Tese (doutorado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro Tecnológico, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Química, Florianópolis, 2014.Abstract : The focus of this work is to propose a model for the closure problem of the interfacial force density required for solution of the two-fluid model widely used in the description of multiphase flows. The closure models employed so far do use of the decomposition of the various phenomena that occur in the interaction among the phases as drag, drift, the development of hydrodynamic boundary layers, adverse pressure gradients and vorticity forces as Lift and Magnus force, just to name a few. Each one has its own mathematics description and correlations to calculate its coefficients for their respective settings. The latter are dependent on a series of dimensionless numbers as Reynolds number, and Morton, Eötvös, these being the principal. Generally, the correlations are dependent upon the system and degree of interaction of the phases as well as their dispersion within the fluid flow. This particular description and the wide range of correlations create new ways of solving problems so far unsolved and/or even unsolved, however, they are not generic and its applicability beyond the limits that were calibrated is an approach that must be evaluated and not always the results, after a long time of trial and error, are satisfactory. The work aims to deal with the closure problem of interfacial force density in a distinct way, modeling how the stress tensor acts on the interface without separating the effects categorizing them on the types mentioned above, and, let the flow itself "takes a decision" that forces act on the interface of fluids. The proposed methodology is detailed described in their physical and mathematical aspects and some benchmarks are chosen to do that. The coding has been made in the commercial code ANSYS CFX. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach to problems where the interface is well defined, such as free surface flows, even with local change of morphology, without, however, to present the same performance in dispersed flow with low void fractions. Nevertheless, the joint action of both approaches (the classical and the proposal) in the latter case has proved to be very efficient in capturing the physical behavior of a complex flow as a bubble column

This dissertation examines the work of the mineiro author (someone who was born in
the state of Minas Gerais). Milton Rezende and his poetic process. We have verified
that intertextuality is very recurrent in his poetry, so an analysis of the concept of
intertextuality has been conducted focusing on studies of Bakhtin and Julia Kristeva.
Another characteristic of the poet is to use heteronyms to write the foreword of his
books. We can see that the poems can be classified according to some cores that we
have established, and we have conducted a study from this criterion on. Milton was
influenced by various authors such as Augusto dos Anjos, Carlos Drummond de
Andrade, Fernando Pessoa and Álvares de Azevedo, but has his own style of writing
his poetry. Milton Rezende is an heir of occidental literature produced so far. His
poems usually re-read a theme highly esteemed to romanticism, death. His fondness
for cemeteries, funerals and rites of death is combined with an approach to
contemporary themes and a critical view of the society. He restates his subjectivity by
bringing back the memories of his town and his family and talking about his emotions
and feelings as a strategy to insert, in his poems, his social and political concerns.
The author inherits influences from romanticism and his texts repeat and reinvent the
romantic lyric. Themes of loneliness, love and death, that are characteristics of the
spleen, are frequently recurring in his poetry, so the need of studying the spleen in
Milton Rezende.
Outra característica do poeta é utilizar
textos repetem e reinventam a lírica romântica.
Cearagrylloides microcephalus Martins-Neto, n. comb.
Cearagrylloides microcephalus Martins-Neto, n. comb. (Figs. 2 B, E, G) 1. Cearagryllus microcephalus Martins-Neto, 1991. Specimens included. GP/ 1 T- 1680 (holotype), RGMN- 203, CV- 1699, and RGMN- 40 (510) New supplementary material. RGMN- 508. Emended diagnosis. Females with robust body, varying from 24 to 26 mm length; fore wing length varying from 24 to 28 mm; ovipositor length around 38 mm. Ovipositor 1.6 times longer than the body and/or the fore wing length. Head notably small, laterally elongated. ScP straight, not thickened; R parallel to ScP. MP unbranched; around six MP 2 secondary branches. r-m indistinct. Discussion. The specimen CV- 1699, with incompletely preserved ovipositor, was initially interpreted as belonging to the species Cearagryllus perforatorius (Martins-Neto, 1991), based just on the body and wing length. However, after re-examination of the venation of this specimen, it is now possible to verify that it belongs to Cearagrylloides microcephalus. In addition to the original characters assigned to the species (smaller body and head, longer ovipositor), the fore wing provided other important characters. In C. perforatorius ScP is sigmoid, distally divergent and basally thickened, in contrast to C. microcephalus, which exhibits a straight ScP, not thickened. Additionally, MA has typically three anterior secondary branches, not present in C. microcephalus. Another minor difference is a smaller number of MP secondary branches.Published as part of Martins-Neto, Rafael Gioia & Tassi, Lara Vaz, 2009, The Orthoptera (Ensifera) from the Santana formation (Early Cretaceous, Northeast Brazil): A statistical and paleoecological approach, with description of new taxa, pp. 21-37 in Zootaxa 2080 on page 28, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18734

Determinants of expatriate workers'remittances in North Africa and Europe
The authors review the theoretical literature on the determinants of international workers'remittances and then posit an empirical model that accounts for demographic, portfolio, and macroeconomic factors that - together with special incentive policies - determine official remittances. They estimated the model using data from five major labor-exporting countries of North Africa and Europe: Morocco, Portugal, Tunisia, Turkey, and the former Yugoslavia. The econometric results strongly corroborate the model's predictions and reveal interesting policy implications. In planning for the future growth of remittances, labor-exporting countries should explicitly take into consideration the history of migration, since an aging labor force abroad will be less inclined to remit. Labor-exporting countries should also account for the economic prospects of the major labor-receiving countries and for the geographical distribution of their migrant labor. The authors'results show that remittances are significantly affected by economic policies in the home (labor-exporting) countries. Special incentive schemes cannot substitute for a stable, credible macroeconomic policy.Economic Theory&Research,Economic Conditions and Volatility,Environmental Economics&Policies,Inequality,Banks&Banking Reform

Maria Valéria Rezende: coloring the invisible through literature
The life and work of Maria Valéria Rezende, with details of her literary work validated by the writer herself, is the subject of this text. Mostly formatted as an interview, it arose from the need to gathering critical resources for the thesis "Yarns of a spinning wheel and sentimental plots: weaver characters in O Continente, Os Sinos da Agoniaand O Voo da Guará Vermelha”, for the Literature\u27s Master Program of UTFPR, focused on the research within Literature, Society, and Inter-arts. Maria Valéria Rezende gave a two-part interview, first exchanging messages with the author by social media; and secondly by an interview over the phone, recorded on February 5, 2017, in a conversation lasting one hour and seven minutes. There is also an update in the text, equally validated by the author, in 31 July 2019. The essay begins with a compilation of Maria Valéria\u27s critical resources researched by the author, culminating in a back and forth interviewing structure, and being finalized with a conclusion, especially for this essay
