Roy Wagner died in September 2018. This article, written out of affection and admiration, shows the originality of Wagner’s thought and highlights its importance for understanding, not only current anthropology, increasingly influenced by his work, but also the anthropological machine and its great invention, culture. The article examines moments of his life and his tastes, and recounts anecdotes told by him to provide a better understanding of the disciplinary and theoretical links that Wagner estab-lished with authors like Claude Lévi-Strauss, Victor Turner, Gregory Bateson and Carlos Castaneda. The article concludes with an extensive bibliography for those who want to explore further the work of an author who is set to become a defining figure in the anthropology of the near future.
Hermann Wagner and the Illustrated German Flora. There are two authors of botanical publications with the name Hermann Wagner both born in 1824, one in Hadamar (Hesse), the other in Weißenfels (Saxony-Anhalt). For a long time it has been questionable who wrote the Illustrierte deutsche Flora (Illustrated German Flora) with the first edition 1869–1871. Evidence has been found that the author of this work was Hermann Wagner of Weißenfels who was a prolific writer especially of Natural History books for young people. In recent times even a third author, the geographer Hermann Wagner (1840–1929), has been claimed as author for the Flora. This is certainly a mistake
Dom Pedro II e Wagner
ABSTRACT
Dom Pedro II and Wagner. v. 19, n. 2, p. 215-232, jul./dez. 1991
Based on the autobiography of Wagner and the correspondence of Dom Pedro, the author evokes the great admiration that the Brazilian Emperor had for the German composer, including his having contributed financially to the construction of the Bayreuth which is dedicated exclusively to Wagner´s music, and having attended its inauguration in the company of the German Emperor. The author describes how Dom Pedro contributed indirectly to the thematic choice of the opera Tristão e Isolda, and led the composer to begin to write this work whose première was planned for Rio de Janeiro and dedicated to the Brazilian Emperor. The author comments on the motives which led Wagner to undertake such a project and analyses the errors caused by the precarious conditions of communication at the time, as well as the factors that impeded Wagner´s visit to Brazil.

Richard Wagner and Organ
The Czech organist Michael Bártek presents the thesis Richard Wagner and the organ. Penetration of the Work of the Genius from Bayreuth into the Music for Organ as a graduate master thesis in studies on musical faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
This thesis concerns itself with the relationship between Richard Wagner and the organ, a relation which is, despite no specific composition from the maestro for organ, surprisingly rich, and which seems thus far unexplored. Considering the impending bicentenary of the composer (and the 130th death anniversary), the theme deserves to be elaborated on.
The author reviews the direct relationship of Wagner and the organ, with his influences on composers for organ, as with, for example, the issue of transcription, at first more general, later more focused on Wagner
