    Battery plug-in electric vehicle : completing the chassis build and related sub-assemblies

    This Final Year Project report serves to document as detailed as possible the further work on the NTU battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) or Nanyang Venture VII which is into its 5th year. The author’s role in the student team is to fabricate the chassis parts on the first half of the project duration. After which, major components such as parking brake, reinforcement bumper, seats and seat belts are integrated by the author. In the initial phase, the author reviewed previous team work to determine what they have done and how the work will be continued. The author also has to undergo training on machining skills and manufacturing processes and of the various components to better understand how to integrate the parts. Only parts and components that the author fabricate for the chassis will be mentioned with emphasis on how it was completed. Assembly of the sub-frames, gearbox and the motor will be briefly mentioned which was a team effort. A list of future work will also be discussed. Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering

    Peningkatan Performansi Membran Selulosa Asetat Dengan Penambahan Zeolit Alam Ujong Pancu, Kabupaten Aceh Besar pada Pemisahan Campuran Etanol-Air Secara Pervaporasi

    The aim of this research is to study the influence of modification of cellulose acetate membranes by additing natural zeolite of Ujong Pancu towards the membrane performances (permeation flux and selectivity of the membrane) on the separation of ethanol-water mixture by pervaporation. This study consists of six stages, namely preparation of natural zeolite (including activation), the manufacture of cellulose acetate membranes, the manufacture of cellulose acetate membranes added with natural zeolite, membrane characterization, and application of membrane separation as a medium of ethanol-water mixtures by pervaporation experiments and the stability of the membrane test. Variation of feed concentration selected was 75; 85; 90; 95.6, and 98 wt % ethanol. Membrane characterization tests was carried out by sorption on a variety of feed concentration and operating temperature of 60 °C and the test of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Membrane permeation flux and selectivity is determined by the mechanism of mass transfer through the membrane. Pervaporation done with thin film cellulose acetate dense membran produced with the phase inversion method through solvent evaporation. Pervaporation conducted continuously where the feed was continuously circulated at 60 °C operating temperature and downstream pressure 0.5 mbar. Cellulose acetate membrane without zeolite and cellulose acetate membranes with the addition of natural zeolites have been produced and the performance has been investigated. Both type of the membranes have high selectivity to water. Modification of cellulose acetate membranes with natural zeolite affect the performance of the membrane where permeation flux and selectivity of the membrane increased on ethanol-water mixture separation by pervaporation. The addition of zeolite showed the optimum result at the composition of 20 wt % zeolite to the weight of cellulose acetate. In addition, it appears that the membrane is stable at the same operating conditions. Hydrophilic properties of cellulose acetate and the polarity of zeolite membranes has led to a tendency to absorb water molecules compared to ethanol, thus it is able to increase the ethanol concentration from 95.6 wt % to be 99.8 wt %. The highest selectivity of the membrane that can be achieved in this study is 843, obtained by additing 20 wt % zeolite to cellulose acetate membrane and the concentration of the feed 98 wt % ethanol and 60 °C operating temperature. Permeation flux of water at these conditions was 0.79 kg/m2.h and total permeation flux was 0.84 kg/m2.jam. To the best knowledge of the author, this is the first report about natural zeolite membrane with ratio of Si/Al = 3,3 after activated.Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari pengaruh modifikasi membran selulosa asetat dengan penambahan zeolit alam Ujong Pancu terhadap unjuk kerja membran (fluks permeasi dan selektifitas membran) pada pemisahan campuran etanol-air secara pervaporasi. Penelitian ini terdiri dari enam tahap yaitu persiapan zeolit alam (termasuk aktivasi), pembuatan membran selulosa asetat, pembuatan membran selulosa asetat yang ditambahkan zeolit alam, karakterisasi membran, dan aplikasi membran sebagai media pemisah campuran etanol-air dengan percobaan pervaporasi serta uji kestabilan membran. Variasi konsentrasi umpan yang dipilih adalah 75; 85; 90; 95,6; dan 98 % (w/w) etanol. Karakterisasi membran dilakukan dengan uji sorpsi pada berbagai konsentrasi umpan dan temperatur operasi 60 oC serta uji Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Fluks permeasi dan selektifitas membran ditentukan oleh mekanisme perpindahan massa melalui membran tersebut. Pervaporasi dilakukan dengan membran selulosa asetat dense berbentuk film tipis yang dibuat dengan metoda inversi fasa melalui penguapan pelarut. Pervaporasi dilakukan secara kontinyu di mana umpan disirkulasikan secara terus menerus pada temperatur operasi 60 oC dan tekanan downstream 0,5 mbar. Membran selulosa asetat tanpa zeolit dan selulosa asetat dengan penambahan zeolit alam telah dibuat dan performansinya telah diteliti. Kedua jenis membran tersebut memiliki sifat selektif terhadap air yang tinggi. Modifikasi membran selulosa asetat dengan zeolit alam berpengaruh terhadap unjuk kerja membran di mana fluks permeasi dan selektifitas membran meningkat pada pemisahan campuran etanol-air secara pervaporasi. Penambahan zeolit optimum adalah pada komposisi 20 % (w/w) zeolit terhadap berat selulosa asetat. Di samping itu terlihat bahwa membran tersebut stabil pada kondisi operasi yang sama. Sifat hidrofilik selulosa asetat dan kepolaran zeolit telah menyebabkan kecenderungan membran menyerap molekul air dibandingkan etanol sehingga telah dapat meningkatkan konsentrasi etanol dari 95,6 % (w/w) etanol menjadi 99,8 % (w/w) etanol. Selektifitas membran tertinggi yang dapat dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah 843 yang diperoleh dari membran selulosa asetat dengan penambahan 20 % (w/w) zeolit terhadap selulosa asetat dan konsentrasi umpan 98 % (w/w) etanol serta temperatur operasi 60 oC. Fluks permeasi air pada kondisi tersebut adalah 0,79 kg/m2.jam dan fluks permeasi total 0,84 kg/m2.jam.       Abstrak   Kerah pada busana merupakan penampilan dekoratif dan fungsional yang menarik sepanjang perkembangan mode. Dengan memvariasikan bentuk kerah, maka sudah berbeda pula garis-garis atau siluet busana itu sendiri. Dalam penulisan skripsi ini penulis mengambil sistem pola Porrie Muliawan pada hasil jadi kerah ½ rebah dengan garis leher yang dibesarkan terlebih dahulu menurut kehendak, dengan pertimbangan bahwa sistem pola kerah ½ rebah pada garis kerah pas leher tersebut sering digunakan sebagai bahan referensi atau pemberian materi pelajaran menjahit di Pendidikan formal maupun non formal, khususnya di kejuruan tata busana.   Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pedoman observasi yang terdiri atas lembar observasi atau format atau blangko pengamatan yang berisi item tentang kejadian yang digambarkan akan terjadi dan penilaiannya dilakukan dengan memberi tanda check list (√) pada daftar yang disediakan dan diisi oleh observer secara langsung tanpa perantara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk hasil jadi kerah ½ rebah dengan perbandingan konstruksi pola bahu yang ditumpuk 2:4:6:8 cm menurut metode Porrie Muliawan, adalah teknik analisis deskriptif dengan presentase. Untuk mendeskripsikan hasil jadi kerah ½ rebah yang polanya ditumpuk dengan perbandingan 2:4:6:8 menurut metode Porrie Muliawan Dan mengetahui hasil jadi kerah ½ rebah yang terbaik pada blus katun dengan  perbandingan 2 :4 : 6: 8 menurut metode Porrie Muliawan. Hasil jadi kerah ½ rebah pada tumpukan 2 cm dinilai cukup baik karena memenuhi dua kriteria dari ketiga aspek dan yang terbaik dengan kategori nilai baik pada aspek kerapian(40%), pada tumpukan 4 cm dinilai cukup baik karena memenuhi dua kriteria dari ketiga aspek dan yang terbaik dengan kategori nilai baik pada aspek kestabilan(57%), pada tumpukan 6 cm dinilai baik karena memenuhi tiga kriteria dari kedua aspek dan terbaik dengan kategori nilai sangat baik pada kedua aspek yaitu aspek jatuhnya kerah(47%) dan aspek kestabilan(50%). Pada tumpukan 8 cm dinilai baik karena memenuhi tiga kriteria dari ketiga aspek dengan prosentase lebih dari separuh observer memilih jatuhnya kerah(64%) dan aspek kstabilan(57%) sebagai yang terbaik dan hanya satu aspek dengan kategori cukup pada aspek kesesuaian desain. Hasil jadi kerah ½ rebah yang terbaik adalah kerah ½ rebah dengan  tumpukan pada bahu 6 cm karena dinilai sangat baik pada aspek   jatuhnya kerah dan aspek kestabilan serta dinilai baik pada aspek kerapian dan aspek kesesuaian dengan desain.     Kata kunci: Kerah ½ rebah, metode Porrie Muliawan, blus katun     Abstract   Collar on clothing is decorative and functional appearance of interest throughout the development mode. By varying the shape of the collar, then have different lines or silhouette of the clothing itself. In the writing of this thesis the author took the system patterns Porrie Muliawan on results so the collar neck with lines that fall was raised in advance according to the will, with the consideration that the collar pattern system fell on the neck the collar of the fitting lines are often used as reference material or giving lessons to sew in the formal and non formal education, particularly vocational fashion layouts. The Instrument used in this research is the observation of guidelines consisting of observation or sheet format or blangko observations that contains items about the events depicted occur and judgments made by giving a check list (√) on the list of provided and required by the observer directly without intermediaries. Data analysis techniques used for results so the collar fell in comparison with construction pattern shoulder stacked 2: 4: 6: 8 cm by Muliawan Porrie, method is descriptive analysis techniques with percentage. To describe the results so that the pattern of falling collar stacked with comparison 2: 4: 6: 8 according to methods and to know the results of Muliawan Porrie so collars are best laid on cotton blouse with a ratio of 2: 3: 6: 8 according to Porrie Muliawan method. The results so the collar fell on a pile of 2 cm rated fairly well due to meet two of the three aspects of the criteria and the best with good value category on neatness (40%), on a stack of 4 cm rated fairly well due to meet two of the three aspects of the criteria and the best with good value category on aspects of stability (57%), on a pile 6 cm rated good because it meets the three criteria of both aspects and best value category very well on these two aspects, namely the aspects the fall of the collar (47%) and stability (50%). On a stack of 8 cm rated good because it meets the three criteria of these three aspects, with a percentage of more than half the observer chooses fall collar (64%) and kstabilan (51%) aspects as the best and only one aspect of the category is quite on the suitability of the design.     Acceptance of internet banking among FELDA settlers in Bukit Tangga

    Using an already developed model for measuring the quality of online services and its acceptance, the author of this thesis has developed and later on modified a theoretical model (instrument) for measuring the quality and acceptance by people of online banking services particularly in FELDA Bukit Tangga. Using quantitative research method including the design and distribution of a set of questionnaire, empirical data was collected on which statistical analysis has been performed. As a result of the conducted analysis, the initial theoretical model has been modified, so that the final version of the model (instrument) for measuring quality and acceptance of online banking services includes four quality dimensions (Service Performance, Website Characteristics, Communication and Efficiency) with total of 29 items (questions). Furthermore, based on the modified theoretical model, people's acceptance with different aspects of the online banking services has been evaluated.     Many tahfidz Al-Qur'an huts have better quality than Beta huts. In addition, a santri needs other activities besides memorizing the Qur'an to support their future life. This paper will thoroughly explain the method and other activities that exist through the results of the research. In this paper at least the author will discuss 1). What are the methods of the Tahfidzul Al-Qur'an Program at this Beta cottage? 2). Are there activities other than the Tahfidz Al-Qur'an Program at this Beta cottage?. In the results of the study, the authors conclude that there are several methods of tahfidz Al-Qur'an applied by Pondok Beta, the first is ziyadah, second, muroja'ah, third, tahsin qira'at and the fourth is sema'an. Not only the method, in this Beta cottage, the students are also given charitable advice to keep their memorization from being lost or forgotten, namely by performing tahajjud prayers and voluntary fasting. Then in this beta cottage also has other activities besides memorizing the Qur'an, namely sorogan scriptures, angklung art, bandongan, tambourines, speech exercises and English exercises. Pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode penelitian lapangan (field research). Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa pelaksanaan penilaian hasil belajar Tahfidzul Qur’an usia dewasa di Yayasan Griya Al Qur’an Surabaya dilaksanakan sebanyak 4 kali dalam setahun, yaitu meliputi penilaian tengah semester (PTS) ganjil, penilaian akhir semester (PAS), penilaian tengah semester (PTS) genap dan penilaian akhir tahun (PAT). Bentuk penilaian yang digunakan adalah menggunakan tes lisan, sedangkan instrument penilaian menggunakan tanya jawab dengan tujuan untuk mengkonfirmasi atau mengecek kualitas hafalan masing-masing siswa. Terdapat 2 bentuk tes yang digunakan dalam penilaian pembelajaran tahfidz, yaitu: 1) Tes baca simak. Siswa membaca secara utuh 2 juz terakhir dari keseluruhan hafalan yang dimiliki dengan disimak olah teman belajarnya. 2) Tes sambung ayat. Penguji membacakan potongan ayat, kemudian siswa yang diuji melanjutkan bacaan ayat yang telah dibaca oleh penguji. Soal sambung ayat terdiri dari 4 soal yang ditentukan secara acak. Untuk soal penilaian tengah semester (PTS) diambilkan dari 2 juz terakhir yang telah dilakukan tes baca simak sebelumnya, sedangkan untuk soal penilaian akhir semester (PAS) dan penilian akhir tahun (PAT) diambilak dari semua hafalan yang telah dimiliki oleh siswa. Siswa dinyatakan lulus ketika mendapatkan nilai minimal C dengan skor 80 dan sebaliknya dinyatakan mengulang ketika mendapatkan nilai D dengan skor 75
