The Effect of Salt Pretreatment on The Growth and Yield of Oryza sativa L. (Cv. Dendang) Under Saline Condition
Productivity of rice as staple food of Indonesia needs to be improved. One of the efforts is by utilizing saline area for agricultural land. Salinity can be a serious problem leading to a decrease in crop productivity. Plant adaptation under salinity is an alternative to lower the risk, which can be improved by seedling pretreatment. The experiment was conducted in Baros, Kretek, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The objective of this research was to determine the growth and yield response of rice cv. Dendang to the salt pretreatment at early stage. The experiment was arranged in completely randomized design. The treatments used were salt pretreatment and without salt pretreatment. The salt pretreatment increased K+ concentration, total dry matter, plant height and number of tillers. However, it decreased proline and Na+ concentration of leaf. There was no significant difference on the yield and yield component. Increasing EC values up to 8.35 dSm-1at generative phase reduced the rice ability to cope this level of salinity despite the application of salt pretreatment. The benefit of salt pretreatment was exhibited on rice grown under EC value 5 dSm-1
KAJIAN PENGGUNAAN ZAT PENGATUR TUMBUH INDOLE BUTYRIC ACID (IBA) TERHADAP PENINGKATAN PERTUMBUHAN STEK BATANG TANAMAN MURBEI (Morus alba L.)
Mulberry (Morus alba L.) is an important commodity in the silkworm farming industry and has high economic value, thus requiring efficient propagation techniques. Vegetative propagation through stem cuttings is often constrained by a low success rate of root formation. IBA (Indole Butyric Acid), as a synthetic auxin hormone, plays a significant role in stimulating root development in plants. This study aims to determine the effect of concentration and soaking duration of the plant growth regulator Indole Butyric Acid (IBA) on the growth enhancement of mulberry (Morus alba L.) stem cuttings. The research was conducted at the Seed House of the Experimental Garden, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muria Kudus, located in Gondangmanis Village, Bae Sub-district, Kudus Regency, from May to July 2024. The study employed a Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) consisting of two factors with three replications. The first factor was IBA concentration (K), namely K1 (100 ppm), K2 (200 ppm), and K3 (300 ppm). The second factor was soaking duration (L), namely L1 (60 minutes) and L2 (120 minutes). The results showed that different concentrations of Indole Butyric Acid had an effect on root length, time of bud emergence, and shoot length at 3 weeks after planting (WAP), while soaking duration influenced root length. A significant interaction between IBA concentration and soaking duration was observed on root length
Identifikasi Komposisi dan Dominansi Gulma pada Lahan Terbuka dan Ternaungi di Lahan Pasir Pantai Samas, Kabupaten Bantul, YOGYAKARTA
Usaha budidaya pertanian di lahan pasir pantai merupakan upaya ekstensifikasi dalam meningkatkan produksi pertanian. Sama halnya dengan praktik budidaya tanaman di lahan optimum, kehadiran gulma di lahan pasir pantai juga dapat menurunkan produksi tanaman. Pengelolaan gulma di lahan pasir pantai didasarkan pada kondisi lahan. Kondisi lahan yang terbuka maupun ternaungi di lahan pasir pantai memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda. Dengan mengetahui komposisi gulma di lahan tersebut akan ditentukan pengendalian yang tepat. Metode yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah dengan sampling menggunakan kerangka kawat berukuran 50 cm x 50 cm. Masing-masing lahan diambil 3 titik sampel. Pada setiap titik dilakukan pengambilan gulma. Data dianalisis dengan menghitung frekuensi nisbi, kerapatan nisbi, dominansi nisbi, summed domination ratio (SDR) dan koefisien komunitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gulma jenis rumputan paling mendominasi pada lahan terbuka (Axonopus compressus. Digitaria ciliaris dan Echinochloa colonum. Sedangkan gulma di lahan ternaungi menunjukkan gulma jenis daun lebar yang mendominasi (Amaranthus palmeri, Commelina benghalensis, Gomphrena globasa, Hyptis suavadens, Tridax procumbens). Adapun nilai SDR paling tinggi baik pada lahan terbuka maupun ternaungi adalah gulma Axonopus compressus dengan nilai berturut-turut 57,51% dan 24,47% Nilai koefisien komunitas yang didapatkan dari lahan terbuka dan ternaungi adalah 59,69%. Nilai ini menunjukkan bahwa keragaman komunitas gulma di kedua lahan heterogen atau berbeda
Pemanfaatan Pekarangan Sempit Untuk Budidaya Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) di Kelurahan Pati Kidul
Meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap kesehatan di tengah kondisi pandemi covid-19, berpengaruh pada peningkatan penggunaan obat–obatan tradisional. Warga Pati Kidul termasuk dalam kawasan perkotaan yang memiliki pekarangan sempit, namun tetap dapat dimanfaatkan untuk budidaya tanaman obat keluarga (TOGA). Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan masyarakat Kelurahan Pati Kidul tentang budidaya tanaman TOGA di pekarangan sempit dan khasiat tanaman TOGA bagi kesehatan, serta menguasai cara budidaya TOGA. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan di Kelurahan Pati Kidul pada 6 dan 13 November 2021, yang dilakukan dalam beberapa tahapan: 1) Koordinasi dengan mitra; 2) Edukasi melalui penyuluhan; 3) Praktik menanam; 4) Pemberian bantuan bibit TOGA. Koordinasi dengan mitra dilakukan untuk membahas teknis kegiatan, sekaligus persiapan alat dan bahan. Materi yang disampaikan dalam penyuluhan berupa Jenis-jenis tanaman TOGA, cara memilih bibit TOGA yang baik dan budidaya TOGA dalam POT untuk pekarangan sempit. Kegiatan pelatihan selanjutnya adalah praktik menanam TOGA. Dilaksanakan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu persiapan media tanam, penanaman dan pemeliharaan. Hasil dari pengabdian ini menambah pengetahuan Ibu-ibu tentang pemanfaatan pekarangan sempit perkotaan untuk ditanami TOGA dan pelatihan budidaya TOGA ini difokuskan pada pemilihan bibit yang baik, penyiraman dan pemupukan yang tepat serta penempatan polibag yang sesuai dengan syarat tumbuh benih
Edukasi Pengolahan Limbah Organik Bagi Siswa SMA N 1 Kudus
Pengelolaan sampah organik bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan masyarakat dan kualitas lingkungan serta menjadikan sampah sebagai sumberdaya. Sampah organik berupa seresah daun diolah menjadi menjadi kompos yang memiliki banyak manfaat dan bernilai ekonomi. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi kepada siswa/siswi SMA N 1 Kudus dalam mengolah limbah organik menjadi kompos yang bernilai ekonomis. Metode pengabdian masyarakat yang digunakan adalah metode society parcipatory dan metode persuasive approach. Terdiri dari beberapa langkah: 1). Sosialisasi dan koordinasi dengan pihak terkait, 2). Penyampaian materi. 3) Praktik dan tanyajawab. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini dikatakan telah mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan kepada peserta (Siswa/I SMA N 1 Kudus) untuk mengolah sampah menjadi bahan bermanfaat sekaligus produk baru yang memiliki nilai ekonomi. Hal tersebut ditandai dengan banyaknya siswa yang mampu mempraktikan setiap tahapan pengomposan dan mampu menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang diberikan oleh tim pengabdian
Peningkatan Pengetahuan Penggerak PKK Desa Ploso Kabupaten Kudus Melalui Sosialisasi Rintisan Program Kampung Iklim (ProKlim)
Desa Ploso Kecamatan Jati Kabupaten Kudus adalah kawasan sentra penghasil tahu yang memiliki permasalahan dalam hal penanganan limbah padat maupun cair. Potensi permasalahan yang ada di Desa tersebut mengarah kepada isu perubahan iklim. Terjadinya perubahan iklim secara global membutuhkan upaya adaptasi dan mitigasi yang melibatkan seluruh elemen pemangku kepentingan. Pemerintah Indonesia melalui Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan melakukan pengendalian perubahan iklim dengan mendorong kerja sama berbagai pihak untuk memperkuat kapasitas adaptasi dan mitigasi perubahan iklim melalui pelaksanaan Program Kampung Iklim (ProKlim) yaitu kegiatan adaptasi dan mitigasi perubahan iklim pada tingkat tapak dengan melibatkan peran serta aktif masyarakat dan berbagai stakeholders. Kegiatan yang termasuk mitigasi antara lain pengelolaan sampah, limbah padat dan cair, serta meningkatkan dan/atau mempertahankan tutupan vegetasi. Desa Ploso, Kecamatan Jati, Kabupaten Kudus memiliki potensi sumberdaya manusia dan sumberdaya alam yang dapat didorong menjadi desa ProKlim. Hal ini perlu didukung oleh kegiatan yang mendorong rintisan desa ProKlim yaitu kegiatan sosialisasi terkait dengan peningkatan pengetahuaan tim penggerak PKK di Desa Ploso. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk mendukung rintisan Desa Ploso menuju kampung iklim.Metode yang dilakukan pada pengabdian ini adalah berupa sosialisasi, pelatihan, praktik dan pendampingan
Mitigasi Perubahan Iklim Melalui Pelatihan Budidaya Tanaman Hortikultura di Desa Ploso, Kecamatan Jati, Kabupaten Kudus
The purpose of the community service activities is to disseminate climate change and training in cultivating horticultural crops in the yard to increase vegetation cover in Ploso Village, Jati District, Kudus Regency as an effort to mitigate environmental change. The activity partners are members of Ploso Village Family Welfare Empowerment. Implementation of activities consists of socializing climate change mitigation, presentation of horticultural plant cultivation materials, and horticultural planting practices, especially vegetables and fruit in yards. The results of the activity showed that 80% of partner member respondents stated that the training material was very interesting, 85% stated that the material was very useful, and 80% stated that it was very easy to understand so that they can practice it on their own after the training is over. With more and more horticultural crops being planted, it will increase the vegetation cover in Ploso Village to reduce climate change.Perubahan iklim yang ditunjukkan dengan perubahan suhu, kelembaban, curah hujan, dan angin merupakan masalah yang sedang dihadapi seluruh dunia. Salah satu kegiatan mitigasi untuk mengurangi dampak perubahan iklim adalah meningkatkan dan/atau mempertahankan tutupan vegetasi. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian adalah melakukan pelatihan budidaya tanaman hortikultura di pekarangan untuk meningkatkan tutupan vegetasi di Desa Ploso, Kecamatan Jati, Kabupaten Kudus sebagai upaya mitigasi terhadap perubahan lingkungan. Mitra kegiatan pengabdian adalah Kelompok PKK Desa Ploso. Pelaksanaan pengabdian diawali dengan sosialisasi mitigasi perubahan iklim, penyajian materi budidaya tanaman hortikultura, dan praktek penanaman tanaman hortikultura khususnya sayur dan buah di pekarangan. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan 80% responden anggota PKK Desa Ploso menyatakan bahwa materi pelatihan sangat menarik, 85% menyatakan materi sangat bermanfaat, dan 80% menyatakan materi sangat mudah dipahami, sehingga dapat dipraktekkan sendiri setelah pelatihan selesai dilaksanakan. Dengan semakin banyaknya tanaman hortikultura yang ditanam, diharapkan semakin menambah tutupan vegetasi di Desa Ploso untuk mengurangi perubahan iklim
Pemberdayaan Petani Milenial Melalui Pengolahan Limbah Ternak Kelinci menjadi Pupuk Organik Cair: Empowering Millennial Farmers Through Processing Rabbit Livestock Waste into Liquid Organic Fertilizer
The agricultural sector is an important sector that contributes to economic growth of 13.28%. However, the farm industry is currently experiencing an imbalance in the age of farmers because most farmers have reached old age, the number of farmers aged 19-39 years (millennial farmers) is only 21.93%. In addition, the occurrence of climate change also affects land productivity. One way to reduce climate change is to use organic fertilizers to reduce chemical fertilizers. The purpose of the activity is to increase and strengthen the capacity of the Pagar Bersemi Young Farmers Group through the use of rabbit livestock liquid waste into rabbit urine liquid organic fertilizer to increase land productivity and realize sustainable agriculture. The activity was carried out through (1) socialization of rabbit livestock waste processing technology into rabbit urine liquid organic fertilizer; (2) training in rabbit livestock waste processing technology into liquid organic fertilizer; (3) mentoring and evaluation; and (4) activities for program sustainability. The results of the activity showed that (1) increasing the knowledge and skills of partners about processing rabbit livestock liquid waste into liquid organic fertilizer, (2) partners can process rabbit livestock liquid waste into rabbit urine liquid organic fertilizer
PENGARUH KONSENTRASI IAA DAN JUMLAH DAUN ENTRES TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN SAMBUNG PUCUK BIBIT JAMBU AIR (Syzygium aqueum) VAR. LUMUT KAYEN
Lumut Kayen Variety Guava is a local variety of guava from Pati Regency with a greenish color, a fruit weight of 60-100 g, and a sweet taste. Research on the application of auxin and the number of entres leaves on the graft shoots of the Lumut Kayen variety has never been carried out, therefore a study was carried out to determine the effect of Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) concentration and the number of entres leaves on the growth of the graft of the Lumut Kayen variety guava shoots. The research was carried out in Jatimulyo Village, Wedarijaksa, Pati in June - August 2023. The research is a two-factor factorial experiment using a Complete Randomize Block Design. The first factor is the concentration of auxin, consisting of three levels, namely: 0, 100, and 200 ppm. The second factor is that the number of entres leaves consists of three levels, namely: 0, 2, and 4 leaves, so that 9 combinations of treatments are repeated three times. The results showed that IAA concentration had an effect on the time of bud appearance, but had no effect on the number of shoots and the number of leaves. The fastest budding time was obtained at IAA concentration treatment of 200 ppm, which was 8.22 days. The number of entres leaves affects the time of bud appearance, the number of buds, and the number of leaves. The number of 4-leaf entres gives the fastest budding time (7.65 days), the number of shoots, and the highest number of leaves at 8 weeks after grafting, which is 7.46 buds and 20.89 leaves respectively. There was no interaction between IAA concentration and the number of entres leaves on the growth of guava seedlings
