado con el neoclasicismo y el romanticismo. Por último analizamos los recursos dramáticos de la pieza y el tratamiento que se hace en ella de los conflictos pasionales y políticos

sagrado e instructivo, a semejanza de las Tablas de la Ley en las que grabó Dios los lineamientos y
consejos al pueblo de Israel. En Homero, por ejemplo, Belerofonte va a la Licia, al Oriente; lleva un
mensaje con “mortíferas señales” contra él y no lo sabe porque no entiende lo que está grabado allí. De
ahí que, a causa de la importancia y la primacía que tenía en Grecia la transmisión oral, la escritura solo
tenía un uso comercial y ritual en principio, y es con el desarrollo de los estudios alejandrinos, de las
bibliotecas helenísticas, con la apertura hacia el Oriente y con la Biblia y el acervo judío de las Sagradas
Escrituras, cómo el mundo occidental asume el texto escrito como depósito de la tradición y el

la Teoría Literaria y los que se dedican al análisis artístico y cultural. Los estudios, el litterae studere
(dedicarse a la literatura), el acercarse a una disciplina exige conocer un camino (método= metá-odous),
una especie de bautismo o de entrada al mundo de las letras. Eso representa este volumen, un Jordán
