Evaluation and Microsimulation of Road Segment Performance in Densely Populated Areas Using PTV Vissim ( Case Study: P Suryanata Street, Samarinda)
Prince Suryanata Street is a connecting road between the North Samarinda District of Samarinda City and the Tenggarong District of Kutai Kartanegara Regency. Frequent congestion of all types of vehicles, both entering and exiting the center of Samarinda City, causes traffic jams on this road segment. Additionally, the high population density in the area around Prince Suryanata Street also contributes to the heavy traffic. The traffic problems on Prince Suryanata Street in Samarinda City are now being felt by road users. One issue that further worsens the traffic conditions is the poor performance of the road segments. Therefore, an evaluation of the road is necessary. The traffic flow volumes are as follows: Monday, 9834.75 pcu/hour; Friday, 5911.95 pcu/hour; and Saturday, 5690.8 pcu/hour. The highest traffic volume occurs on Monday due to various school activities and community activities around the observation location. The analysis results show that Prince Suryanata Street experiences high traffic density, especially during peak hours, leading to a decline in road service quality. The current capacity (C) is 244.76 pcu/hour, the degree of saturation (ds) is 1.68, and the Level of Service (LoS) is rated at class F. For the 10-year forecasting, the projected capacity (C) is 6397.44 pcu/hour, the degree of saturation (ds) is 0.95, and the Level of Service (LoS) is anticipated to be in class D
Discourse Network Analysis of Betrayal News Regarding the Presidential Candidate of the Coalition for Change and Improvement on Kompas.com
Political communication is heating up as the 2024 Indonesian Presidential Election approaches. Nine political parties in the Indonesian Parliament (DPR RI) have formed three coalitions: Change and Improvement (Nasdem, Democrat, PKS), Indonesia Maju (Gerindra, Golkar, PAN, PKB), and PDIP (PDI-P, PPP). However, in late November 2023, a sudden shift occurred when Nasdem and PKB supported Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar (Amin). The Democratic Party felt betrayed. This research aims to analyze political parties' communication with the emergence of presidential and vice presidential candidates Amin on kompas.com. Researchers examined the communication network digitally using discourse network analysis (DNA). This method used the DNA approach in the context of political communication concepts proposed by Nimmo, including the Communicator, Message, Communication Channel, Audience, and Effect. These five concepts serve as the foundation for analyzing news related to the accusations of betrayal in the Change and Improvement coalition. This research conducts qualitative analysis, providing a depiction of the digital communication lines between communicators within the political party coalitions, especially those most frequently accusing the Amin coalition of betrayal, and rebuttals from the parties accused of betrayal
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Communication strategy of the Communication and Informatics Department of Payakumbuh in disseminating Covid-19 information in March – August 2021
The Covid-19 pandemic is a situation that requires proper handling so that it does not spread further. Dissemination of Covid-19 information is one of the steps taken by the communication and informatics department of Payakumbuh (Diskominfo) to increase public participation by providing knowledge and changing people\u27s attitudes to be able to take steps to prevent Covid-19. This study aims to determine the form of communication strategy of The Communication and Informatics Department of Payakumbuh in disseminating information on Covid-19 with supporting factors and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This research uses a qualitative approach with constructivism paradigm. The theory used in this study is the theory of diffusion of innovation. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth and semi-structured interviews, as well as observation. The results of the study show that the form of communication strategy is the stages of compiling communicants or communication targets, messages in the dissemination of Covid-19 information, media selection, determining the frequency of information dissemination, the role of communicators, and public response to the dissemination of information on Covid-19. One of the supporting factors in the dissemination of Covid-19 information is that The Communication And Informatics Department Of Payakumbuh’s public relations officer has understood the use of information and communication technology, thus facilitating the dissemination of Covid-19 information through new media, and one of the inhibiting factors is the lack of coordination at The Communication and Informatics Department Of Payakumbuh in managing the website, and the unopenness of hospital management in Payakumbuh in providing information updates on Covid-19 in Payakumbuh City
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
