Coskuncelebi, Kamil/0000-0001-5713-6628; Vladimirov, Vladimir/0000-0001-7730-9725In the present study, mitotic chromosome numbers of 18 Tragopogon taxa from Turkey, including five endemic species, were counted. the plant material originates from 30 populations. the chromosome numbers of T. albinervis (2n = 12), T. dshimilensis (2n = 12), T. oligolepis (2n = 12), T. porrifolius subsp. abbreviatus (2n = 12) and T. subacaulis (2n = 12) are reported for the first time. the chromosome numbers are published for the first time from Turkish accessions, except for T. coloratus, T. latifolius var. latifolius, T. reticulatus, and T. porrifolius subsp. longirostris. of the studied plants 13 taxa proved to be diploid (2n = 12) and five taxa tetraploid (2n = 24). the chromosome numbers obtained from the present study are consistent with previous reports.TUBITAKTurkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Arastirma Kurumu (TUBITAK) [105T065, 110T954]The authors would like to express their thanks to TUBITAK [105T065 and 110T954] for financial support
ESENIAS and DIAS Networks and Highlights of the 7th ESENIAS Workshop with Scientific Conference 'Networking and Regional Cooperation towards Invasive Alien Species Prevention and Management in Europe'
Vladimirov, Vladimir/0000-0001-7730-9725; Kalcheva, Hristina/0000-0003-0200-9335WOS: 000422703200001Recently, the introductions and spread of invasive alien species (IAS) in Europe have increased and different regions are affected by their impact (East and South Europe, Danube Region). Two new regional networks have been created and developed: the East and South European Network for Invasive Alien Species (ESENIAS) and the Danube Region Invasive Alien Species Network (DIAS). Information about the establishment, structure, mission and activities of the two networks is presented. ESENIAS promotes awareness raising and capacity building initiatives at yearly workshops, conducts scientific research and exchanges and disseminates IAS information and research results by the ESENIAS Internet portal (www esenias.org) and by joint publications. The largest project implemented by the ESENIAS countries is the ESENIAS-TOOLS project funded by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 20092014. Currently, DIAS focuses on the completion of the DIAS strategy and work plan, as well as on the implementation of the Danube-IASapp project funded by the European Commission. The 7th ESENIAS Workshop with Scientific Conference 'Networking and Regional Cooperation Towards Invasive Alien Species Prevention and Management in Europe', co-organised by the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, ESENIAS and DIAS, was held on 28-30 March 2017, in Sofia, Bulgaria. The scientific outcomes of the Conference are reviewed here under the following topics: 1) Alien species trends in the ESENIAS countries: Introduction and establishment success; 2) Alien species trends in the ESENIAS countries: Range expansion; 3) Vectors and pathways of introduction and spread of alien species in the ESENIAS countries; 4) Invasive alien species traits; 5) Invasive alien species impact in the ESENIAS countries; and 6) Invasive alien species prevention and management
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
The Branding of Music Festivals: A Key to success/ Final concert
Kroz studije slučaja festivala Ultra Europe u Splitu i Tomorrowlanda u Belgiji prikazano je kako snažno brendiranje, inovativni marketinški pristupi i korištenje digitalnih tehnologija doprinose stvaranju globalnog identiteta festivala i privlačenju međunarodne publike. This paper explores the significance of branding in the context of music festivals and demonstrates how branding represents the key to success and long-term sustainability of such events. Starting from the historical and countercultural roots of festivals, the paper analyzes the ways in which they gradually evolved into commercial projects, where promotion, sponsorship, and media rights play a vital role. Special attention is given to sponsorships as a form of cooperation between organizers and companies, providing financial stability and increased visibility while raising concerns about commercialization and the loss of authenticity. Through case studies of Ultra Europe in Split and Tomorrowland in Belgium, the paper illustrates how strong branding, innovative marketing strategies, and the use of digital technologies contribute to building the global identity of festivals and attracting international audiences. The study also highlights the social dimension of festivals, such as fostering community and unity, while pointing out challenges related to local communities and environmental impact. The conclusion emphasizes that branding is a crucial element in creating a successful festival strategy, as festivals have become more than music events—they are powerful global brands shaping cultural and economic processes.
The aim of this term paper is to define the string instrument called "tambura samica" to describe its history, strumming techniques and how and where was tamburica samica played before, where is it played today and determine its purpose. Futhermore, it will be presented musical notation from my previous research and field reports. Slavonians and people in Baranja take pleasure in abundance of well-being, poetic and musical gift, which is natural to us, has had helped to create beautiful folk melodies. Many of them are country singers, flute, bagpipe and samica players. With this term paper I also want to show my affection for folklore music and old traditions, which I included in this term paper. Such things should not be forgotten
