THE INFLUENCE OF SUSTAINABLE ECOTOURISM INFRASTRUCTURE ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT POLICY IN THE NATIONAL STRATEGIC TOURISM AREA OF YOGYAKARTA

    Get PDF
Effective policymaking in tourism should reflect on-the-ground realities. This study examines the impact of sustainable ecotourism infrastructure on local government policies in Yogyakarta, assessing whether existing policies align with empirical field evidence. Additionally, it introduces a structured methodology for evaluating sustainability in tourism development. This study employs a mixed-method approach, combining Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) for quantitative analysis with qualitative descriptive analysis. A purposive sampling method was used to select 100 respondents, including academicians, destination managers, local government officials, and tourism industry specialists. The analysis covers the outer model, inner model, and hypothesis testing to explore the relationship between sustainable infrastructure indicators and policy development. Findings reveal a significant relationship between sustainable tourism infrastructure and government policies, particularly in environmental sensitivity and waste management. However, water resource management has a minimal impact on policy decisions. This suggests that while sustainability concerns shape policymaking, some infrastructure aspects remain underprioritized. This study contributes to sustainable tourism research by introducing a 12-indicator ecological infrastructure assessment aligned with Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) standards. It also validates the Penta Helix model’s effectiveness in integrating multiple stakeholders into policy development. The study highlights the need for improved water management strategies, better environmental monitoring, and stronger policy frameworks. Future research should expand geographic scope and stakeholder representation to enhance policy recommendations for sustainable tourism governance

Criticism of Selected Persian Translation of Gibran's Works in the Book "Hamam-e Rooh" based on Garcés Theoretical Models'

    No full text
The role of language in a literary text is aesthetic and literary translation has a special sensitivity from this perspective. In a literary text, the translator must translate not only the content and message but also the literary devices to the extent permitted and in the format required by the text. Among translation theories, the model of Carmen Valero Garcés critiques literary translation. This model consists of four levels (semantic-lexical, syntactical morphological, discourse-functional, and stylistic-practical). In this model, translations are also evaluated from the perspective of two criteria of adequacy and acceptability. This study considers the translation of selected works of the famous Lebanese author "Gibran Khalil Gibran" in the book "Hamam-e Rooh” by Seyed Hassan Hosseini based on the theory of criticism of Garcés translation and at all four levels of his proposed model. The achievement of this descriptive-analytical study indicates that the translator has performed better in the semantic-lexical and syntactical-morphological levels and has appeared in relatively weak stylistic and discourse levels, but in general, this translation has the necessary adequacy and acceptability. He also has used "expansion" more than any other solution

With water being the most important ingredient of the design the main question is how to deal with the enormous energy consumption the typology of this function brings with it. The three functions (swimming, surfing, hamam) that are renowned for their energy demands meant that an in-depth research into green energy was done into using the building as a rechargeable battery to obtain as much energy as possible to obtain, sustain and give it back to the building and in this manner reduce the energy demand.Architectural EngineeringBuilding TechnologyArchitectur
