THE DEVELOPMENT MYTH
In this essay, Rasna Warah argues that advocates of more aid to Africa fail to address social and historical injustices that are among the root causes of poverty and under-development in the continent. The author provides a much-needed African perspective on the development industry, and discusses why it has failed so miserably in lifting millions of people out of poverty

This study has adopted theories grounded in instructional applications of educational psychology
and instructional technology to gauge effectiveness of concept mapping as a e-learning strategy
across an effective sample of K-12 students. This study was intended to investigate effectiveness
of concept mapping as a learning strategy employed to teach science concept to secondary school
students. This exploratory study has been conducted with an aim to examine concept mapping
strategy as an effective tool for K-12 students toward learning at e-platform. Approach employed
for investigation in the current research is “contextually –specific” studying how particular
strategy contributes in certain environment. The study has utilized a mixed methods approach to
increase the validity and reliability of body of evidences. Quantitative and qualitative data were
gathered utilizing questionnaire and focus group discussions respectively. Questionnaire was
analysed for perceptions on the use of concept mapping as e-learning strategy. Results are
discussed in the light of instructional effectiveness towards usage of specific strategy in classroom
environment. The findings confirmed that there was statistically significant difference between the
mean scores of two groups inferring control group with lower mean rank and experimental group
with higher mean rank
Pharmacognostical and Physico-Chemical Evaluation of Rasna Guggulu
Majority of patients visiting Ayurvedic hospitals are having ailments related to joints especially low back pain and knee joint pain. Low back ache may be due to many reasons ranges from muscular pain to complicated neurological complaints or malignancy. Disc herniation is also a major reason for low back ache in which radiculopathy might be a typical feature. In all systems of medicine many treatments exist to manage low back ache and sciatica. In Ayurveda also different treatment modalities are present ranging from simple internal medications to complex therapies like Basti (therapeutic enema), to effectively tackle such conditions. The Ayurvedic formulation, Rasna guggulu is mentioned in the treatment of Gridrasi (sciatica). To standardize any formulation its properties should be studied repeatedly in detail. Even though this formulation is comparatively a simpler one consisting of only 3 ingredients, its properties and identifying features are not widely studied. In this study pharmacognostical, organoleptic and physico-chemical characteristics of Rasna guggulu were reported. Pharmacognostical study of this drug reveals the presence of epidermal cells, starch grain, lignified stone cells, prismatic crystals, simple fiber, simple trichome, warty trichome, annular vessels and spiral vessels of Rasna along with oil globules of clarified butter. HPTLC shows 8 and 7 spots at 254nm and 366nm respectively which suggests the presence of 7 – 8 active principles in this drug. This study also can be considered to standardize the formulation, Rasna guggulu
Afro-Pessimism in the Discourse on Urban East Africa
Rasna Warah argues that the literature on urbanization in Eastern Africa has been dominated by a pessimistic perspective that focuses on slums and informality, while ignoring the positive impact of urban living on the region's poor. Urbanization has been a critical factor in the development of societies, and that low levels of urbanization in Eastern Africa have hindered economic and social progress in the region. Warah urges governments in the region to adopt pro-urban strategies that can harness the enormous potential of cities as engines of economic growth and development.
Rasna problematika i Get Out
This paper deals with the portrayal of racial issues in Jordan Peele’s horror film Get Out. Racial issues have been an ongoing problem in the American society throughout history that continues to be in the centre of media discourse even today. The paper aims to summarize some basic concepts when it comes to race, racism and racial relations and to explain the main ideas behind Critical Race Theory, the most prominent approach in the study of racism, which claims that the nature of racism has changed over time. Because racism is still present, it needs to be continually discussed in order to neutralise the negative effects it has on the society and the individual. The paper analyses race and racial issues in Get Out and compares how these are represented in Invisible Man, a famous novel by Ralph Ellison, in an effort to determine whether or not these two works can be seen as belonging inside the Critical Race Theory framework, and why.Ovaj rad se bavi rasnom problematikom prikazanom u horor filmu Jordana Peelea Get Out. Rad analizira rasu i rasna pitanja u filmu Get Out i uspoređuje ih s onima u Invisible Man, poznatom romanu Ralpha Ellisona, nastojeći utvrditi nalaze li se ova dva djela unutar okvira Critical Race teorije i zašto

Ada kontribusi yang signifikan daya ledak tungkai dan kecepatan reaksi kaki terhadap kemampuan lari 100 meter pada mahasiswa pendidikan kepelatihan olahraga FIK UNM, sebesar 64.5%
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
