Al-Jarh wa Ta'dil Method Buku Siyar A'lam an-Nubala by Az-Dzahabi Case Study of Ibn Darastaweh
The aim of this research is to explore the methodology of writing the book Siyar A'alam an-Nubala by al-Hafidzh Az-Dzahabi as a practice of rijal science, both Tarikh ruwat and Jarh wa Ta'dil. Because with these two disciplines we can trace the credibility of a rijal (narrator) and find out about the history of the narrator. One of the writing methods in Tarikh Ruwat is the thabaqat style. And in this case, we will present the book Siyar A'alam an-Nubala to examine its writing method so that the author hopes that scholars, especially activists in the field of hadith, can find out the description of the book and the technicalities of its use. This writing uses the library research method, with a qualitative approach. And the author also presents sample cases discussed in the book as practice for analyzing the results of this research
Non-Timber Forest Products and Livelihood Linkages: A Case of Lamabagar, Nepal
Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) have attracted substantial interest in the recent years with the increasing recognition that these can provide essential community needs for improved and diversified rural livelihood and support the objectives of biodiversity conservation. Nevertheless, various challenges are witnessed in their sustainable harvest and management. Assuming that sustainable management with community stewardship can offer one of the solutions to existing challenges, the study assesses the linkages between NTFPs and rural livelihood in Lamabagar village of Dolakha, Nepal. The major objective was to document the status of NTFPs and their contributions in households of Lamabagar. For status documentation, vegetation sampling was done using systematic random sampling technique. 30 plots of 10 m × 10 m were laid down in six parallel transect lines at horizontal distance of 160 m in two different community forests. A structured questionnaire survey was conducted in 76 households (excluding non-response rate) using stratified random sampling technique for contribution analysis. Likewise, key informant interview and focus group discussions were also conducted for data triangulations. 36 different NTFPs were recorded from the vegetation sample in two community forests of which 50% were used for medicinal purposes. The other uses include fodder, religious value, and edible fruits and vegetables. Species like Juniperus indica, Daphne bholua Aconitum spicatum, and Lyonia ovalifolia were frequently used for trade as a source of income, which was sold in local market. The protected species like Taxus wallichiana and Neopicrorhiza scrophulariiflora were also recorded in the area for which the trade is prohibited. The protection of these species urgently needs community stewardship. More than half of the surveyed households (55%) were depending on NTFPs for their daily uses, other than economic purpose whereas 45% of them sold those products in the market directly or in the form of local handmade products as a source of livelihood. NTFPs were the major source of primary health curing agents especially for the poor and unemployed people in the study area. Hence, the NTFPs contributed to livelihood under three different categories: subsistence, supplement income and emergency support, depending upon the economic status of the households. Although the status of forest improved after handover to the user group, the availability of valuable medicinal herbs like Rhododendron anthopogon, Swertia nervosa, Neopicrorhiza scrophulariiflora, and Aconitum spicatum were declining. Inadequacy of technology, lack of easy transport access, and absence of good market facility were the major limitations for external trade of NTFPs in the study site. It was observed that people were interested towards conservation only if they could get some returns: economic in terms of rural settlements. Thus, the study concludes that NTFPs could contribute rural livelihood and support conservation objectives only if local communities are provided with the easy access of technology, market and capital

FUNDAMENTALISM AND RADICALISM IN ISLAM: AN EPISTEMOLOGICAL APPROACH
This paper attempts to examine how fundamental-radical epistemology forms after the return of the power of Taliban in Afghanistan. To arrive at this topic, the author would firstly review the terminology and historical roots of fundamentalism-radicalism, and the factors that caused its emergence and its characteristics. The author uses a historical-phenomenological approach in doing the literature research to write this article. In analyzing obtained data, the author is using descriptive-analytical, historical, and holistic techniques. The results found are: first, the emergence of the understanding of fundamental-radical, which was initially only a political phenomenon, turned out to lead to systemic violence, actual violence, action, and symbolic violence. These are still threatening humanity because of the characteristics of their movements that are unwilling to communicate and attempt dialogue with relevant groups. Second, the factors behind the rise of radicalism are two, namely: socio-political factors and religious-related emotional factors. Third, the epistemology of fundamental-radicals lays only on literal and textual understanding. According to them, the truth lies in the understood sacred text, as it is
APLIKASI PEMBIMBINGAN AKADEMIK BERBASIS WEB (STUDI KASUS: PROGRAM STUDI TEKNIK INFORMATIKA UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH SUKABUMI)
Muhammadiyah University Sukabumi (UMMI) is the first university in Sukabumi City. There are six faculties in UMMI, one of which is the Faculty of Science and Technology (FSAINTEK). The IT Study Program assigns Academic Supervisors (DPA) through the Dean Dean Decrees (SK) and these provisions are listed in the Academic Guidance Book of the UMMI IT Study Program. To assist the lecture and guidance process, Muhammadiyah University Sukabumi has provided online services, namely the existence of the Academic Information System (SIAK). Coaching activities conducted between students and DPA (Academic Advisors) are not effective, not as stated in the Academic Guidance Book of the UMMI IT Study Program. Therefore the authors propose research with the title "Web-based Academic Guidance Application (Case study: Informatics Engineering Study Program of Muhammadiyah University Sukabumi). With the making of the application, the author can help the process of academic guidance activities between DPA and students, as well as assisting DPA in conveying information to parents / guardians of students around academic and non-academic through the SMS Gateway service. In developing this system the author uses the PHP programming language and the database used is MySQL. The system development methodology that I use is the waterfall method, system design uses UML (Unifield Modeling Language) and software to send SMS using GAMMU. As well as testing this application using the concept of testing Black Box Testin
An Integrated Approach to Municipal Solid Waste Recycling Performance Evaluation by Incorporating Local Demographic Features
Recycling municipal solid waste has become a challenging task for municipalities. Appropriate recycling efficiency evaluations are, thus, essential to find practical benchmark learning targets for inefficient municipal solid waste authorities (MSWAs). This study developed a recycling performance evaluation procedure by subgrouping MSWAs with prominent local demographic features, such as population density, ratio of senior citizens, tourism index etc. Principal recycling relevant factors for MSWAs in each group were then collected, and data envelopment analysis (DEA) was applied for efficiency evaluation and benchmark learning targets. A case study of 181 MSWAs in Taiwan demonstrated the suitability of the proposed procedures. An assessment of the required efforts for efficiency improvements revealed that, in an unsegregated scenario, inefficient MSWAs representing a rural subgroup required maximum efforts to fulfill the efficiency targets, which was on average 61% higher than that determined in their respective subgroup. Furthermore, the unsegregated scenario revealed proximal efficiency results for the urban subgroup. The results indicated that consideration of local demographic features was essential for a fair assessment of recycling efficiency. Additionally, evaluating MSWAs with similar local demographic features was superior in obtaining appropriate benchmark learning targets for the inefficient MSWAs and, consequently, exhibited practicality for improving walkthroughs to achieve the efficiency goal
