Influence of supramolecular forces on the linear viscoelasticity of gluten
Stress relaxation behavior of hydrated gluten networks was investigated by means of rheometry combined with μ-computed tomography (μ-CT) imaging. Stress relaxation behavior was followed over a wide temperature range (0–70 °C). Modulation of intermolecular bonds was achieved with urea or ascorbic acid in an effort to elucidate the presiding intermolecular interactions over gluten network relaxation. Master curves of viscoelasticity were constructed, and relaxation spectra were computed revealing three relaxation regimes for all samples. Relaxation commences with a well-defined short-time regime where Rouse-like modes dominate, followed by a power law region displaying continuous relaxation concluding in a terminal zone. In the latter zone, poroelastic relaxation due to water migration in the nanoporous structure of the network also contributes to the stress relief in the material. Hydrogen bonding between adjacent protein chains was identified as the determinant force that influences the relaxation of the networks. Changes in intermolecular interactions also resulted in changes in microstructure of the material that was also linked to the relaxation behavior of the networks

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Abstract 5210: Differential cytotoxic effects of Piperlongumine analogues and their radiotherapeutic response in breast cancer
Proceedings: AACR Annual Meeting 2017; April 1-5, 2017; Washington, DCBackground: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United Kingdom. The glutathione (GSH) system is a major redox buffering system involved in regulating radioresponse of cancer cells. Overexpression has been shown to cause multidrug and radiation resistance. Its modulation may increase radiosensitivity and improve radiotherapy efficacy. Piperlongumine (PL) can reportedly inhibit GSH system function and reduce proliferation of a variety cancer cells in vitro. The current study investigates novel PL analogues to determine efficacy in triple-negative (TNBC) and luminal breast cancer cell lines, as both single agents and in combination with ionising radiation.Methods: Two novel PL analogues (LH91 and LH92) were used along with the parental drug, PL. Cell proliferation assays were conducted in MDA-MB-231 (TNBC) and T47D (luminal) lines at various drug concentrations and times. At 48hr post treatment, cells were also assessed for clonogenic survival. Clonogenic radiosensitisation was assessed by treating with PL agents or L-buthionine-S, R-sulfoximine (BSO, a well characterised GSH radiosensitiser) for 48hr then irradiation with 0-8Gy X-rays. ROS levels were evaluated using H2DCFDA flow cytometry following IC50 drug treatment alone or with subsequent exposure to 1mM H2O2 for 1hr.Results: PL, LH91 and LH92 inhibited proliferation and decreased clonogenic survival in both lines. From proliferation assays, MDA-MB-231 cells were more sensitive to PL at 48hr (P=0.047) and 72hr (P=0.01) with an IC50 dose of approx. 4μM versus approx. 12μM in T47D�s. There was a significant difference between IC50 doses of LH91 in MDA-MB-231 (5μM) and T47D (12μM) cell lines at 72hr (P=0.006), however this was not observed at 48hr treatment (P=0.178). In contrast, there was no differential sensitivity of LH92 in cell proliferation between the two cell lines at 48 and 72hr. Interestingly, in clonogenic assays, MDA-MB-231�s were more sensitive to LH92 (P=0.01) with an IC50 of 4μM versus 11μM in T47D�s. There were no significant differences in clonogenic survival between each line after treatment with PL or LH91. No radiosensitisation was observed with PL or PL analogues in MDA-MBA-231 however BSO, as a drug comparator, enhanced radiation response with a sensitizer enhancement ratio (SER) of 1.13 at 1% iso-survival. Radiation and drug combinations in T47D cells are ongoing. There were no changes in ROS levels with the drug alone in MDA-MB-231; however, with subsequent exposure of H2O2, there was a 1.7-fold increase in ROS level with LH91 at 48hr (P=0.002).Conclusion: The TNBC cell line is more sensitive to the cytotoxic effect of PL agents (PL and LH91 in cell proliferation and LH92 in clonogenic assays) in comparison to the luminal cell line; however no altered radiosensitisation was observed. Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Effects of 5210 nutrition management program in weight management of adolescents
Amaç: Araştırmanın amacı öğrencilerden oluşan deney grubuna (11-12 yaş grubu kilolu ve obez) uygulanan 5210 kilo yönetimi programının öğrencilerin Beden Kitle İndeksi (BKİ), bel çevresi, beslenme – egzersiz tutum ve davranışları üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Bu çalışma yarı deneysel olarak yapıldı. Araştırma örneklemini İstanbul’da aynı ilçede iki özel okulda öğrenim gören 34 kontrol grubu ve 31 deney grubu olmak üzere toplam 65 adölesan oluşturdu. Araştırmanın verileri Antropometrik Ölçüm Formu, Öğrenci Sağlıklı Yaşam Anketi, Aile Bilgi Formu, Beslenme Egzersiz Tutum Ölçeği (BETÖ) ve Beslenme Egzersiz Davranış Ölçeği (BEDÖ) kullanılarak toplandı. Veriler uygulama öncesinde, uygulama sonrası 6. ayda ve 9. ayda olmak üzere toplam üç ölçümde toplandı. Çalışmanın analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistiksel testler, Student’s t test, Mann Whitney U, tekrarlı ölçümlerde varyans analizi, düzeltilmiş Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks test ve Pearson Ki-Kare test kullanıldı. Bulgular: Deney ve kontrol grupları arasında ölçümlerde BKİ dağılımları ve ortalamaları bakımından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık saptanmamasına karşın (p>0,05) deney grubunda, 1.ölçüm (başlangıç) BKİ dağılımlarına göre 2.ölçüm (6.ay) ve 3. ölçümde (9.ay) gözlenen değişimin istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu saptandı (p0,05). Buna göre kontrol grubu kilo almaya devam ederken deney grubunun normal gelişimlerini sürdürdüğü ve kontrol grubuna göre daha az kilo aldıkları söylenebilir. Deney grubunun girişim öncesi BETÖ ölçeği puan ortalaması 47,77 ± 6,25, 2. ölçüm 47,16 ± 7,98, 3. ölçüm 48,52 ± 7,48 olarak bulundu. Sonuç: 5210 kilo yönetimi programının adölesanların BETÖ, BEDÖ ve alt ölçekleri puan ortalamalarını etkilemediği bulundu. Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda 5210 programının çoklu girişimler eklenip süresi arttırıldığında daha etkili olacağı düşünüldü. 10-12 yaş grubuna yönelik 5210 mesajlarını içeren 12 saatlik bir eğitim programı geliştirildi. Eğitime ilişkin görsel metaryaller ve sunumlar hazırlandı, seansların amaç ve hedeflerini içeren içerik kitapçığı oluşturuldu. Bu program ve materyaller daha geniş bir örneklemde kullanılabilir.Aim: The purpose of the study is to examine the impact of 5210 weight management program executed to students (11-12 year olds are overweight and obese students) on attitudes and behaviors towards Body Mass Index (BMI), waist circumference on the nutritional habits. The research was conducted in semi-experimental semi-empirical model. Material and Methods: Sample of research is compose of 65 teenagers of which 34 control group (16 obese and 18 overweight) and 31 controlgroup (14 obeseand 17 overweight) in 2 separate schools in the same district of Istanbul. Experimental/Control groups had been formed by choosing the obese and overweight students in the both schools. The data of research had been collected via Anthropometric Measurement Form, Survey on Student Healthy Life, Family Information Form, Scale of Attitudetowards Nutritionand Fitness (SANFSBNF), and Scale of Behavior of Nutritionand Fitness (BEDÖ). Data was measured three times of which before execution of program and 6 and 9 months after execution of education. Results: Inspite of it is determined that there is significant difference in the BMI distributions and BMI averages of first measurement, second measurement and third measurement in experimental and control groups (p>0,05), the change in the BKİ averages is statistically significant in from 2 nd measurement of BMI averages compared with initial measurement in experimental groups to 3rd measurement (p0,05). Control group keepgo on get weight while experimental group was growing up normally and get lower weight compared with control group. Averages of SANF scale are calculated as 47,77 ± 6,25 at the initiation of program 47,16 ± 7,98 at the second measure and 48,52 ± 7,48 at the third measure. 5210 weight management is not effective on both SANF averages, SBNF averages and their subscales. A training program of 12 hours totaling 2 to 6 weeks a week, including. Conclusion: 5210 messages for the 10-12 age group, was developed. Educational visual materials and presentations were created and an educational content booklet containing course content plans, goals and objectives of the sessions was created. These programs and materials can be used in a wider sample. Furter study is needed to 5210 program will be effective via multiple additives and longer term durations
