Characteristics of Dragons: An Analysis of How To Train Your Dragon and Raya And The Last Dragon
No full textThis research aims to describe the dragon’s characters and cultural background in the film How to Train Your Dragon and Raya and The Last Dragon. Both films feature mythological creatures as their main characters, making them attractive in contemporary cinema. The mythological creature used is the dragon, whose existence is still uncertain, whether real or purely imaginative. The researcher acknowledges the differences in the manifestation of characters from the same object, prompting an investigation to dicover influencing factors. In the compilation of this thesis, data from the films and previous relevant researches are used. In collecting the data, the researcher is using qualitative descriptive method. This research employs Graham Little's theory to describe characters through their physical appearance, social status, social relationship, and personality. In analyzing the cultural background, researcher is using Abraham's theory that focus on the specific place where the events occur or influence by. From this research, the author concludes that the dragon in each film brings their own physical appearance, social status, social relationship, and personality. No full textTechnological advances are currently developing very rapidly, especially in the fields of communication and information. Many people still don't realize that there are many social media that provide educational content for teaching materials. YouTube is one of the social media that has become a learning tool, one of which is the YouTube channel Riko The Series. In the animated series Riko The Series there are also several educational messages contained in it, one of which is the Character Value of Social Care. The research method used is a type of discourse analysis research developed by Teun A. Van Dijk, with a qualitative descriptive approach. Researchers will examine the content of educational messages in the animated series Riko The Series which contain social caring character values using Teun A. Van Dijk's discourse analysis model, namely in Episodes 1, 2, 3, 8, and 15. The results of the research and discussion can be drawn conclusions Overall, in Episodes 1, 2, 3, 8, 15 there are social care character values consisting of: a). Help, b). Apologize to each other, c). Caring for Others, d). Remind each other, e). Forgive. Through Teun A. Van Dijk's discourse strategy model, the author finds that the information in each sentence contained in the dialogue of the animated series "Riko The Series" is related to the information in other sentences, and has elements of coherence in it, so that a discourse structure is formed in the form of form and meaning. The characterization also seems to have a strong character. Teun A. Van Dijk's discourse analysis also captured information that the animation "Riko The Series" is one of the animations that has a socially caring character in accordance with the development of social attitudes in early childhood.Kemajuan teknologi saat ini berkembang dengan sangat pesat terutama pada bidang komunikasi dan informasi. Banyak orang yang masih belum menyadari banyak media sosial yang menyajikan konten edukasi untuk bahan pengajaran. Youtube menjadi salah satu media sosial yang sudah menjadi sarana pembelajaran, salah satunya channel Youtube Riko The Series. Pada serial animasi Riko The Series juga terdapat beberapa pesan Edukasi yang terkandung di dalamnya, salah satunya ialah Nilai Karakter Peduli Sosial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian analisis wacana yang dikembangkan oleh Teun A. Van Dijk, dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Peneliti akan meneliti isi pesan Edukasi pada Serial Animasi Riko The Series yang terdapat nilai karakter peduli sosial dengan menggunakan model analisis wacana Teun A. Van Dijk yaitu pada Episode 1,2,3,8, dan 15. Hasil penelitian dan pembahasan dapat ditarik kesimpulan secara keseluruhan bahwa pada Episode 1,2,3,8, 15 terdapat nilai karakter peduli sosial yang terdiri atas : a). Tolong-Menolong, b). Saling Meminta Maaf, c). Peduli Sesama, d). Saling Mengingatkan, e). Memaafkan. Melalui strategi wacana model Teun A. Van Dijk, penulis menemukan bahwa, informasi dalam setiap kalimat yang terdapat dalam dialog serial animasi "Riko The Series" berhubungan dengan informasi dalam kalimat lainnya, serta memiliki unsur-unsur koherensi di dalamnya, sehingga terbentuklah struktur wacana berupa bentuk dan makna. Penokohannya juga terlihat memiliki karakter yang kuat. Analisis wacana Teun A. Van Dijk juga menangkap informasi bahwa, animasi "Riko The Series" merupakan salah satu animasi yang memiliki karakter peduli sosial sesuai dengan perkembangan sikap sosial anak usia dini
The Hero’s Journey of The Leading Character in The Film My Father’s Dragon
No full textMy Father's Dragon (2022) is an animated film in the adventure-fantasy genre. This research discusses the journey and character development of the leading character in My Father's Dragon. The purpose of this study is to discover the stages of the hero's journey and character development of Elmer Elevator, as the leading character, using Joseph Campbell's hero's journey theory and the concept of character development from Roberts and Zweig. The writer conducted the research using descriptive qualitative method to collect data obtained from quotations of dialog or narrative statements and visual containing the stages of the leading character hero's journey in the scenes of My Father's Dragon. Based on data analysis, there are 12 out of 17 stages of the hero's journey that Elmer goes through in the film My Father's Dragon, which are the call to adventure, refusal of the call, supernatural aid, the crossing of the first threshold, the belly of the whale, the road of trial, woman as temptress, atonement with the father, apotheosis, the ultimate boon, the crossing of the return threshold and freedom to live. Although there are some stages that Elmer did not go through, he is still considered a hero because he achieved his goal and his character also develops during his journey.93 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

The researcher focuses on the analysis of theme based on intrinsic theory by Stanton. The data is taken in the form of scenes, and dialogues of the movie. This theory explains that the theme in a literary work is obtained from looking at other elements in a literary work such as plot, character, setting, and point of view. Researcher collected data from various sources including The Fallout movie, relevant books, articles, journals, and the internet to support the analysis. From the analysis carried out, the researcher concluded that the main theme of The Fallout movie is about the struggle of main characters’ life after experiencing a school shooting incident. Based on the analysis, this movie portrays the complexity of Cruella's character, in which the feelings of injustice and vengeance she feels lead her to extreme actions. The revenge in this movie taken by the main character is very unusual and unexpected. Keanekaragaman Udang Air Tawar di Sungai Kampar Provinsi Riau
No full textUdang air tawar merupakan anggota subfilum Crustacea, kelas Malacostraca, ordo Decapoda, infraordo Caridae, famili Palaemonidae, Atyidae dan Alpheidae. Genus Macrobrachium dari famili Palaemonidae memiliki persebaran paling luas di dunia. Lebih dari 240 spesies sudah terdeskripsi, 100 spesies diantaranya tersebar di Asia Timur dan Asia Tenggara (termasuk Indonesia). Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi keanekaragaman udang air tawar di Sungai Kampar Provinsi Riau. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada lima stasiun di Sungai Kampar dengan metode convenience sampling. Setiap sampel difoto dan disimpan dalam alkohol 70% untuk selanjutnya diidentifikasi dengan buku identifikasi Freshwater Invertebrates of the Malaysian Region. Udang air tawar yang didapatkan sebanyak 119 individu. Sampel yang didapatkan merupakan famili dari Palaemonidae genus Macrobrachium yang terdiri dari tiga spesies, yaitu: Macrobrachium malayanum, Macrobrachium lanchesteri dan Macrobrachium rosenbergii. Spesies yang paling banyak ditemukan di lima stasiun penelitian adalah Macrobrachium lanchesteri
