Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan penyebaran angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model lingkaran sastra dan pedagogi reflektif meningkatan kemampuan dan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam mengapresiasi karya sastra. Mahasiswa menjadi lebih aktif dan kritis dalam proses pembelajaran apresiasi sastra. Selain itu, mahasiswa juga mampu menuliskan hasil apresiasi sastra dalam bentuk artikel maupun karya sastra dan media pembelajaran yang dapat dipergunakan mahasiswa untuk media presentasi. Beberapa mahasiswa mempublikasikan artikel apresiasi sastra ke dalam media massa.Kata kunci: model pembelajaran, lingkaran sastra, pedagogi reflektif, pengetahuan, keterampilan.Abstract: This study describes the application of literary circle and pedagogy reflective learning models as an effort to improve the ability and skills of students in appreciating literature. It uses a qualitative descriptive design. The data were obtained through interviews, observation, and questionnaire. The results showed that the application of the literary circle and reflective pedagogy models improved the students' ability and skills in appreciating literary works. They became more active in the learning process and critical appreciation of literature. In addition, they were also able to write literary appreciation results in the form of articles and literary works as well as learning media that could be used as the media for student presentation. Some students published their literary appreciation articles in the mass media

    Pseudo-Reality from the Context of Reader-Author Relationship Through Wattpad Comments Section: A Simulation Theory from Jean Baudrillard

    The development and issues within the Wattpad platform require research on the pseudo-reality in virtual communication between its readers and author. The pseudo-reality can help determine the communication type in the comments section: positive or negative. Therefore, this research can determine to what extent readers can accept the pseudo-reality that might occur during the interaction between them and the author. This research describes the pseudo-reality in the communication between the readers and author on the Wattpad platform by using the descriptive qualitative method based on a theory by Jean Baudrillard. The data source is the communication record between readers and author in BYBcool’s comments section of cyber fiction entitled Lost World, Zystrome: The Exordium Outsider, El Libro, dan Outsider by Rania Thahirah. Data collection is in the form of chat records between readers and authors that contain pseudo-reality. The steps taken in data collection include data selection, reading the data collection, documenting data collection, designing the research instrument, inserting data into the data capture table, and coding it. The data analysis step in this research comprises describing and interpreting data inductively, simultaneous data collection, and analyzing data using a particular content analysis technique before finally drawing a conclusion. The research result revealed the existence of pseudo-reality in the Wattpad comment section. The author’s responses were a manipulation attempt to create a good image, show concern over the readers and broad insight and incredible ideas, and get plenty of fans. Simultaneously, the author created pseudo-reality by choosing neutral words to avoid potential conflicts, responding to readers’ comments accordingly, and using appropriate emoticons and emojis with the most suitable expression. Good communication is essential for authors to build a close relationship with their readers

In this study, the researcher observed the implementation of Blended Learning to teach writing recount text, students’ writing skill and also their responses. In this process, rotation model of blended learning is constructed in the teaching and learning process especially in the collecting data stage. In conclusion, Blended Learning can be implemented to teach writing recount text to the eight grade students because it can help them to complete the target of teaching and learning English and get new experience in using online learning contents. Rotation model gave time to students to have cycle through a schedule of independent online study and face to face classroom time.     Representation of nationalism in Novel Kaki Langit Talumaea and its Development as a LearningMedia. This article aims to describe the character of Indonesian love of the main character in the novelKaki Langit Talumae as a material for the development of teaching materials of literary appreciation.This research is a qualitative research. Based on the analysis, there are several characters shown by themain characters, among whom love the homeland, hard work, democratic, curiosity, respect achievement,responsibility, social care, religious, creative, tolerance, the spirit of nationalism, love to read, and lovepeace. This is because the story that the author uses is very close to the lives of teenagers. Character education should not be separated in everyday life, especially during adolescence. Starting from family life, school, to social life. This study aims to describe the values of character education and the creativity of the author in creating the characters found in the novel Antares by Rweinda. The data source in this study is a novel entitled Antares by Rweinda published by Lovable in 2020. The research data is in the form of units of words and sentences that describe the character values of the novel characters. The results of this study are that there are five forms of educational values described in the novel Antares by Rweinda including tolerance, responsibility, honesty, solidarity, and courage. The five values of character education are very exemplary for today's youth. Thus, this novel can be used as an alternative in character learning. The depiction of the value of character education in the novel Antares by Rweinda which is shown through the characters cannot be separated from the creativity of the author. Rweinda as the author of this novel can create characters with various characters that cannot be separated from the environment in which they live. Rweinda who is still a teenager can create teenage characters with characters and problems experienced by the lives of teenagers.

    An Analysis of Gender Identity in David Ebershoff’s the Danish Girl

    The Danish Girl is a novel written by David Ebershoff, an American author, in 2000. The Danish Girl tells about the life of transgender pioneer which struggles to seek his true identity. I identify the gender identity of the main character through his characterization. Not only the characterization of Einar, there are also other characters. However, this thesis focuses on Einar‟s characterization. I use qualitative data analysis because it is aims to analyzing and explaining the meaning of the message inside the novel. Sociological approach and queer theory utilized to help this research in understanding more about transgender. The result of the research shows that Einar is a transgender, named Lili. It is analyzed through the characterization of Einar that leads this research finds the gender identity through his cross-gender identity behaviour and also his psychological suffering. Therefore, Einar insists to transform his identity becoming Lili Elbe. This research also explains pertaining to the transformation of Einar becoming a transgender. He obtains his family support until successful being a transgender. Queer theory is uses to conceive how Einar‟s gender identity is constructed by society. Acccording to Butler, gender is not following the sexual identity because sexual identity is not determinant by gender, gender is constructed by culture and society. Furthermore, the social context and author motives in the novel also discussed. The social context in the novel located in Denmark represents the society when the novel is written. I analyze the social condition in Denmark 1930‟s corresponded to gender identity issues which the society in Denmark 1930‟s accepted trans-person. Besides, to analyze the author motives I have to figure out the author‟s way of thinking towards the problem in the novel. Ebershoff delivers his motives in the novel by exploring the struggle of Einar as a transgender person who succeeded being trans-sexual and accepted by his family. He succeeded to influence his close relatives about his problem as transgender through his behavior, ideas and opinion as well from the dialogue

    Prasangka dan Perilaku Destruktif dalam Novel Si Anak Badai Karya Tere Liye

     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) prasangka tokoh terhadap utusan gubernur dalam novel Si Anak Badai karya Tere Liye, 2) dampak prasangka tokoh terhadap utusan gubernur pada novel Si Anak Badai karya Tere Liye. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan psikologi sastra, dengan sumber datanya novel Si Anak Badai karya Tere Liye. Data berupa satuan cerita yang terwujud dalam dialog, paragraf, maupun narasi yang menjelaskan prasangka tokoh terhadap tokoh lain. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca catat kemudian dikelompokkan dalam tabel. Analisis data menggunakan langkah reduksi data yang meliputi menyeleksi, meringkas, serta menggolongkan data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: 1) prasangka tokoh terhadap utusan gubernur yang hendak mendirikan secara paksa pelabuhan di kampung Manowa yang terwujud dalam persepsi, kekhawatiran, bahkan tindakan perlawanan yang dilakukan oleh rakyat Manowa, 2) dampak prasangka tokoh terhadap utusan gubernur yang berwujud kemarahan dan juga kenekatan dalam melancarkan pembangunan pelabuhan tersebut. This study aims to describe 1) the prejudice of the characters on the governor's delegation in Si Anak Badai novel by Tere Liye, 2) The impact of the character's prejudice on the governor's delegation in Si Anak Badai novel by Tere Liye. This research is a descriptive qualitative study with a literary psychology approach. The data source is the novel Si Anak Badai by Tere Liye. Data in the form of story units that are manifested in dialogues, paragraphs, and narratives that explain the character's prejudice about other characters. The data collection technique used the reading and notes technique and then grouped them in a table. Data analysis uses data reduction steps which include selecting, summarizing, and classifying data. The results of this study are 1) the prejudice of the figures regarding the governor's delegation who want to forcibly establish a port in Manowa Village which are manifested in perceptions, worries, and even acts of resistance by the people of Manowa, 2) the impact of the figures' prejudice on the governor's delegation who is angry and impetuous in accelerating the construction of the port

    ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai humanisme yang terdapat dalam novel How to Love Indonesia, (2) mendeskripsikan relevansi nilai-nilai humanisme dalam novel How to Love Indonesia dengan kehidupan modern saat ini, (3) mendeskripsikan upaya penyelesaian konflik yang berhubungan dengan nilai humanisme dari tokoh yang terlibat dalam novel How to Love Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi (content analysis). Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah sosiologi sastra. Sumber data diperoleh dari novel berjudul How to Love Indonesia karya Duma M. Sembiring (Juara 3 Seberapa Indonesiakah Dirimu?). Hasil penelitian ini adalah tokoh-tokoh yang ada dalam novel How to Love Indonesia mengajarkan nilai-nilai humanisme yakni menghargai pendapat orang lain, kerjasama, rela berkorban, peduli terhadap orang lain, tolong menolong dan solidaritas yang patut diteladani oleh pembaca. Nilai humanisme yang dihasilkan akan dikaitkan dengan kehidupan modernisasi yang terjadi saat ini. Upaya penyelesaian konflik menggunakan konteks sosial yang dihubungkan pada pemahaman mengenai  pendidikan tertinggi adalah dengan menghargai dan mencintai Negara seperti seorang anak yang mencintai ibunya.Kata kunci: Nilai humanisme, upaya, dan relevansi ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research is (1) to describe the humanism values contained in the novel How to Love Indonesia, (2) to describe the relevance of humanism values in the novel How to Love Indonesia with the current modernization life, (3) to describe conflict resolution the humanism values efforts from figures involved in the novel How to Love Indonesia. This research is a qualitative research with content technique analysis. The approach used is literary sociology. Data sources were obtained from a novel titled How to Love Indonesia by Duma M.Sembiring (Champion 3: Seberapa Indonesiakah Dirimu?). The results of this study are the characters in the novel How to Love Indonesia teach the humanism values, namely respecting the opinions of others, cooperation, willing to sacrifice, caring for others, helping and solidarity that sould be emulated by readers. the humanism values that is produced will be linked to the life of modernization that is happening now.     The Insertion of Local Wisdom into Instructional Materials of Bahasa Indonesia for 10th Grade Students in Senior High School

    This current study aimed at investigating Bahasa Indonesia textbooks with regards to local wisdom issues. The preliminary study was utilized as the basis for developing instructional materials of Bahasa Indonesia that are rich of characters. Bahasa Indonesia instructional materials containing local wisdoms not only equip students with broad knowledge, but strong characters as well. Qualitative research method was employed for the purpose of this current study. After analyzing the contents of seven Bahasa Indonesia textbooks for Grade 10 Senior High School, there were some tapped local wisdoms. However, some of texts were subject to changes, replaced by various texts originating from a number of regions throughout Indonesia. Those intended texts contained more local wisdoms and contributed to students’ broadened knowledge about diversities in Indonesia. Keywords: Local wisdoms, instructional materials, Grade 10

    Citra Tokoh Perempuan Dalam Cerita Anak Indonesia (Sebuah Pendekatan Kritik Feminisme)

    Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan citra tokoh perempuan dalam cerita anak Indonesia. Saat ini, tokoh perempuan dalam berbagai cerita anak Indonesia masih digambarkan sebagai tokoh yang tidak banyak berperan penting, tokoh perempuan hanya digambarkan sebagai pelengkap. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dan menggunakan pendekatan kritik feminisme. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah sembilan buku cerita anak yang digunakan sebagai sampel penelitian. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa uraian dan dialog yang berkaitan dengan citra tokoh perempuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) hubungan antara tokoh laki-laki dengan perempuan yang digambarkan sebagai hubungan yang harmonis dan saling mengisi. (2) Tokoh perempuan gigih berusaha dalam berbagai hal, termasuk dalam menyelesaikan persoalan. (3) Tokoh perempuan dapat berpenampilan sesuai dengan keinginan dan kepribadiannya.
