Sociological Aspects in Siti Nurbaya\u27s Novel by Marah Rusli
No full textThere is a close relationship between literature and life because the social function of literature is how it involves itself in people\u27s lives. The purpose of this research is to find out the sociology of literature, which examines it through three contexts, first, the social context of the author; second, literature as a mirror of society; third, the social function of literature in the novel Siti Nurbaya by Marah Rusli. The method in this research uses descriptive qualitative. In this case, the writer first describes the social context of Marah Rusli\u27s novel Siti Nurbaya, then analyzes the content of the novel and then looks at the relationship between the problems in the novel, and then adjusts it to socio-cultural conditions. The results of the analysis show that Siti Nurbaya\u27s novel, in terms of the author\u27s social context, that in Siti Nurbaya\u27s novel, is based on the bad experience of the author, Marah Rusli. Siti Nurbaya\u27s novel reflects the many problems of society in Siti Nurbaya\u27s era, such as polygamy, pride in nobility, customs in Padang, child sacrifices for their parents, and so on. Meanwhile, there is a social function of literature in the novel, which includes rebellion, literary works as entertainment, and entertainingly teaching something

Full text linkIn summarization, the report explained on the climbing tower crane system that used to transport all the construction material whether parallel or vertical. The use of tower crane has been an impact to the engineering industry commonly in construction. This technology makes the building design increase in height. The objective, of usage of tower crane will be increase in time, because building nowadays were built in great height because the government or the owner want to save up space of land for another usage. From the research on site that the author made, climbing tower crane construction is not an easy job to do. It needs a serious care from the builder. It is not as easy as some people think. In this practical report, it will briefly explain about theoretically research about climbing tower crane in construction industry. Furthermore, the practical report will also explain about the component that makes the tower crane complete. Then, this practical report will explained about the construction of climbing tower crane from early of construction until the completion of the tower crane. For every construction site, there will be a problem that came out as the builder commencing the construction. So the ability to cope with the problem is important and it needs to have in every person that involved in construction industry. This practical report has enlisted all the problem and way to encounter the problem about the construction of climbing tower crane. This study will analyze short stories with a descriptive ethical approach. Descriptive ethics describes the good and bad moral behavior of an action. Nowadays there are many cases of people\u27s moral behavior that deviate from the prevailing norms. Corruption, murder, fraud and others are a form of deviant social behavior. We can learn people\u27s behavior through literary media, one of which is short stories. Short stories are short stories that contain real people\u27s behavior, experiences and imagination of the author. This research will describe the character\u27s moral behavior in Eli Rusli\u27s short story "Telunjuk" using a descriptive ethical approach. This study uses a qualitative method. The use of this method is very suitable in analyzing a word or language with the subjective assessment needs of the researcher. This study uses documentation techniques because the research data is in the form of the publication of the short story Telunjuk on the media of the Mind of the People newspaper. Research data will be analyzed with a descriptive ethical theory approach. The results of the research show that there is bad behavior from the characters in the short story. Behavior in utilizing a position for personal gain. In addition, there are good figures at work, even though they are high positions and do not take advantage of these positions for personal gain.

Penelitian ini akan menganalis cerpen dengan pendekatan etika deskripstif. Etika deskripstip menggambarkan tingkah moral baik dan buruknya suatu Tindakan. zaman sekarang banyak terjainya tingkah moral masyarakat yang menyimpang dari norma yang berlaku. Korupsi, pembunuhan, penipuan dan lainnya merupakan suatu bentuk penyimpangan perilaku masyarakat. perilaku masyarakat dapat kita pelajari melaluhi media sastra, salah satunya cerpen. Cerpen merupakan cerita pendek yang berisikan tingkah laku masyarakat secara nyata, pengalaman maupun imajinasi dari penulis. Penelitian ini akan mengambarkan tingkah moral tokoh pada cepen “Telunjuk” karya Eli Rusli dengan pendekatan etika deskriptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Penggunaan metode ini sangat cocok dalam mengalisis sebuah kata atau Bahasa dengan kebutuhan penilaian subjektif dari peneliti. Penelitian ini menggunakan Teknik dokumentasi dikarenakan data penelitian berupa hasil publikasi cerpen Telunjuk pada media surat kabar Pikiran Rakyat. Data penelitian akan dianalisis dengan pendekatan teori etika deskriptip. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya perilaku kurang baik dari tokoh-tokoh pada cerpen. Perilaku dalam memanfaatkan sebuah jabatan untuk kepentingan pribadi. Selain itu terdapat tokoh baik dalam berkerja, walaupun jabatan tinggi dan tidak memanfaatkan jabatan tersebut untuk kepentingan pribadi.

Full text linkOryctes rhinoceros Linnaeus is one of the main pests of oil palm plants. The Oryctes rhinoceros control of being commonly used is synthetic insecticides. However, it is unwise useable to cause negative impacts on humans and the agricultural environment. Therefore, an alternative insecticide that is safer and environmentally friendly is needed, such as tuba root (Derris elliptica Benth.). The research was conducted in a Plant Pest laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru, from July to August 2018. This study aims to obtain an effective concentration of tuba root extract to control Oryctes rhinoceros larvae. The research was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consists of five treatments and four replications. The treatment used is the concentration of tuba root extracts 0 g.l-1 of water, 25 g.l-1 of water, 50 g.l-1 of water, 75 g.l-1 of water and 100 g.l-1 of water. The result in them showing that the application of tuba root extract at a concentration of 75 g.l-1 was able to decrease O. rhinoceros larvae population with a total mortality of 82.5%. The lethal concentration to kill 50% of O. rhinoceros larvae population was 1.0% or equal to 10 g.l-1 of tuba root extract, while the lethal concentration to kill 95% of O. rhinoceros larvae population was 30.6% or equal to 306 g.l-1 tuba root extract

Full text linkCabbage crop caterpillar (Crocidolomia pavonana Fabricius) is the primary pest on cabbage. This study aimed to know the toxicity of noni seed extract (Morinda citrifolia Linnaeus) against C. pavonana. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and four replications. The treatments given were the application of noni seed extract in different concentrations; 0, 25 g.l-1, 50 g.l-1, 75 g.l-1and 100 g.l-1. The parameters observed were initial death time, total mortality, daily mortality, lethal time 50, and lethal concentration. The results showed that noni seed extract was able to kill C. pavonana larvae. The higher the extract concentration, the more insects died, and the faster the time of death occurred. The concentration of LC50 was 6.7%, while LC95 was 23.5%.

Full text linkCocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) is a plantation crop that has an important role in the national economy. Conopomorpha cramerella Snellen is a pest that causes a decrease in cocoa production in the field. The recommended control is using botanical insecticides using soursop leaves (Annona muricata L). This study aimed to obtain best concentration of soursop leaf flour extract (A. muricata L) to control the attack of cocoa pod borer (C. cramerella Snellen) in the field. The research was conducted in the garden of residents of Nan Sabaris District, Padang Pariaman Regency, from July to October 2019. The research was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. Treatment of the concentration of soursop leaf powder extract given in each experimental unit was 0 gl-1 water, 20 gl-1 water, 40 gl-1 water, 60 gl-1 water, 80 gl-1 water and 100 gl-1 water. The results showed that soursop was able in controlling CPB (C. cramerella) pests at a concentration of 100 gl-1 water which reduced the percentage of affected fruit to 10% with the lowest fruit damage intensity, namely 12.48%, the largest fruit diameter was 18.15 cm, with the smallest larval population of 0.75 tails, and the maximum dry weight of seeds reaching 150.75 g

Full text linkFall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda J. E. Smith) is a major pest of corn. The usual control is the use of synthetic insecticides, but the continuous or unwise use of synthetic insecticides will harm humans and the environment. Therefore an alternative insecticide, called botanical pesticide that is safe and environmentally friendly such as extract citronella extract (Cymbopogon nardus L.) is needed. The purpose of this study was to obtain an effective extract concentration of Cymbopogon nardus L.to control S. frugiperda. The research was conducted at the Plant Pest Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Pekanbaru. The study was done from August to September 2020. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of 6 treatments and 4 replications with the concentration was 2 ml.l-1 water, 4 ml.l-1 water, 6 ml.l-1 water, 8 ml.l-1 water, 10 ml.l-1 water and without extract as a control. The result of the research showed that the concentration of 6 ml.l-1 water was able to control the S. frugiperda and could cause total mortality of 80% with an initial time of death of 6.75 hours after application, 50 lethal times of 40.50 hours

Full text linkStarfruit (Averrhoa carambolae L.) is a horticultural plant having the main pest, the fruit fly Bactrocera sp. The solution is eviromentally friendly control is the use of trap combined with the attractant of lemongrass (Cymbopogon nardus L.). The purpose of this study is to get the dosage of lemongrass oil which is ablest to trap most fruit fly on starfruit plants. This research was conducted at BBI (Balai Benih Induk Hortikultura), Jl. Kaharudin Nasution, Pekanbaru and at Riau University Faculty of Agriculture Laboratory of Plant Pests, from Agustus to November in 2022. The treatment of the given dosage of lemongrass oil was 0 ml/trap, 0,25 ml/trap, 0,50 ml/trap, 0,75 ml/trap, and 1 ml/trap. The experiment used a complete randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 repetitions. The result showed that the species that attacks the starfruit plant is B. carambolae and B. umbrosa. The ablest dosage of lemongrass oil in trapping most fruit fly was 0,50 ml trap with an average population of 11,75 fruit flies for seven days

S. zeamais pest control commonly used fumigant insecticides that used still has many disadvantages such as food safety impacts, environmental pollution and pest resistance, so that a safe alternative to control was needed, one of which was using noni seeds. This research was aimed to obtain a dose of noni seed flour that was effective to S. zea mays corn powder pest mortality.The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Pest, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from March to May 2018.The treatment used was the dose of noni seed flour 0 g.100 g-1 corn, 2 g.100 g-1 corn, 4 g.100 g-1 corn, 6 g.100 g-1 corn, and 8 g.100 g-1 corn. This research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications.
