This thesis seeks to explore the many possibilities that lie within the incorporation of the voice alongside playing the violin. This territory is still very unknown, and the author believes that many new artistic possibilities and tools are yet to be discovered. The attempts made seek to understand the difficulties and limitations of the incorporation of the voice, while discovering its bountiful treasures."Terje Vigen" by Ivar BøksleArrangement by Olav Eirik LølandViolin and vocal - Olav Eirik LølandKonserten börjar efter två minuter.</p

St Olav and the Octagon of Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim – a Nordic Martyrion?
Nidaros Cathedral in Norway was built above the grave site of King Olav Haraldsson, who was killed in 1030 and canonized and enshrined in 1031. His shrine was later places on the high altar of the cathedral which was placed above his grave. The cult of St Olava spread rapidly in the Norse cultural sphere and he was known as rex et martiris, later also as rex perpetuus Norwegie. In c.1180 Archbishop Eystein of Nidaros began building an octagon around the saint’s grave, completed c.1220. This article argues that early Christian and medieval martyria were the models and inspiration for the design of the octagon, especially the Holy Sepulcher Church in Jerusalem as it was rebuilt c.1150. The article argues for an Augustinian connection transmitting the inspirations from Jerusalem to Nidaros. Both the liturgy and legends of St Olav stressed the similarities and parallels between the passions of St Olav and Christ, and the Nidaros octagon is presented as an architectural parallel to the written history. Between 1510 and 1522 a large part of the octagon was carefully dismantled and reassembled at great cost. The author argues that this reflects a renewed interest in the saint and the octagon, which might be inspired by the decision of Pope Julius II in 1506 to rebuild the Basilica of St Peter as a centralized church, with the apostle’s grave forming the central point

Musealised relations between life and work at the Olav H. Hauge Centre
This article investigates how one of the museums’ foremost communication tools, their exhibitions, negotiates the appearance of the Norwegian poet Olav H. Hauge’s life and literature, and the relations between them, by way of the exhibition’s material components and exhibition technologies. In the exhibition, authorship and author biography intersect and meet as a unique attribute of the exhibition space. How the author’s life and literature are communicated in the exhibitions and how the exhibition technologies affect the stories being told is the main focus of this analysis. Inspired by actor-network theory, the exhibition is analysed by situating museum props and exhibition technologies at the centre of the study. This article investigates how one of the museums’ foremost communication tools, their exhibitions, negotiates the appearance of the Norwegian poet Olav H. Author Disambiguation in PubMed: Evidence on the Precision and Recall of Author-ity among NIH-Funded Scientists.
We examined the usefulness (precision) and completeness (recall) of the Author-ity author disambiguation for PubMed articles by associating articles with scientists funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In doing so, we exploited established unique identifiers-Principal Investigator (PI) IDs-that the NIH assigns to funded scientists. Analyzing a set of 36,987 NIH scientists who received their first R01 grant between 1985 and 2009, we identified 355,921 articles appearing in PubMed that would allow us to evaluate the precision and recall of the Author-ity disambiguation. We found that Author-ity identified the NIH scientists with 99.51% precision across the articles. It had a corresponding recall of 99.64%. Precision and recall, moreover, appeared stable across common and uncommon last names, across ethnic backgrounds, and across levels of scientist productivity
Replication Data for: Experimental study of the mutual interactions between waves and tailored turbulence
This data set contains simultaneous stereoscopic Particle Image Velocimetry and LIF surface measurements, as well as probe data for the experiment described in the article titled "Experimental study of the mutual interactions between waves and tailored turbulence". This work is partially funded by the European Union (see funding information): Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the European Research Council. Lecideoid lichens of Prince Olav Coast and Soya Coast, Enderby Land, East Antarctica
Five species of lecideoid lichens belonging to three genera are reported as new to the flora of the Prince Olav Coast and the Soya Coast, Enderby Land, East Antarctica; they are Carbonea capsulata (DODGE & BAKER) HALE, Lecidea andersonii R. FILSON, Lecidea cancriformis DODGE & BAKER, Lecidea soyaensis M. INOUE and Lecidella siplei (DODGE & BAKER) M. INOUE. All are endemic to Antarctica. An examination was made of the collections from the region, which were collected mainly by the author under the project of the 27th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE-27,during January 1986 and February 1987). The type and authentic specimens of possibly related species have been restudied. Lecidea soyaensis M. INOUE is new to science and Lecidella siplei (DODGE & BAKER) M. INOUE is proposed as a new combination. Taxonomic and chemical data as well as a key to the known taxa are provided
