Innovation and Transformation of Service Business Models through Cloud Technology to Achieve Co-Creation Value within the Service Ecosystem

    No full text
The primary purpose of this study is to use the principles of service science as a foundation approach to provide a path for innovation and transformation service business models (SBMs) through the power of cloud technology within the service ecosystem. In addition, this research, contributes to improve the understanding for the business dynamics behind this transformation in such a way that to explain the processes for GDL to transition to SDL business innovation models. Moreover, this paper seeks to answer the question that how cloud to create value in the context of SBMs within the service ecosystem? This paper is one of the first attempts to integrate these disciplines, so that it offers an original contribution by propose the novel trend in the form of a path with 5 steps for SBMs innovation and transformation and also co-create value. This research has a qualitative approach to seek to answer the research questions that has been adopted based on Kitchenham et al. (2009) seven steps guidelines for conducting a systematic literature review. This paper is the first systematic reviews on the business models that is supported through cloud technology so that conducted using the 45 research articles shortlisted were discussed and analyzed and finally on that basis, a path with 5 steps is provided to answer the research questions. Moreover, this study provides insights to SMEs, ICT vendors, service providers and government agencies to align the business models with cloud services for the most benefits. It also to act as a guide for practitioners to seek and apply such models in their business in order to produce smart solutions that can provision even smarter services

With a sparkling, young and optimistic approach, Juan Sabbagh points out a critical view of architects, and their training aimed at specialization. He stresses that architects do not take real advantage of the opportunity that the formation process offers. Being this, the second interview given to Revista De Arquitectura, Juan Sabbagh (recipient of the National Award of Architecture, 2002) focuses now on academic issues and on his experience as President of the Chilean Architectural Association. Previously, Revista De Arquitectura interviewed him in relation to his professional work.

    No full text
Purpose: This paper systematically explores the consequences of the adoption of blockchain technology (BCT) in the wine supply chain, aiming to offer a comprehensive overview of its advantages within the dynamic and complex wine sector. Design/methodology/approach: This study deploys the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) method to provide a comprehensive examination of the effects of BCT adoption in the wine supply chain (WSC) by guiding the conduct and reporting of the systematic review. Findings: The findings identify eight primary areas of advantage in blockchain adoption, illuminating its transformative impact on the wine industry. In addition, an examination of the technical attributes and applications of 17 existing blockchain-based platforms in the wine supply chain contributes valuable insights for strategic decision-making by wineries. Originality/value: This study, through a systematic literature review, contributes to understand the potential BCT interactions at different stages of the WSC and to highlight some of the lesser known benefits for wineries

    A Computer Model of Eddy-Current Probe-Crack Interaction

    No full text
A general three-dimensional eddy-current probe model, developed by Sabbagh Associates and reported in [1], [2] and [3], has been adapted for the calculation of probe-flaw interactions. The theoretical model, [4] and [5], uses integral equations with dyadic Green’s function kernels, and is applicable to both probe and flaw calculations at arbitrary skin depths and frequencies. Discrete approximations of the integral equations are solved using a highly efficient algorithm based on recent developments in numerical techniques and their application to the solution of large problems in electromagnetic field-theory.</p

We present solutions of some benchmark problems, (‘Benchmark Problems in Eddy-Current NDE,’ by Harold A. Sabbagh and Stephen K. Burke, presented at QNDE in 1991), for the computation of ΔZ in eddy-current NDE: - Rectangular slot in a thick plate (900 Hz) - Rectangular slot in a thick plate (7 kHz) - Cracks in a thin plate - Cracks in a double plate system</p

Diagnosi e terapia della colecistite acuta

Acute cholecystitis is a serious inflammatory disease which requires immediate diagnosis and early surgical treatment. With the aim of identifying whether the urgent ultrasound (US) and the surgical approach within 72 hours can positively affect the course of the illness, we report our experience carried out on 100 patients (54 males and 46 females with an average age of 65 years ranging between 30 and 90) reaching our department in the period between January 1988 and October 1991. The US carried out on admission demonstrated a diagnostic sensitivity of 74%; while if considering the cases in which the histopathological report outlined a serious event (empyema or gangrene 21/100) the US sensitivity increased to 84.2%. It was also useful in patients without leucocytosis (15/100; sensitivity of 78.6%) and in those with marked leucocytosis (9/100) where the diagnostic sensitivity reaches a 100%. A cholecystectomy operation was carried out in all the patients within the first 72 hours; in 13 cases with bile duct exploration. During the last 18 months a new approach was applied on the 16 patients who showed evidence of acute cholecystitis with a stone in the common bile duct: that of performing an urgent ERC followed by sphincterotomy and extraction of the stone/s followed by cholecystectomy the day after (always within the 72 hours). The overall mortality rate was 2%. The early cholecystectomy carries a morbidity rate of 18% which increases to 31% if associated with exploration of the common bile duct; the use of the alternative early endoscopic-surgical approach by us followed for cholecystitis with bile duct stone/s does not increase the morbidity rate of the cholecystectomy, while it permits a shorter hospital stay. We retain that the principle urgent diagnostic means for acute cholecystitis is the ultrasonography. It yields a correct diagnosis in almost 8 out of 10 cases and can determine the right moment for carrying out the cholecystectomy which must always be, when possible, within the 72 hours from the occurance of the symptomatology. Finally we consider the endoscopic-surgical approach as a valid alternative to the traditional bile duct exploration for cholecystitis with bile duct stone/s
