Cybersecurity resilience and innovation ecosystems for sustainable business excellence: Examining the dramatic changes in the macroeconomic business environment
Data and information systems are valuable, rare, and often inimitable resources for any organization willing to innovate its products, processes, and business models, with the ultimate goal of gaining a competitive edge in a digital world. Data and information systems are also valuable and rare resources when organizations interact with each other within their ecosystems as data flows are deployed conjointly by organizations to achieve innovation and performance outcomes for their ecosystem. As such data and information systems within organizations, interorganizational relationships and ecosystems need to be protected. For this reason, organizations are required to strengthen their cybersecurity systems. This seems a necessary precondition to assist organizations and ecosystems to innovate their products, processes, and business models especially during times of dramatic changes (such as wars or pandemics) that can pose threats to organizational and ecosystem data protection. Accordingly, cybersecurity resilience allows to address those threats triggered by dramatic changes. In this light, this study aims to investigate how components of cybersecurity resilience can influence organizations’ innovation capabilities and ultimately sustainable business excellence as well as the moderating influences of macroeconomic policies and regulations. By building on a cross-sectional research design we found that cybersecurity resilience positively influences innovation capabilities that in their turn positively influence sustainable business excellence. We also find that macroeconomic policies and regulations moderate the relationship between government efficacy and sustainable business excellence
Guest editorial for the special issue on RFID - enabled healthcare: applications, issues and benefits
International audienceInformation technology (IT)-enabled healthcare is an area of interest for scholars from various fields of research (Fichman et al. 2011). Lately, radio frequency identification (RFID) technology emerged as a new multidimensional IT innovation (Fosso Wamba 2011) with a tremendous research potential in the healthcare sector. However, the current level of articles published on RFID-enabled healthcare is still fairly low. For example, a review of articles on RFID technology by (Ngai et al. 2008) showed that only 3.6% of articles were concerned with applications, issues and benefits related to the healthcare sector. The main objective of this special issue was to attempt to bridge this knowledge gap, by seeking recent articles dealing with applications, issues and benefits related to RFID-enabled healthcare. All articles submitted to the special issue went through three rounds of double-blind review process, with a minimum of four reviewers per article. The review of the introductory article was handled by the journal's editor-in-chief to avoid any conflict of interest
Knowledge development in non-fungible tokens (NFT): a scoping review
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to investigate the potential of NFTs in revolutionizing innovation management and information systems. Innovations done by firms are blatantly used by other firms to develop cheap knock-off. This leads to huge economic loses to the firm investing in research and development activities. Firms are in need of trusted, immutable and verifiable means of storing information which cannot be used by others, even if publically available without their consent. Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) appear to be one such solution to this problem that has recently attracted a lot of investor interest. Using NFTs the information is tokenized and is stored in a secure manner.Design/methodology/approachThrough this scoping review, the authors investigate the influence of NFTs towards the innovation management from the dual aspects of management and information systems. This scoping review is underpinned by the five-stage framework by Arksey and O’Malley. The five stages of Arksey and O’Malley’s framework were used in this analysis to classify the literature through five stages of identifying the initial research questions; locating relevant studies; study selection; charting the data; and compiling, summarizing and reporting the results.FindingsThis study suggests that NFTs on the blockchain have significant potential to revolutionize innovation management and information systems. Theoretical frameworks used in investigating the role of digital tokens in blockchain management are mainly based on contracts, diversity theory, portfolio theory and faking likelihood theory. The study reveals gaps in the literature, particularly in the under-researched areas of behavioural psychology and social psychology theories. The appropriate regulation and regulation authority for different types of digital tokens are required. The study also presents archetypes that represent patterns in the current landscape of blockchain tokens, which have significant potential for future research and practical applications.Originality/valueThis study is unique in its approach to assessing the future of NFTs in the field of innovation and information management. While many existing reviews have focused on describing the progress and development of NFTs in the past, this study takes a forward-looking perspective and projects the future potential of NFTs. This innovative approach allows for a deeper understanding of the potential impact of NFTs in various fields such as entrepreneurship, innovation management and tokenomics. Therefore, this study contributes to the literature on NFTs by providing insights and recommendations for future research and practical applications

In this paper, I examine the tradition underpinning the shaping of a narrative on the Visigothic King Wamba, a narrative with hardly any historical support in which he is presented as a ploughman king and his election is seen as the product of a divine design. The work in which this narrative is found for the first time is the Libro de las generaciones, written in the Kingdom of Navarre in the years 1256-1270. This study intends to show that this section cannot be separated from the rest of the work and that it must be regarded as a creation by the author of the Libro that has far-reaching political and institutional consequences as a foundational stol)'. At the same time, the study tries to show the way in which this story stands in opposition to other political narratives in Navarre, as that at the beginning of the Fuero antiguo, therefore carrying a wider meaning in its context
Big Data’ as a Strategic Enabler of Superior Emergency Service Management: Lessons from the New South Wales State Emergency Service. Paper presented at the ICIS 2012 MIS Quarterly Executive Workshop
A unique form of organization that has not received much attention is the emergency services organization, which is tasked with responding to crises and disasters such as floods, fires, hurricanes, tsunamis, and other natural and man-made disasters. Effective responses in such situations are reliant on the availability of archived information as well as on the effective real-time integration and utilization of data coming from various channels including sensors, satellites, social media feeds, photos, video and cell phone GPS signals or 'Big Data ' (IBM 2012; Rich 2012). The effective management of these events also requires the collaboration and coordination of a range of government decision makers, emergency response stakeholders, and community-based non-government organizations (Chatfield, Fosso Wamba et al. 2010). The availability of real-time location-aware information, as well as the ability to effectively integrate and utilize information available with different autonomous agencies are key to effective decision making and resource deployment t
El ejército visigodo en campaña, Wamba y la secesión de la Narbonense
The most important source to know how the Visigothic army was in the second half of the seventh century is the Historia Wambae of Julián de Toledo, literary and rhetoric work created for greater aggrandizement of King Wamba, but which provides us with unique information about the military campaigns of this monarch, the one who confronted him with the Basques and, especially, the one he brought against the rebel Paulo. The author is not satisfied with exalting the king, his detailed account is an exceptional testimony about the strategic development of a late army in the countryside and a unique document to know the structure and behavior of the Visigothic armies; as well as the ceremonial associated with war and victory. Smart cities and open data. Barriers, challenges of adoption and use of open data ecosystem
Purpose: this thesis is part of a study on “smart cities and open data” in collaboration with the Grenoble metropolis. In the specific case of this study, we focused on the challenges and barriers to the adoption of the open data ecosystem. Based on a literature review, we have outlined the beginning of a theoretical research model that will be empirically tested in future studies via a mixed methodology (quantitative and qualitative approaches). Methodology: we combined studies on open data from practitioners and researchers to better understand the stakes, challenges, and ecosystem surrounding open data. These documents from these actors were analyzed in conjunction with a literature review, which revealed gaps in previous research on open data. Findings: open data has been creating a tremendous buzz for years, both among practitioners and the scientific community. Based on the research gaps observed in the literature review, we have developed a research model that will allow us to study the adoption of an open data ecosystem and thus the exploitative and explorative use of open data. Subsequently, some hypotheses have been put forward, and methodological approaches will allow us to confirm or refute these hypotheses. Moreover, the research model we have developed could take into account all the actors generally involved in an open data ecosystem. Conclusion: we recognized that open data studies continue to necessitate extensive hypothesis testing. The time constraints of this study prevented us from collecting data to test our conceptual research model. Nonetheless, we have outlined all of the rules and procedures that should be followed to ensure the study's continuity. First, we will consolidate the research model proposed in this Master's thesis through qualitative and exploratory studies in future studies. Then, we will use PLS-EM and fsQCA to obtain more advanced results that will satisfy the scientific community and open data professionals
