Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Lean päivittäisjohtamisen kehittämisen työvälineenä : Carlsberg Excellence
Get PDFOpinnäytetyössä kehitettiin logistiikkakeskuksen päivittäisjohtamista Leanin ja Carlsberg Excellence -viitekehyksen mukaisesti. Kehittämistyön tuloksena tavoiteltiin toimintamallia, joka parantaa operatiivista tehokkuutta, vahvistaa eri henkilöstöryhmien yhteistyötä ja tukee organisaation kykyä saavuttaa strategiset tavoitteet pitkällä aikavälillä. Työn lähtökohtana oli tarve yhtenäistää käytäntöjä, vähentää tiedonkulun katkoksia ja lisätä päivittäisjohtamisen systemaattisuutta.
Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin toiminnallisena kehittämistyönä. Keskeisinä menetelminä käytettiin nykytilan kartoitusta SWOT-analyysin avulla sekä kahta palautekyselyä, joiden avulla arvioitiin mallin kehittymistä ja sen vakiintumista. Tuloksia hyödynnettiin uuden PMS2-taulupalaverin kehittämisessä.
Tulosten perusteella toimintamalli selkeytti palaverikäytäntöjä, vahvisti osallistujien sitoutumista ja paransi viestintää organisaation sisällä. PMS2-taulupalaveri nousi tärkeäksi viestikanavaksi, ja sen koettiin tukevan erityisesti operaattoreiden, työnjohdon ja kunnossapidon työtä. Haasteiksi nousivat prioriteettien selkeyttäminen, KPI-poikkeamiin reagoiminen sekä Lean-menetelmien systemaattinen hyödyntäminen.
Päätelmänä todettiin, että Lean-johtamisen ja Carlsberg Excellencen yhdistäminen tarjoaa toimivan viitekehyksen päivittäisjohtamisen kehittämiselle, kunhan muutosprosessiin sisältyy riittävä osallistaminen, avoin viestintä ja selkeät vastuunjaot. Mallin pysyvä hyödyntäminen edellyttää johdon sitoutumista, säännöllistä arviointia ja jatkuvaa kehittämistä muuttuvissa olosuhteissa

Energiateollisuuden palveluliiketoiminnan kilpailukyvyn parantaminen projektinhallinnalla

Energiateollisuuden palveluliiketoiminnassa projektit toimitetaan yleisimmin perinteisellä ”avaimet käteen”-projektin toimitusmallilla. Diplomityön kohdeyrityksellä oli tarve tutkia, olisiko projektimallia vaihtamalla mahdollisuutta parantaa kilpailukykyä tässä työssä tarkastellun komponentin toimitusprojekteissa.
Tämän diplomityön kirjallisuuskatsauksessa tutkitaan, millä projektimalleilla teollisuudessa toimitetaan räätälöityjä investointihyödykkeitä. Tarkempaan tarkasteluun valikoitui kolme projektimallia, EPC-, EPCM- ja allianssimalli, jotka eroavat osin toisistaan. Projektimalleista oli tarkoituksena löytää erilaisia piirteitä, mitkä sopisivat kohdeyrityksen toimitusprojekteihin. Sen jälkeen työssä tehtiin haastatteluja, joiden avulla pyrittiin saamaan tietoa tärkeimmiltä projektien sidosryhmiltä, sekä tutkittiin case-projektissa käytettyä vaihtoehtoista projektimallia.
Työssä päädyttiin siihen, että ainakaan haastatellun tilaajan kanssa ei lähdetä kehittämään muita projektimalleja. Heidän näkemyksensä on se, että tarkasteltu komponentti halutaan toimitettavan perinteisesti ja että allianssimallilla ei ole mahdollisuuksia energiateollisuuden palveluliiketoiminnassa. Pohdintaa siirrettiin alihankkijan kanssa yhteistyön kehittämiseen. Pohdinnan jälkeen pystyttiin vaihtoehtoisista projektimalleista löytämään piirteitä, joita voitaisiin hyödyntää energiateollisuuden palveluliiketoiminnassa.
Työn lopussa on määritelty kehitysideoita, mitä kohdeyrityksen projekteissa pystyttäisiin hyödyntämään. Kehitysideat ovat toimijoiden aikainen valinta, tarjousrakenteen vakiointi ja tarkentaminen, bonus-sanktiojärjestelmä, komponentin vaihdon tuotteistaminen ja miniallianssimallin käyttäminen.Project management is key factor in project competitiveness. In service business of energy industry the projects are generally delivered by using turn-key delivery model. The target company of this thesis wanted to learn if there was a way to improve the competitiveness in specific component delivery projects.
In literary survey is studied what different project delivery models are used in industry to deliver tailored investment goods. For closer examination, three project models were selected, the EPC, EPCM and alliance models, which differ in some respects. The purpose of the literature survey was to find different features that would be suitable for the target company's delivery projects. This was followed by interviews aimed at obtaining information from key project stakeholders and an examination of the alternative project model used in the case project.
The work concluded that, at least with the interviewed client, no other project models will be developed. Their view is that the component under consideration is desired to be delivered traditionally and that the alliance model has no potential in the energy industry services business. Reflection was shifted towards a subcontractor to develop cooperation. After the discussion, it was possible to find features in alternative project models that could be utilized in the service business of the energy industry.
At the end of the work, development ideas have been defined that could be utilized in the projects of the target company. Development ideas include early selection of contractors, standardization and refinement of the offer structure, a bonus-sanction system, productisation of component replacement and the use of a mini-alliance model

No full textKiertoleijukattiloissa savukaasujen pienet partikkelit voivat tarrautua kiinni lämmönsiirtopintoihin ja muodostaa kerrostumia ajan kuluessa. Nämä kerrostumat huonontavat lämmönsiirtymistä, samalla polttoainetta kuluu enemmän ja syntyy enemmän haitallisia päästöjä. Tässä työssä on etsitty kirjallisuudesta tietoa kiertoleijukattilan toiminnasta, kerrostumien syntyyn vaikuttavista tekijöistä ja kerrostumien puhdistustekniikoista.
Sulan tuhkan aiheuttamaa kuonaantumista ei varsinaisesti tapahdu kiertoleijukattiloissa, koska lämpötila on alhaisempi kuin tuhkan sulamislämpötila. Likaantuminen on suurempi ongelma varsinkin huonolaatuisia polttoaineita poltettaessa. Biomassa sisältää likaantumista ja kuonaantumista aiheuttavia komponentteja, joiden vuoksi täytyy kehittää puhdistustekniikoita. Jokaisella puhdistustekniikalla on omat etunsa ja haittansa, ja ne käyvät tietynlaisen deposition poistoon, joten niitä ei voi listata paremmuusjärjestykseen.

No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
