Usos do sobrenatural no conto em galês médio Chwedyl Iarlles y Ffynnawn
No full textEste trabajo analiza los episodios sobrenaturales en la historia del Caballero del León, cuyas versiones en francés (Yvain, ou le Chevalier au Lion) y en galés (Owein: Chwedyl Iarlles y Ffynnawn) son muy cercanas y permiten, así, su comparación. Incluso sin asumir una postura respecto de qué autor compuso primero, es posible estudiar el modo en el que cada texto fue adaptado de forma diferente para sus respectivos públicos. Se han encontrado once episodios a lo largo de ambos textos (ocho en Yvain y nueve en Owein) cuyo elemento o aspecto sobrenatural ha sido categorizado como mirabilia, magicus o miraculosus en función de los trabajos de Le Goff, Kieckhefer y Sweeney. Nuestro estudio muestra que lo miraculosus domina en la versión francesa, probablemente debido al matiz cristiano que le impone Chrétien de Troyes y que enfatiza la agencia divina en el relato. En cambio, en la versión galesa predominan los episodios mirabilis, y los elementos sobrenaturales se mantienen separados de los aspectos religiosos del texto. Este análisis sugiere que el público galés estaría más cómodo que el francés con episodios sobrenaturales de carácter secular.This paper examines supernatural episodes in the story of the Knight of the Lion. The story has closely related versions in French (Yvain, ou le Chevalier au Lion) and in Welsh (Owein: Chwedyl Iarlles y Ffynnawn), which allow for analysis and comparison. Even without assuming which author wrote first, we can still study how each text was adapted differently for audiences in Wales and France. This essay finds eleven episodes across both texts (eight in Yvain and nine in Owein). We categorise the supernatural in these episodes as mirabilia, magicus or miraculosus, after Le Goff, Kieckhefer and Sweeney. Our final analysis shows that miraculosus dominates in the French version, presumably due to a Christianising urge of Chrétien de Troyes which emphasises the agency of God in the text. This is not the case in the Welsh version where mirabilis episodes dominate, and the supernatural elements are kept separate from the religious aspects of the text. This analysis suggests that Welsh audiences were more comfortable with secular episodes of the supernatural than French audiences.Fil: Valade, Isabelle. Postfeminism at play: Pretend play with Disney princess transmedia in the early childhood education classroom
No full textThis article examines how young children take up gender and sexuality discourses embedded in Disney Princess transmedia narratives and merchandise. A feminist ethnographic study conducted in two Canadian early childhood education and care (ECEC) classrooms found that young children often take up stereotypically gendered, heteronormative roles from princess transmedia during pretend play. The author contends that princess play includes problematic postfeminist themes, yet also offers agentic, pleasurable roles for children to embody. Disney’s hyperfeminine princess aesthetic is sometimes utilized by girls to subvert inequitable gender hierarchies and claim powerful positions within play scenarios. However, femmephobia can result in reinforcement of hegemonic gender discourses via gender policing. Implications for gender equity in ECEC environments are discussed.Cet article examine la manière dont les jeunes enfants s'approprient les discours sur le genre et la sexualité enracinés dans la narration transmédia et les produits de la marque Disney Princess. Une étude ethnographique féministe menée dans deux classes d’éducation à la petite enfance canadienne a déterminé que les jeunes enfants incarnent les rôles stéréotypés liés au genre et hétéronormatifs que l'on retrouve dans le transmédia des princesses pendant leurs jeux imaginaires. L’auteur soutient que les jeux de princesse comprennent des thèmes postféministes problématiques, mais qu'ils offrent également des rôles autonomisantes. L'esthétique hyperféminine du transmédia princesse de Disney est parfois utilisée par les filles pour renverser les hiérarchies inéquitables. No full textL’histoire des enquêtes en sciences sociales n’a pas retenu le nom de Jacques Valdour. Pourtant ses « observations vécues » de la vie ouvrière constituent une contribution importante à la connaissance des milieux populaires dans la première moitié du xxe siècle. Elles s’accompagnent d’analyses méthodologiques qui ont conduit leur auteur à poser les fondements d’une « science sociale expérimentale ». Sans doute les idées politiques de Valdour – il était monarchiste–, ont-elles sensiblement nui à la « réception » universitaire de son œuvre que l’on ne saurait réduire à n’être qu’un prolongement de celle de Le Play.The history of inquieries in social sciences has forgotten the name of Jacques Valdour. However, his « observations vécues » of the working life are an important contribution to the understanding of the popular classes in the first half of the 20th century. Through his methodological analysis, the author has set the basis of an experimental social science. For sure, polical views of Valdour (he was a Monarchist) did not facilitate the academic« reception » of his work, which certainly cannot be seen just as a developpement of Le Play’s work
