Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

PT Petrokimia Gresik is the most comprehensive fertilizer company in Indonesia, producing various types of fertilizers such as Urea, ZA, SP-36, NPK Phonska, DAP, NPK Kebomas, ZK, and organic fertilizer known as Petroganik. PT Petrokimia Gresik also manufactures non-fertilizer products including Sulfuric Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Ammonia, Dry Ice, Aluminum Fluoride, Cement Retarder, and others. Initially established as the 'Proyek Petrokimia Surabaya' in 1960, the construction agreement was jointly signed on August 10, 1964, and became effective on December 8, 1964. The project was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on July 10, 1972. Therefore, this date is commemorated as the anniversary of PT Petrokimia Gresik. In the utility unit of the sulfuric acid plant IIIB at PT. Petrokimia Gresik, the data shows that the lowest efficiency occurred on the first day (October 1, 2022), with an efficiency of 75.15%, while the highest efficiency occurred on the sixteenth day (October 16, 2022), reaching 90.61%.From the calculation results based on the data over 30 days, the efficiency of the Steam Turbine Generator (STG) 30-TP-6101 experienced fluctuating increases and decreases. These fluctuations are attributed to a decrease in the generated load, mechanical losses, friction losses, steam leaks in transmission pipes, and errors in operation and maintenance, among other factors. The efficiency of the Steam Turbine Generator (STG) 30-TP-6101 did not undergo a significant change but experienced a decrease of approximately 6.22%. From the initial design efficiency of 91%, it decreased to 83.78%. Therefore, the calculation and analysis results indicate that the efficiency of the steam turbine generator (STG) 30-TP-6101 still falls within the normal range, based on the data collected from the utility unit of sulfuric acid plant IIIB at PT. Petrokimia Gresik over a period of 30 days

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

The purpose of this paper is to answer the question of whether local macroeconomic variables have any impact on the number of IPO in the emerging market in Malaysia. Dependent variables is macroeconomics determinant. Meanwhile the independent variables are interest rate, inflation rate, gross domestic product, and industrial production index. Multiple Linear Regression with time series data sourced from the World Bank Data and Department of Statistic Malaysia (DOSM) is the approached for this analysis. It is suitable carrying out the econometrics test to observed the relationship between macroeconomic determinants and IPO. E-views interactive software package is used to test and analyze the data collected. The evidence of significant negative relationship between interest rate and the number of IPO and a positive relationship between industrial production index and number of IPO are founded. The outcome from this study would given an indicative point of view and could form significance basis for future investor that knowledge about the relationship between macroeconomics determinants and initial public offering listed in Bursa Malaysia
