Construction can be interpreted as a building or infrastructure unit in one or several areas. In Dony Damara's final assignment with the title Planning for Tourism Ship Design to Support Tourism on Lake Toba, the author has created a tourist ship design with the name M.V. Sitoba. The previous author has designed the lines plan and general arrangement. The results of this study are to get the modulus calculation of each component on the M.V. Sitoba, Transverse Frame = 17,57 cm³, Side Longitudinal = 21,36 cm³, Side Girder = 20,76 cm³, Tunnel Longitudinal = 18,99 cm³, Bottom Longitudinal = 25,737 cm³, Deck Girder = 13,183 cm³, than obtain the thickness of the fiberglass layer on all sides, and obtain a 3D construction drawings on the M.V. Sitoba tourist ships uses autocad software with a distance of 0,5 meters for each component

The author in this article in a volume edited by himself and the colleague M.V. Fontana, devoted originally to the 75° birthday of Prof. U. Scerrato and later to his memory, is dealing with his archaeological activities beyond the frontiers of the Iranian Empires. In particular he is emphasizing the work made during the late 80s of the last Century in southern Turkmenistan and the first trial-trenches there conducted in 2001 and 2002 on a small tepe of the Yaz III horizon, and strategically located in a very crucial point of the Merv oasis. Furthermore the author is also giving a short note on the topographical work on the Bukhara oasis, conducted in 2000 and 2001 in collaboration with the Università degli Studi di Roma, La Sapienza, starting from the northern site of Vardanzeh to Bukhara and Pajkent

Non-heroic heroes: Two approaches to the analysis of media images∗

    No full text
In the contemporary society, media ‘heroes’ are one of the most influential reference groups, which determines our perception of our own life in terms of happiness, success, justice, well-being, or, on the contrary, in opposite terms. The article is a review of two books: Salakhieva-Talal T. Psychology in Cinema: How to Make Heroes and Stories. Moscow: Alpina non-fiction; 2019. 349 p.; and Lilti A. The Invention of Celebrity. Transl. from French by P.S. Kashtanova. Saint Petersburg: Ivan Limbakh Publishing House; 2018. 496 p. The author believes that such works are necessary to broaden the horizons of the sociologist focusing on the development of social representations of happiness, justice and well-being: these works explain psychological and visual (the first book) and historical and media (the second book) prerequisites and tools for creating ‘heroes’ as role models. © M.V. Efficacy of sugarcane bagasse to produce bacterial biofilm in water for fish culture

    No full text
The present study has been conducted to understand the efficacy of sugarcane bagasse to produce bacterial biofilm in water. The study period was 90 days. Total Plate count (TPC) in water and substrate was estimated on nutrient agar at room temperature by spread plate method. The TPC in water was the highest (2.10 x 104 ml–1) after 45 days. The average TPC of bacteria on bagasse varied from 140.0 (15d) to 30.25 (90d) x104·g–1. The present study demonstrates that the sugarcane bagasse can produce more bacteria in water thereby the fish can effectively utilize biofilm grown on sugarcane bagasse and provision of a substrate reduces the need for artificial feed.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Efficacy of sugarcane bagasse to produce bacterial biofilm in water for fish culture M.V. Absorption and action spectra analysis of ammonium fluoride-doped titania photocatalysts

    No full text
The photocatalytic behaviour of a series of ammonium fluoride (NH4F)-doped titania (TiO2) photocatalysts was investigated in the decomposition of acetic acid in aqueous suspensions and in the gas phase mineralization of acetaldehyde. Very similar photocatalytic activity trends, usually increasing with increasing the calcination temperature for a given nominal dopant amount, were obtained for the two test reactions. Moderately doped TiO2 calcined at 700 °C, consisting of pure anatase, was the best performing photocatalyst in both reactions. The photocatalytic oxidation of acetic acid was investigated systematically as a function of irradiation wavelength, by collecting so-called action spectra. By comparing the shapes of the action spectra with those of the absorption spectra of the investigated photocatalysts a model is proposed, based on spectral features deconvolution, which allows a clear distinction between inactive light absorption and effective photoactivity in acetic acid decomposition
