During the 1970s, adding 'women's' to 'art' was a powerfully political act. Fuelled by the momentum of the women's liberation movement, artists, art historians, critics and curators began to explore the women's art practice, as distinct from men's, and to challenge its invisibility in the established art world and historical canon. In the 1980s, they continued to creatively critique representations of female sexuality, and in the 1990s, some began to embrace the 'post-feminist' idea of difference and the performance of gender. Throughout this pivotal period, the MAKE magazine offered a unique platform for academics, artists and arts professionals to critically engage with women's art. Though the need to talk about 'women's art' seemed to lose some of its political urgency in the early 2000s, many artists, art historians and art students are now once again explicitly engaging with feminist art histories and art practices as possible models and precedents for resistance. Now is the time to revisit the past, in order to understand and galvanise the energy of the present.Gathering together the work of eminent writers such as Griselda Pollock and Marina Warner, on celebrated artists such as Helen Chadwick, Sarah Lucas and The Guerrilla Girls, this unparalleled anthology of material from the MAKE archive allows us to trace the lineages and links between then and now. Maria Walsh and Mo Throp wrote the introductory chapter and also edited this book

After a summary of the main stages and the cultural and political context of Argentina between the 1930s and 1980s, the study will try to define how the events of these decades have influenced the structure of the country, both from a social-political point of view and from an economic point of view. The first general look at the historical context will serve to lay the foundations for the subsequent analysis of María Elena Walsh's biography and some of her works dedicated to her children's audience and more generally to understand her artistic production

Abstract : This Master Thesis is a cultural translation commented from Spanish to Brazilian Portuguese of the tales "En defensa propia", "Los nutrieros", "Losojos del traidor" and "El viaje circular", from the book Cuento para tahúresy otros relatos policiales, written by Rodolfo Jorge Walsh (1927-1977) between 1951 and 1961 and which were published in 1987, 10 years afterhis death. Walsh was one of the most significant Argentine writers of thet wentieth century, which revolutionized the literature of his time, not onlyin social and politic terms but also aesthetics issues. Our corpus consists oftales of the detective genre, this way, we find the best way to get to the source language (Spanish) the characteristics of this genre in the target language (Portuguese). The work presented here contains three chapters: the first being an introductory essay on the construction of Walsh as a writer, emphasizing the cop genre to which the tales, the object of this study belong; aiming to introduce him and his style to Brazilian readers; the second is to work with issues related to the project of translation: translating cultural commentary, which will provide theoretical support for the thirdand final chapter, in which he gives a presentation of the translation made with the submission of comments on the route

Following her pursuit of a radical practice based on psychoanalytical theories, LA-based Mary Kelly has become one of the most influential conceptual artists; her epic Post-Partum Document, 1973-79, is one of the movement's seminal artworks. Here, she discusses psychoanalysis, the development of Feminism, primal political scenes and non-monumental memorials. 'For me, Freudian psychoanalysis, and Lacan's reading of it, in particular, is more relevant. Its linguistic emphasis allows you to deal with the psychic structure of difference in ways that address sexuality in relation to other issues such as race and class. As Maud Mannoni says, "The specifically human environment is neither biological, nor social, but linguistic." That was my mantra for Post-Partum Document.

Walsh’s theoretical model identifies relational processes that allow families to tackle and overcome critical situations, dividing them into three domains of family function. The aim of this study was to assess resilience in families of patients with a chronic disease by adapting and validating the Italian version of the Walsh Family Resilience Questionnaire (Walsh-IT). Patients and methods: An Italian adult sample of 421 participants (patients and relatives) was collected with the aim to assess the reliability and validity of the Walsh-IT. Concurrent validity was carried out by comparing this instrument with the Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scale III (FACES III) administered at the same time as the Walsh-IT. Results: Reliability showed high correlation between repeated measurements. The alpha coefficient was 0.946. Both parallel analysis and minimum average partial criteria suggested that the best number of domains is equal to 3, explaining 50.4% of the total variance. Based on the results obtained from the Rasch analysis, items 10, 11, 16, 22, and 23 have been removed resulting in a short-form questionnaire (Walsh-IT-R) of 26 items with three domains: shared beliefs and support (SBS, α=0.928); family organization and interaction (FOI, α=0.863); and utilization of social resources (USR, α=0.567). The total score of the Walsh-IT-R was strongly correlated with the total score of FACES III Real Family Scale (r=0.68; p<0.0001). Conclusion: Results support that the Walsh-IT-R is a valid instrument for the assessment of family resilience in Italy when contending with the challenges of chronic disease. It could be used in pre- and post-assessment in practice effectiveness research, offering a profile of family resilience processes at the start and end of interventions and follow-up. Keywords: family resilience, chronic illness, assessment, Rasch model, family functionin
