Seed Priming with Poly-Gamma-Glutamic Acid (γ-PGA) Improves Rice Germination Performance under Drought Conditions
Drought poses a significant threat to global food security, particularly impacting rice cultivation
during the germination stage. In this study, a soil-based system that utilizes soil moisture content
was used to simulate optimal and stress conditions to assess the effect of the specific seed priming
protocols on germination. Eleven rice varieties, representative of indica and japonica subspecies,
grown in different ecosystems and having diverse nutrient contents, were treated with water or
solutions of either poly-gamma-glutamic acid (γ-PGA) or denatured γ-PGA. Collected data regarding
germinability and stress indices revealed different drought sensitivity between japonica and indica
subspecies and genotype-specific responses to priming. Particularly, γ-PGA improved germination
of highly susceptible indica varieties whereas water soaking was more effective for the moderately
sensitive japonica varieties. Integrative analyses evidenced differences between biofortified and nonbiofortified
rice under γ-PGA treatment, suggesting a possible correlation between γ-PGA efficacy
and Zn/Fe seed content. These findings underline that priming strategies should be tailored based
on genotype and therefore this factor should be always taken under consideration for future works.
The current study provides relevant information for optimizing seed priming techniques to sustain
the development of drought-resilient crops as a sustainable strategy to address agricultural resilience
and safeguard food security amidst environmental challenges
"Papua Sebagai Saksi Injil Yesus Kristus” Sebuah Ibadah Kontekstual Etnis Papua
Konsep bentuk tugas akhir musik gereja disusun dengan menerapkan teologi kontekstual. Seluruh bagian dari liturgi baik lagu-lagu, bahasa, alat musik, tarian dan kostum menerapkan kekhasan budaya Papua.Untuk itu penulis mempelajari lagu-lagu dan tarian yang cocok untuk digunakan dalam ibadah.Berdasarkan pengetahuan ini maka penulis menentukan lagu dan tarian yang sesuai dengan tema ibadah.
Ibadah ini dilaksanakan pada 7 Februari 2015 di Manokwari dan menjadi bagian dari rangkaian peringatan hari ulang tahun masuknya Injil di tanah Papua. Dalam penyelenggaraan ibadah, jemaat menikmati dan ikut berpartisipasi baik dalam menyanyikan lagu dan menari bersama.
Penulis mengambil kesimpulan bahwa ibadah dengan konsep ini cocok diterapkan di komunitas Papua.Selain itu, ibadah ini dapat digunakan sebagai sebuah model alternatif untuk menjembatani dualisme keyakinan sebagian umat Kristen di Papua.This service is planned and conducted in the form of theological contextual worship. The liturgy of this worship consists of indigenous worship songs, native languages of Papua, musical instruments, traditional dances and traditional costumes that represent Papuan culture.
By using this form, the writer tries to apply songs and dances in the form of traditional worship that will be suitable in Church Worship for the people of Papua. Based on this knowledge, the writer will be able to choose songs and dances that will be applicable for this worship. In addition, the worship service was carried out on February 7th2015 in Manokwari and it became part of the ceremonial worship series of the Bible Evangelical Anniversary at Papua.
During the worship service, all congregations enjoyed and actively participated both in singing and in dancing. Accordingly, the writer concludes that this contextual worship service can be properly applied in church worship within Papuan community. In addition, this worship style can also be utilized as an alternate model of worship service that can be used to bind Christian people of Papua together
Peningkatan kapasitas produksi pada divisi kalung lumakina kotak dengan metode line balancing dan methods time measurement di PT. Untung Bersama Sejahtera
PT Untung Bersama Sejahtera merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang industri perhiasan seperti kalung, cincing, gelang, anting-anting, dan sebagainya. Proses produksi produk Kalung Lumakina Kotal di PT Untung Bersama Sejahtera yang digunakan adalah continuous flow sehingga antar proses produksi merupakan proses yang berkelanjutan. Tiap proses operasi dilakukan dengan tidak memiliki waktu standar pengerjaan. PT Untung Bersama Sejahtera masih memiliki permasalahan berkaitan dengan kapasitas produksi sehingga tidak memenuhi semua permintaan pasar. Tujuan skripsi ini adalah meningkatkan kapasitas produksi yang dapat dicapai oleh perusahaan dan menentukan jumlah tenaga kerja dan mesin yang optimal pada divisi Kalung Lumakina Kotak. Metode yang digunakan adalah keseimbangan lintasan dan Methods Time Measurement yang kemudian divisualisasikan dengan simulasi Promodel 4.0. Melalui perbaikan yang dilakukan kapasitas produksi berhasil ditingkatkan dari ?2000 gram per hari menjadi 4088 gram per hari untuk produk Kalung Lumakina Kotak Variasi Santa dan Rumbai. Melalui perbaikan dengan menggunakan keseimbangan lintasan dan Methods Time Measurement ini terjadi pengurangan stasiun kerja dari 80 stasiun kerja menjadi 19 stasiun kerja
Mapping of quantytative trait loci for high iron ang zinc content in polished rice (Oryza sativa L) grain and some agronomic traits using simple sequence repeats markers
Iron and zinc deficiency occurred especially in the poor region of the world causing significant loss due to death, sickness, and decreasing productivity as and life quality. Genetically increasing the iron and zinc content of rice grains is an efficient and effective way to overcome the iron and zinc deficiency problem. Mapping of QTLs (Quantitative Trait Loci) controlling high iron and zinc content in polished rice grains to get markers for Molecular Assisted Breeding (MAS) is prospective to be done since iron and zinc content are quantitative traits that highly affected by environment and its measurement is still costly. Study on polished rice as ste state of people use for their consumption would give more applicable result and study on agronomic and yield related traits would be helpful to incorporate those traits in breeding activity. Yield and Zn content of biofortified rice genotypes in an Indonesian rice agro-ecosystem

Approximately one-third of the world's population suffer from Zn deficiency causing significant socio-economic losses as a result of stunting and compromised immune system function. One strategy to overcome the problem is by developing rice cultivars with high grain Zn content (Zn Rice) to improve dietary intake.This study reports the yield and Zn content of 22 rice genotypes developed at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and the Indonesian Centre for Rice Research (ICRR).The experiment was conducted in the Cirebon district of West Java province during the 2013 wet season (2013WS). Yield and grain Zn content (using an XRF machine) were measured. Five lines demonstrated higher yield (ranging from 7.0 to 8.9 t/ha) than the check variety Ciherang (5.2 t/ha), but had similar grain Zn content to the check variety Ciherang (23.4 ppm), ranging from 19.0 to 24.8 ppm. On the other hand, seven lines had higher grain Zn content (ranging from 30.0 to 34.2 ppm) compared to Ciherang, and five of these lines had comparable yield to Ciherang. The selected lines had acceptable agronomic traits, and are suitable for further testing and utilization, in addition to providing a foundation for future improvement in the dual goals of increasing the yield and nutritional value of rice
KERAGAAN AGRONOMIS DAN PENDUGAAN PARAMETER GENETIK 100 GALUR PADI GENERASI LANJUT PADA KONDISI CEKAMAN KEKERINGAN
The condition of rice field without any irrigation is one of the problems in the rainfed land. This rice field only relies on the existence of water during the rainy day. This causes the limitation of water availability which affect plant growth. This study aimed to know the performance of the rice advance lines, estimated the value of genetic parameters and obtains the best line on drought condition. As many as 100 advance lines (> F8) for drought tolerant were tested using Augmented Design in five blocks. A total of six-check varieties were included in the experiment. The research was conducted at Dry Season of 2015 in ICRR-Sukamandi Experimental Field. The result showed that on the drought condition gained the average value for plant height as 103,44 cm, number of productive tillers as 12 tillers, percentage of filling pine grains reached 60,46%, leaf color index as 39,37, and weight of 1.000 grains averaged as 26,34 g, while weight grain per 5 clumps as 166,34 g. Yield trait was converted to hectares as 3,77 t ha-1 in drought conidition. Almost all characters had wide variability, high heritability values and high percentage of expected genetic advance except the number of filling grains per panicle trait. Lines BP17572c-SBY-1-CRB-2-SKI-1-3-PWK-2, ZX115-SKI-0-IND-2-SKI-1-PWK-2, BP30104e, BP17572c-SBY-1-CRB-2 -SKI-1-4-PWK-2, and BP17554-1c-SBY-1-CRB-8-SKI-1-6-PWK-2 provided the best performance with higher yield potential than the best check i.e. Inpari 13. Kekerabatan Beberapa Aksesi Padi Lokal Tahan Hama Penyakit Berdasarkan Analisis Polimorfisme Marka SSR
<p>Kegiatan karakterisasi secara genotipik merupakan salah satu sub kegiatan penting dalam pengelolaan plasma nutfah. Filogeni atau pohon kekerabatan berdasarkan data genotipik lebih mampu memperlihatkan berapa jarak genetik antar plasma nutfah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Filogeni dan jarak genetik antar plasma nutfah padi lokal unggul koleksi Balai Besar Penelitian Tanaman Padi. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan April – Desember 2015 di Laboratorium DNA Balai Besar Penelitian Tanaman Padi. Materi genetik yang digunakan adalah 15 padi lokal unggul dan varietas Ciherang yang merupakan varietas popular dilibatkan dalam penelitian sebagai kontrol. Analisa molekuler yang digunakan adalah analisa mikrosatelit SSR (<em>simple sequence repeat)</em> dengan jumlah marka SSR sebanyak 18. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terbentuk 3 kelompok/cluster besar pada pylogeni yang terbentuk. Cluster 1 terdiri dari genotype: Gadis Langsat, Kebo, Bandang sigadis, Ciherang, Jawa sleman, Marahmay, Takong, Ampek panjang, Benoraja, dan Siawak. Cluster 2 terdiri dari: Ase balucung, Ase bukne, Jadul, Pare lotong, dan Pare pulu. Cluster 3 terdiri dari varietas lokal Kapas. Jarak genetik paling jauh dimiliki antara Pare pulu dan Ampek panjang dengan koefisien jarak genetik 2.054. kekerabatan paling dekat dimiliki antara Siawak dan Padi kuning dengan jarak genetik 0.089.</p></jats:p
Respon Berbagai Varietas Padi pada Lahan Organik dengan System of Rice Intensification (SRI) di Sragen
Rice is the most essential staple food of Indonesian. The strategy to meet these food needs is through efforts to increase productivity by means of agricultural intensification. One of efforts to increase productivity is the application of integrated technology using the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method and organic cultivation. The research was conducted from March to June 2017 in Sambirejo, Sukorejo, Sragen. Forty rice varieties originating from the Center for Rice Research, Sukamandi, Subang, West Java were tested in this study. Planting was carried out by transplanting using 1 seedlings of 15 days after dispersing (HSS) / planting hole on a plot measuring 2 m x 2 m with a spacing of 20 cm x 20 cm. The research was organized using a completely randomized block design with four replications. Cultivation techniques are carried out organically with guidelines for integrated plant management. Observations were made on the character of the agronomic performance and yield. The results of the analysis of variance showed that there were differences between the varieties tested on all agronomic characters and yields. Varieties that responded well to organic land with the SRI system at the study site were Membramo, Sintanur, Inpari 13, Inpari 32 and Inpari 5 Merawu varieties, while the varieties that responded poorly to the study were Batutegi and Lusi varieties.Padi merupakan makanan pokok masyarakat Indonesia yang mutlak harus terpenuhi. Strategi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan tersebut yaitu dengan melakukan upaya peningkatan produktivitas dengan cara intensifikasi pertanian salah satunya adalah dengan penerapan teknologi terpadu menggunakan metode System of Rice Intensification (SRI) dan budidaya secara organik. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai Juni tahun 2017 di desa Sambirejo, Kecamatan Sukorejo, Kabupaten Sragen. Sebanyak empat puluh varietas padi yang berasal Balai Besar Penelitian Tanaman Padi, Sukamandi, Subang Jawa Barat diuji dalam penelitian ini. Penanaman dilakukan secara pindah tanam dengan menggunakan bibit berumur 15 Hari Setelah Sebar (HSS) sebanyak 1bibit/lubang tanam pada plot berukuran 2 m x 2 m dengan dengan jarak tanam 20 cm x 20 cm. Penelitian ditata dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap dengan empat ulangan. Teknik budidaya dilakukan secara organik dengan petunjuk pengelolaan tanaman terpadu. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap karakter keragaan agronomis dan hasil. Hasil analisis varian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan antar varietas yang diuji pada semua karakter agronomis dan hasil. Varietas yang memberikan respon yang baik pada lahan organik dengan sistem SRI di lokasi penelitian adalah Varietas Membramo, Sintanur, Inpari 13, Inpari 32 dan Inpari 5 Merawu sedangkan varietas yang memberikan respon kurang baik pada penelitian adalah varietas Batutegi dan Lusi
