    No full text
After the consent is granted in the marriage of a husband and wife, the recitation of taklik talak takes place as part of a marriage agreement in Islam. This research is based on the consideration of the pros and cons of the Sambas Malay community, especially religious leaders regarding the marriage agreement called taklik talak in Islam. With a qualitative research method that is a phenomenological approach in the field, the author described how taklik talak exists as a marriage agreement in Islam and its application to the Sambas Malay community. The fact is that almost every married couple in the Malay community of Sambas does not say taklik talak by the husband to his wife after the consent is granted, only knowing it has been written or included in the marriage book without notification to the husband and wife. Although it is not obligatory to verbally express the taklik talak which is already written on the marriage certificate, once the taklik talak has been read out, it cannot be challenged again. If an agreement that has been agreed with a husband and wife is not fulfilled by one of the parties, then the other party has the right to submit the matter to the Religious Court to resolve it. The results in the study concluded that the pros and cons of implementing taklik talak as a marriage agreement in Islam were caused by a lack of knowledge of the Marriage Law Number 1 of 1974 Article 29 concerning Marriage Agreement and Islamic Law Compilation (KHI) Article 46 concerning taklik talak as well as the lack of exposure from the KUA through religious counselors and BP4 to premarital couples  in Sambas

    No full text
Issuing zakāh (zakat) is an obligation for Muslims who have attained nisab to issue zakat. Zakat has a very noble place in the teachings of Islamic sharia sharia because the existence of zakat is very decisive and mapping in alleviating poverty of Muslims in Indonesia. With the continuous development of the times, until entering the era of globalization 4.0, zakat still exists and continues to exist, and is ingrained in the soul of every pious person. Even in the era of globalization 4.0, technical support further strengthens Sharia Zakat law. This research is a qualitative field research, a field research procedure that produces descriptive data, in the form of written or oral data from people and observed research. In analyzing data, the author uses qualitative data analysis techniques or uses descriptive analysis, which departs from empirical facts or events, then the data is studied and analyzed so that general conclusions and generalizations can be made. Some of the main problems in the management of zakat management in Indonesia are problems related to the organization of zakat collection management and the demlematics of Muslim participation, and the role of methods in zakat management is not at all directed. In providing solutions to zakat management, appropriate designs must be made so that they can be free from obstacles that can disrupt zakat management and correct deficiencies in internal zakat receiving organizations from central to regional management, there must be new breakthroughs, especially in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. Prioritize the regulations that have been made and take firm action for those who do not want to issue zakat for Muslim communities who have reached nisab issuing zakat who do not want to issue zakat

Genome and transcriptome analysis of the latent pathogen Lasiodiplodia theobromae, an emerging threat to the cacao industry

    No full text
Lasiodiplodia theobromae (Pat.) Griffon & Maubl., a member of the family Botryosphaeriaceae, is becoming a significant threat to crops and woody plants in many parts of the world, including the major cacao growing areas. While attempting to isolate Ceratobasidium theobromae, a causal agent of vascular streak dieback (VSD), from symptomatic cacao stems, 74% of isolated fungi were Lasiodiplodia spp. Sequence-based identification of 52 putative isolates of L. theobromae indicated that diverse species of Lasiodiplodia were associated with cacao in the studied areas, and the isolates showed variation in aggressiveness when assayed using cacao leaf discs. The present study reports a 43.75 Mb de novo assembled genome of an isolate of L. theobromae from cacao. Ab initio gene prediction generated 13 061 protein-coding genes, of which 2862 are unique to L. theobromae, when compared with other closely related Botryosphaeriaceae. Transcriptome analysis revealed that 11 860 predicted genes were transcriptionally active and 1255 were more highly expressed in planta compared with cultured mycelia. The predicted genes differentially expressed during infection were mainly those involved in carbohydrate, pectin, and lignin catabolism, cytochrome P450, necrosis-inducing proteins, and putative effectors. These findings significantly expand our knowledge of the genome of L. theobromae and the genes involved in virulence and pathogenicity. The accepted manuscript in pdf format is listed with the files at the bottom of this page. When Risk Management Systems ‘Fail’: On Criminal Negligence and the Limits of Scientists’ Responsibility

    No full text
This chapter consists of a brief discussion on some legal aspects concerning scientists’ responsibility in risk prevention processes. After proposing some introductory considerations on scientists’ responsibility as such, the author deals with the L’Aquila earthquake crisis of 2009, when a strong quake destroyed significant parts of L’Aquila (Italy) and surrounding villages, killing more than 300 people. The chapter focuses on the relations between scientific knowledge, normative expectations, decision-making and criminal negligence for ‘failed’ risk assessment and management, paying particular attention to the role of ‘regulatory science’ in constructing the ‘reasonable person’ normative standard of care in the theory of criminal negligence. This allows explaining why the first judgement in the L’Aquila trial (2012) is not convincing, having misunderstood how policy-relevant science should participate in prevention processes and the construction of normative standards. In his conclusions, the author suggests some reasons for the recent tendency to blame experts when natural or technological disasters occur
