Rastuća mala i srednja poduzeća predstavljaju ključan dio rješenja problema dugotrajne visoke stope nezaposlenosti u Hrvatskoj. Small and medium-sized enterprises play a key role in generating economic growth. The importance of the sector is especially evident in theemployment share of SMEs, total generated income and export. Today, success of SMEs is more crucial than ever. Expanding SME sector represents the key part of the solution to the long-term high unemployment rate issue in Croatia. Survival and development of small and medium-sized enterprises at the market depends on their ability to successfully compete and adapt to changes in the market and in the society in general. SMEs are highly represented in the service industry sector and a large number of SMEs in Croatia are active in this field. Pappagallo d.o.o. for more than a quarter of a century, Pappagallo d.o.o. has managed to keep its position in the market, even in times of social changes which also reflected in the language service market. Still, as the wheel of social development and social changes never stops spinning, supply of services in the market is continually replenished with new participants, new enthusiasm and fresh ideas, and even companies like Pappagallo d.o.o., with well-established tradition and reputation, need to strive to remain competitive and keep up with current trends in the industry. Therefore, it is crucial for Pappagallo d.o.o. to keep track of innovations and to invest in current teaching and learning technologies and training of its staff. In the future, Pappagallo d.o.o. plans to make effort in use EU funding mechanisms and other increasingly available modes of financing through projects

LHCb results on exotics and pentaquark states

    No full text
The latest years have seen a resurrection of interest in searches for exotic states. Using the data collected at pp collisions at 7 and 8 TeV by the LHCb experiment, unambiguous new observations of exotic charmonia hadrons produced in B and Lambda(b) decays are presented. Results of a search for a tetraquark state decaying into B-s(0)pi(+/-) arealso reported

The effect of acute bladder filling on plasmatic antidiuretic hormone production in healthy adult volunteers

Objective: To assess the existence of a vesical hypothalamic reflex by evaluating the changes of plasmatic ADH levels during acute bladder filling in healthy adult volunteers. Materials and Methods: Twenty normal male subjects aged between 19 and 40 years (average age 31.6 years) were evaluated. All subjects signed informed consent. The subjects had no pathologic blood and urine examination, no cardiovascular, hepatic, renal disease, they were no smokers and they did not take drugs which may interfere with plasmatic ADH levels. A blood sampling at rest condition (time 0) and successively during cystometry in the presence of first sensation, normal and strong desire was carried out. Plasmatic ADH was measured on extracted samples by radioimmunoassay. A one-factor repeated measures analysis of variance was employed to verify the effect of time on ADH levels. The Greenhouse-Geisser and Huynh-Feldt adjustments were adopted to protect against the case of violation of homogeneity of covariance. Results: Statistical analysis did not show significant differences of plasmatic ADH levels between rest condition and bladder filling. Conclusions: We exclude the existence of a vesical hypothalamic reflex and we suppose that extravesical factors may interfere with the plasmatic ADH production during the night

Measurement of the CKM angle γ from a combination of LHCb results

    A combination of measurements sensitive to the CKM angle γ from LHCb is performed. The inputs are from analyses of time-integrated B+ → DK+, B0 → DK∗0, B0 → DK+π− ; B+ → DK+π+π− tree-level decays. In addition, results from a time-dependent analysis of Bs 0 → Ds ∓K± decays are included. The combination yields γ = (72. 2− 7.3 + 6.8)°, where the uncertainty includes systematic effects. The 95.5% confidence level interval is determined to be γ ∈ [55.9, 85.2]°. A second combination is investigated, also including measurements from B+ → Dπ+ ; B+ → Dπ+π−π+ decays, which yields compatible results.[Figure not available: see fulltext.] © 2016, The Author(s)

Diffusive author(s), cohesive author: Analysis of S/N (1994)

This study indicates the ways in which various aspects of the author(s) are brought forth in Dumb type’s performance art, the S/N production. Previous research has suggested a non-hierarchical organization of Dumb type and the absence of a “privileged author” in Dumb type’s collaborative work, S/N. However, the results that I have investigated from member’s interviews on the creative process of S/N along with my analysis of the recorded images of S/N, indicate a different aspect of the author(s). First, S/N was created through, so to speak, the collective ideas of the members of Dumb type. Further, S/N has at least nine quotations from previous performances, installations, and printed writings, besides the work-in-progress technique. Explicating one of the “author functions” as given by Michel Foucault, each text has plural subjects of the author. However, it has been revealed from members’ interviews that Teiji Furuhashi had a decision-making role in selecting the members’ ideas within the performance. Since then, S/N has had plural subjects of creation; however, Furuhashi is one of the subjects of creation along with the “privileged author.” S/N has plural authors (diffusive authors) yet at the same time, it has a “privileged author,” Teiji Furuhashi (cohesive author)

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
