Homenaje a Tatiana Lobo
After Tatiana Lobo’s death last February, Istmo’s Editorial Board decided to devote a special issue of the journal to this writer who, though originally from Chile, published the entire body of her work in Costa Rica and who dedicated most of her fictional texts to this Central American country. The dossier begins with Anacristina Rossi’s words of farewell and features four scholarly studies and two videos. Other texts, located in other sections of this special issue, complement the dossier: two interviews, selected opinión pieces published by the author and their analysis, handwritten notes taken by Tatiana Lobo when doing archival research, and a bibliography of published research on Tatiana Lobo. Whether understood as a tribute or read as a retrospective, we hope this contribution will inspire further research on works of fiction that still have much to say in the present and hopefully in the future.
A construção do ethos infantil em Transplante de menina, de Tatiana Belinky// The building of the ethos of a child in Transplante de menina by Tatiana Belinky
Abstract: This article presents an analysis of the ethos inherent to the autobiography of the author Tatiana Belinky. To do so, I considered the author function and the pre-discursive ethos as foreshadowing of an authorial image, giving the reader expectations linked to the ethos of the author before the reading process. In this vein, the media was an important tool for mediation between Belinky and the readers of her works. Some autobiographical events were selected for the sake of the analysis of the discursive ethos. In those, the building of an adult and a child ethos as relating to different discourses could be observed in instances of enunciation. Keywords: ethos; author function; authorial image; Tatiana Belinky
Research-Creation: Don Álvaro, or The Force of the Verse
This thesis documents a Montaje en Verso (Verse-Based Staging) process, developed within the course of the same name in the Performing Arts program at Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. The project took place during the first semester of 2024 and was presented to the public from June 3rd to 6th at Teatro Casa Teatrova in Bogotá. The course aimed to produce a theatrical staging, in this case performed by fourteen acting students under the direction of playwright, director, teacher, and theatre researcher Camilo Ramírez Triana, who guided the scenic approach to the play Don Álvaro o la fuerza del sino, written within the context of Spanish Romanticism by Ángel Saavedra, Duke of Rivas. This thesis focuses on three methodological components selected by the author: 1. Contextual analysis of the play, including the historical background of the author and the story, as well as the author’s biography; 2. Theoretical study of Spanish verse: structure, axis, enjambment, synalepha, hiatus, diphthong, types of intonation, and verse pause; 3. Character creation: given circumstances, metric summary, and interpretation of unfamiliar words. Based on these elements, the work presents conclusive reflections drawn from the creative process, highlighting the challenges and accomplishments encountered throughout the staging

Tese (doutorado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Comunicação e Expressão, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos da Tradução, Florianópolis, 2014.A baixa tradução de feministas lésbicas negras no Brasil me leva a traduzir Audre Lorde, Uses of the erotic: the erotic as power e Poetry is not a luxury; Cheryl Clarke, Intimacy no luxury e We are everywhere; e Doris Davenport, Black lesbians in academia: visible invisibility. Abstract : The lack of translation projects regarding Black lesbian feminist theories in Brazil inspired me to translate to Brazilian Portuguese the following titles: Audre Lorde's Uses of the erotic: The erotic as power, and Poetry is not a luxury; Cheryl Clarke's Intimacy no luxury, and We are everywhere; and Doris Davenport's Black lesbians in academia: visible invisibility. First of all I address the importance of these contributions considering the political, intellectual and subjective upbringings of black lesbian activists, for my translation motivations are intertwined with black lesbian feminist literacy. Later on I analyze my translations approaching Barbara Godard and Sonia Alvarez's theories concerning the critical transformation of the phalogocentrism on feminist writings and translations (Godard), as well as the thoughts on epistemic traffic within Afro-Latin-American diaspora (Alvarez). I then discuss poetry as an epistemology to which the Afro-American diaspora is fond of, which later leads me towards the mythical metaphor of the sexual affair between the Orishas Oxum and Yansã within which I analyze the texts as ancient textual/sexual pedagogies of Black lesbian diaspora. I finally suggest that Oxum and her mirror abebé can be referred to as a model for self acknowledgement, one that invites a person to look inside herself. Once combined with the matrilineal genealogy proposed by Pilar Godayol, abebé rises as a metaphor for Black lesbian theories and their translations, which are wordily shared in the Afro-American diaspora. These entanglements between feminist theories and the metaphorical approaches to the Orisha's myths within my translations allow me to dive deep within myself in order to tactilely and sensibly experience to my own black lesbianism
Tatiana in Onegin’s life. Part II
February 2025 marked the 200th anniversary of the first chapter of “Eugene Onegin” publication. 200 years of the novel’s existence in its entirety is not so far away. There are countless interpretations of the main characters accumulated during this time. There are also separate assessments of them from the poet himself. Meanwhile, the author’s holistic view of the characters is still in shadows. Some important details remain unnoticed. Understanding the poet’s intention is a worthy goal for a researcher. The final part of the study considers all shades of Onegin’s feelings when meeting knyaginya Tatiana. The author pays attention to Onegin’s letter and actions. The reason for the fail of the loving relationship was Onegin’s selfishness
