    The purpose of this study was to assess the value of educational character, culture and nationality in the novel Harimau-harimau by Mochtar Lubis. The method used in this study was designed based on the principle of qualitative descriptive method that collecting, processing, reducing, analyzing, and presenting data in an objective context in literature.     The purpose of research is to describe the values of local wisdom short story "Panggil Aku Aisyah" written by Thamrin Paelori. This research is in the form of qualitative descriptive that is expose and submit data objectively the values of local wisdom. The data in the study are: mutual respect (sipakatau), reminding each other (sipakainge), mutual respect (sipakalebbi). The data source is short story "Panggil Aku Aisyah" by Thamrin Paelori, first print. Based on the research results revealed that, respect for each other (sipakatau), is the human nature, which is looking at human beings not in terms of culture, race, religion and social status, remind each other (Sipakainge), is a mutual nature remind. Born as a human being is inseparable from a mistake and an oversight. Thus human beings should remind each other that no human being is perfectly born even though man is God's most perfect and deficient creation that will perfect man.     AbstractThe research aimed to describe the female character (Kuggy) in “Perahu Kertas “ novel wrote Dewi Lestari. The benefit of this study was expected to enrich the wealth of knowledge, especially in the field of study Indonesian language and literature. The data in this study were words, sentences, and phrases that impling the female character in the Perahu Kertas Novel, whereas the source of the data in this study was Perahu Kertas Novel wrote Dewi Lestari work. Methods of study used literature review. Data collection techniques in this study, namely the descriptive analysis of literary works (in the form of documents) or books related literature discussed in the focus of research. The data analysis technique used to classify data that strengthens the research. The study was invented female characters in the Perahu Kertas Novel wrote Dewi Lestari.Key words: Woman, independent, creative, unique AbstrakPeneitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakter perempuan( Kuggy)dalam novel Perahu Kertas karya Dewi Lestari. Manfaat penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memperkaya khazanah ilmu pengetahuan, khususnya dalam bidang studi Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah kata, kalimat, ungkapan yang mengandung makna karakter perempuan dalam novel Perahu Kertas, sedangkan yang menjadi sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Perahu Kertas karya Dewi Lestari. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kajian pustaka. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini, yaitu teknik analisis  deskriptif karya sastra (dalam bentuk dokumen) atau buku-buku sastra yang berkaitan dengan fokus yang akan dibahas dalam penelitian. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah mengklasifikasi data-data yang memperkuat hasil penelitian.     Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa VII F SMPN 3 Makassar yang berjumlah 24 orang yang dipilih secara acak (random). Objek penelitiannya adalah kemampuan menulis cerpen dengan menerapkan metode parsipatoris Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis cerita pendek. Langkah-langkah penelitian meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, evaluasi, dan refleksi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik tes dan teknik non-tes. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa keterampilan menulis teks berita siswa VII F SMPN 3  Makassar akan meningkat jika dalam pembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan partisipatoris. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan hasil rata-rata, nilai tengah, nilai yang sering muncul, serta nilai maksimal pada tes pra tindakan, siklus I, siklus II, membuktikan adanya peningkatan

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    This research discusses the comparison of the Dediscerta Learning Method with the Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review (SQ3R) Learning Method in Reading Ability, Comprehension of Folklore Texts and Learning Outcomes of Class V Cluster 3 Students, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency. This research aims to determine whether there are differences in students' reading comprehension abilities of folklore texts using the Dediscerta learning method and the SQ3R learning method. The type of research used is quasi experimental design type nonequivalent control group design. The research population was all students of class V, Cluster 3, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency, which consists of seven schools with a total number of students of 285. The research sample chosen was class V students of SDI Ta'buakkang, totaling 44 people. There are 42 class V students at SDI Bilonga. There were 45 class V students at SDN Bategulung using cluster random sampling techniques. The data collection technique in the research was carried out through a test technique to determine students' ability to read and understand folklore texts in the form of multiple choice questions totaling 10 questions.The results of research based on descriptive analysis showed that the average value of the Dediscerta learning method at SDI Ta'buakkang was 85.23, at SDI Bilonga 81.75 at SDN Bategulung, 81.59, while for the application of the SQ3R learning method at SDI Ta'buakkang, the average value was 83. .57 at SDI Bilonga 81.75 at SDN Bategulung 81.42. This means that the Dediscerta learning method is more improved than the SQ3R learning method. Meanwhile, the results of the inferential analysis show that the Dediscerta learning method has a more significant effect compared to the SQ3R learning method on the ability to read and understand folklore texts for class V group 3 students in Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency. This is based on the results of the independent sample t test obtained, namely the sig value. 0.001 < 0.005.   Keywords: dediscerta learning method, SQ3R, reading comprehension ability, learning outcomes
