Aggregates and Sectoral 2 Digit Manufacturing Actual, Potential and Output Gap in Indonesia

    No full text
Most of the current literature focuses on aggregate manufacturing, so if industrialization or deindustrialization has sector-specific components, policies and strategies may not be effective. However, there is currently a dearth of literature addressing diagnosis and developing consistent or integrated analyses related to the components of the manufacturing sub-sector of this process. With the aim of determining whether the typical behavior of aggregate manufacturing occurs at the sub-sectoral level or not, empirically explore the output and growth potential of aggregate manufacturing and sectoral manufacturing in 2 digits in Indonesia. Using time series data from 2000 – 2021 for aggregate and 2010 to 2021 for sectoral, this data exploration also aims to show which manufacturing sub-sectors are following a normal trajectory or premature de-industrialization.Using the Hodrick-Prescott Filter (HP), Band-Pass Filter (BP), and Growth Accounting Approach methods to estimate potential output and output gaps in Indonesia's industrial sector. After that, a decomposition analysis was carried out which was divided into 5 years adjusting the policy cycle and strategy for the development of the manufacturing industry in Indonesi

Dataset for Empirical Evidence of the Causality Relationships between Three Key Macroeconomic Factors in Indonesia 2000 - 2021

The Indonesian economy has been experiencing "deindustrialization" since the mid-2000s. However, the corresponding literature has not developed a consistent or integrated analysis of this process. This study will adopt an empirical approach to simultaneously analyzing three causality relationships: (i) that between the growth of both the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors and economic development in Indonesia, (ii) that between the growth of manufacturing and labor, productivity, non-manufacturing productivity, and the economy in Indonesia, and (iii) that between these developments and the macroeconomy. This study aims to identify and understand the transmission channels of the macroeconomic variables responsible for either the expansion of or reduction in manufacturing activity in the period 2000-2021. This, in turn, enables the contribution of the largest macroeconomic variables in terms of their short- and long-term influence on the manufacturing sector in Indonesia to be determined. Using time-series data from the period 2000 to 2021, the authors seek to identify empirical evidence consistent with that provided by previous research indicating the manufacturing sector constitutes a key driver of economic growth. This study incorporates use of a stochastic regression with a linear regression model and a VECM (Vector Error Correction Model) which involve several time-series econometric procedures such as the unit root test, Cointegration test, Linear Regression, Granger Causality test, VECM estimation, Impulse Response function and Decomposition variances

This study aims to determine the effect of work-life quality and self-determination on work engagement on employees of PT. ALTERRA GROUP. This research was conducted for 4 months from January 2020 to April 2020, the research method used was the survey method. The study population was all members of the employees of PT. ALTERRA GROUP. The sample used in this study was 80 employees with a proportional random technique. Data variable Y (Work Engagement), X1 (Quality of Work Life), X2 (Self Determination). It is primary data using a Likert scale model. Data analysis techniques using SPSS 25.0. with the F test results in the ANOVA table produces F arithmetic (14,146)> F table (3,11), this means simultaneously X1 and X2 affect the Y. T-test produces t arithmetic X1 (3,010)> t table (1,6648 ), it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant influence between the Quality of Work Life on Work Engagement. Then, t count X2 (3,726)> t table (1,6648), it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant influence between Self-Determination of Work Engagement. Based on the results of data analysis, it is found to have multiple regression equations Ŷ = 14.541 + 0.193 X1 + 0.345 X2. Test the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.269 which means Quality of Work Life (X1) and Self Determination (X2) affect work engagement (Y) of 26.9%. Heterogeneous and tissue-specific regulation of effector T cell responses by IFN-gamma during Plasmodium berghei ANKA infection.

    No full text
IFN-γ and T cells are both required for the development of experimental cerebral malaria during Plasmodium berghei ANKA infection. Surprisingly, however, the role of IFN-γ in shaping the effector CD4(+) and CD8(+) T cell response during this infection has not been examined in detail. To address this, we have compared the effector T cell responses in wild-type and IFN-γ(-/-) mice during P. berghei ANKA infection. The expansion of splenic CD4(+) and CD8(+) T cells during P. berghei ANKA infection was unaffected by the absence of IFN-γ, but the contraction phase of the T cell response was significantly attenuated. Splenic T cell activation and effector function were essentially normal in IFN-γ(-/-) mice; however, the migration to, and accumulation of, effector CD4(+) and CD8(+) T cells in the lung, liver, and brain was altered in IFN-γ(-/-) mice. Interestingly, activation and accumulation of T cells in various nonlymphoid organs was differently affected by lack of IFN-γ, suggesting that IFN-γ influences T cell effector function to varying levels in different anatomical locations. Importantly, control of splenic T cell numbers during P. berghei ANKA infection depended on active IFN-γ-dependent environmental signals--leading to T cell apoptosis--rather than upon intrinsic alterations in T cell programming. To our knowledge, this is the first study to fully investigate the role of IFN-γ in modulating T cell function during P. berghei ANKA infection and reveals that IFN-γ is required for efficient contraction of the pool of activated T cells

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
