Oral History Interview with Gabriel Robert Caggiano, December 7, 2007
The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Gabriel Robert Caggiano. Caggiano joined the Marine Corps in 1943. He completed boot camp at Parris Island in South Carolina and provides details of his training. He was assigned to Company G, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. They traveled to Pavuvu in the Solomon Islands for additional training. Over the next 2 years Caggiano participated in the Battle of Peleliu and the Battle of Okinawa as a Private First Class. He provides vivid details of his experiences throughout these battles. After getting wounded in battle he was sent back to the U.S. and honorably discharged from the service in November of 1945

TCC (graduação em Biblioteconomia) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, FlorianópolisPesquisa que teve por propósito o estudo de algumas contribuições de Gabriel Naudé para a sociedade no século XVII e verificou os possíveis reflexos dessas contribuições para a Biblioteconomia no século XXI. Foram abordadas questões relacionadas ao desenvolvimento da Biblioteconomia e da missão dos bibliotecários através dos séculos e mostrou o papel de Gabriel Naudé nessa evolução. Por tratar-se de uma pesquisa de caráter histórico-social, que utiliza o corpus documental como seu universo empírico, foram averiguados aspectos relacionados à vida de Gabriel Naudé, explorado o contexto histórico em que este viveu e analisadas quatro obras para o entendimento de sua atuação social e de seu pensamento filosófico e político. As obras analisadas foram "Le Marfore ou discours contre les libelles" (1620) ; "Apologie pour tous les grands personnages qui ont esté faussement soupçonnez de magie " (1625); "Advis pour dresser une bibliothèque" (1627) e "Considérations politiques sur les coups d'État (1639)" Centrado nos aspectos sociais, e por tomar como exemplo Gabriel Naudé, procurou-se formar um entendimento do papel social do bibliotecário como agente transformador na sociedade
