Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textFragments of an inscribed earthware found in Lezoux (Puy-de-Dôme).
The fragments were found in a preventive excavation, in one of the Gallo-Roman areas of Lezoux dedicated to the production of pottery : the area “of Maringues road”. These are five sherds, matching one another into two groups, and belonging to the Dragendorff 37 type. Although found in two different places, they belong to one and the same bowl. The writing resembles that of “Plat de Lezoux” (L-70), which was found in a near-by field. The linguistic analysis shows a recurrence of inflected endings (-in, -tionin). The word abro could be a verb meaning “to give”, indicating then that this text tells of a donation. It would be possible to interpret nededin as the «possession» , and appissu as a cognate of Latin acquiro.Les fragments ont été découverts en 2015 dans une fouille préventive, dans l’un des quartiers gallo-romains de Lezoux dédiés à la production de poterie : le quartier «de la route de Maringues» . Ce sont cinq tessons formant deux groupes de fragments jointifs, appartenant à la forme Dragendorff 37. Bien que trouvés en deux endroits distincts, ils appartiennent à la même coupe. L’écriture est proche de celle du «Plat de Lezoux» (L-70) qui avait été trouvé dans une parcelle voisine.
L’analyse linguistique fait apparaître la récurrence de finales fléchies (-in, -tionin). La forme abro pourrait être un verbe signifiant «donner» ; il s’agirait donc d’un texte de donation. No full textThe excavation conducted at the École Supérieure de Commerce in may andjune 1990 has, in conjunction with those carried out in 1986 in the rue Audollent and boulevard Gergovia, helped to distinguish the different phases of urbanisation of a residential quarter o/Augustonemetum. It has revealed the arrangement of the site in terraces, as well as the construction ot two successive town-houses between the second quarter of the Is1 and the 3rd centuries AD. The study of the comparatively rich archaeological material sheds light on the chronology of the phases ot this occupation.La fouille de l'École Supérieure de Commerce entreprise en mai et juin 1990 contribue, après celles effectuées en 1986 rue Audollent et boulevard Gergovia, à préciser les différentes phases d'urbanisation d'un quartier résidentiel d'Augustonemetum. Elle met en évidence l'aménagement du relief en terrasses et l'édification sur le site de deux domus qui se succèdent entre le deuxième quart du Ier siècle et le IIIe siècle après J.-C. Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
