Commentary on muscle dysmorphia as an addiction: a response to Grant (2015) and Nieuwoudt (2015)
Background: Following the publication of our paper ‘Muscle Dysmorphia: Could it be classified as an addiction to body image?’ in the Journal of Behavioral Addictions, two commentaries by Jon Grant and Johanna Nieuwoudt were published in response to our paper. Method: Using the ‘addiction components model’, our main contention is that muscle dysmorphia (MD) actually comprises a number of different actions and behaviors and that the actual addictive activity is the maintaining of body image via a number of different activities such as bodybuilding, exercise, eating certain foods, taking specific drugs (e.g., anabolic steroids), shopping for certain foods, food supplements, and purchase or use of physical exercise accessories. This paper briefly responds to these two commentaries. Results: While our hypothesized specifics relating to each addiction component sometimes lack empirical support (as noted explicitly by both Nieuwoudt and Grant), we still believe that our main thesis (that almost all the thoughts and behaviors of those with MD revolve around the maintenance of body image) is something that could be empirically tested in future research by those who already work in the area. Conclusions: We hope that the ‘Addiction to Body Image’ model we proposed provides a new framework for carrying out work in both empirical and clinical settings. The idea that MD could potentially be classed as an addiction cannot be negated on theoretical grounds as many people in the addiction field are turning their attention to research in new areas of behavioral addiction

Perlindungan Hukum Terhadap Pemenang Lelang Benda Bergerak Non Eksekusi Sukarela di Balai Lelang Swasta
This research aims to analyze the process of implementing a voluntary non-execution movable object auction at PT JBA Indonesia Semarang City Branch. As well as to analyze legal protection for winners of non-voluntary execution movable object auctions at PT JBA Indonesia Semarang City Branch. The urgency of this research is so that auction winners are not deceived by the condition of movable objects when they are declared to have won the auction. And so that the auction winner gets legal protection and understands the legal standing at the time of the auction. This writing is empirical juridical research with a statutory approach and a case approach. The research specifications used in this research are analytical descriptive. The data collection method used by the author is by examining primary data obtained through interviews with employees and assistants to the leadership of the private auction house PT JBA Indonesia, Semarang City Branch, which was conducted directly at the PT JBA Indonesia Semarang City Branch office and secondary data obtained from materials. References. The results of the research explain that the auction implementation at the private auction center PT JBA Indonesia uses a voluntary non-execution auction type, then the auction implementation is also divided into several categories, namely pre-auction, during the auction, and post-auction. There are several categories of legal protection for winners of auctions for non-voluntary movable objects, namely disclosure of information about auction winners, private auction houses daring to take responsibility for errors in auction implementation and special complaints regarding auction implementation

A bioelectrochemical approach to characterize extracellular electron transfer by Synechocystis sp. PCC6803
Biophotovoltaic devices employ photosynthetic organisms at the anode of a microbial fuel cell to generate electrical power. Although a range of cyanobacteria and algae have been shown to generate photocurrent in devices of a multitude of architectures, mechanistic understanding of extracellular electron transfer by phototrophs remains minimal. Here we describe a mediatorless bioelectrochemical device to measure the electrogenic output of a planktonically grown cyanobacterium, Synechocystis sp. PCC6803. Light dependent production of current is measured, and its magnitude is shown to scale with microbial cell concentration and light intensity. Bioelectrochemical characterization of a Synechocystis mutant lacking Photosystem II demonstrates conclusively that production of the majority of photocurrent requires a functional water splitting aparatus and electrons are likely ultimately derived from water. This shows the potential of the device to rapidly and quantitatively characterize photocurrent production by genetically modified strains, an approach that can be used in future studies to delineate the mechanisms of cyanobacterial extracellular electron transport
Physico-Chemical characteristics of shea butter(<i>Vitellaria paradoxa</i> C.F. Gaertn.) oil from the Shea district of Uganda
Shea oil is a vegetable oil obtained from the seeds of the shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa C.F. Gaertn.). It constitutes an important source of fat in food and cosmetics. Although shea oil can be marketed both locally and internationally, increasing demand worldwide for exportable products calls for their certification. Characterization of shea oil is one step towards developing its certification system. In this study, the physico-chemical characteristics of shea oil in different shea zones ofUganda were assessed. Samples of shea fruits were collected between the months of June-August 2007 in the districts of Pader, Lira, Katakwi and Arua representing Acholi, Lango, Teso, and West Nile shea zones, respectively. Seed oil was extracted by Soxhlet apparatus using n-hexane solvent and analysed for colour, refractive index, viscosity, oil content, acid value, peroxide value, saponification value, iodine value,ƒ¿-tocopherols and fatty acid profile. Shea oil content, colour, refractive index and viscosity ranged from 41-54%, orange to orange.yellow, 1.670-1.690 and 2.4-2.8 cP, respectively. Acid and peroxide values ranged between 2.3-12.59 mgKOH/kg and 2.10 to 2.50 meq/kg, respectively. Saponification, iodine and ƒ¿- tocopherols valueswere between 160 mgKOH/g and 192mgKOH/g, 39.21 I2g/100 and 41.37 I2g/100g and 26.3-44.4 mg/100g, respectively. Fatty acid profile for palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic and arachidic fatty acids ranged between 6.52-8.12%, 28.65-30.94%, 55.54-57.63%, 6.18-7.79% and 0.65-0.90%, respectively. Although there was significant variation in the oil yield (P.0.05), the physico-chemical characteristic and fatty acid profile showed no significant variation in the shea zones of Uganda (P.0.05). The fact that physico- chemical characteristics of shea oil from the different shea zones of Uganda are comparable to other high value edible vegetable oils indicates its suitability as raw material for food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. This characterization is a bench mark for monitoring the quality of shea oil from Uganda and can be used to enhance its local and international trade
PENERAPAN GREEN MANAGEMENT SEBAGAI STRATEGI PERUSAHAAN DALAM MENGHADAPI KONDISI LINGKUNGAN
The most significant environmental damage can occur due to the large number of industrial activities. The development of technology and industry has greatly increased the use of natural resources and energy sources. The waste generated is known to have an impact on environmental damage. Corporate responsibility (CSR) in managing the environment can help restore environmental conditions. By using literature study, the author aims to describe the form of green management implementation by The Body Shop by looking at the application of marketing mix that has been done. The author collects secondary data sourced from websites, journals, and news. The researcher found that The Body Shop, both externally and internally, has carried out various activities in line with the concept of green management such as 3R and various campaigns to protect the earth
6σ : An Examination of the Newest Quality Control Program
iii, 38 p.The author discusses his internship place at the Internal Systems Division (ISD) at the Lear Corporation in Dearborn, Michigan. This division deals with the majority of the corporate accounting that Lear does. Final numbers that pass through are organized, checked and rechecked by ISD. Reports are then consolidated and passed to the corporate headquarters located in Southfield, Michigan. The author was involved in the transition of accounting systems from SAP to JBA. SAP was the current running system that had been used within lSD since it began. Corporate decisions were made to switch to JBA due to the flexibility it allowed in its programming. Due to this switch months worth of activity had to be taken out of SAP and transferred into JBA. Lear recently adopted a new quality control program called Six Sigma. This program attempts to help companies fix errors before they are able to happen. To do this the program stresses breaking down complex production processes into basic procedures. When this is done each specific division of the process is then statistically analyzed so that the critical-to-quality (CTQ) characteristics can be located. This identifies where the majority of defects are occurring during the production process. Then, using statistical data, the best possible position or process is chosen. The technical definition of Six Sigma refers to 3.4 defects per million opportunities (DPMO). This is an extremely lofty goal for corporations as large as Lear is to achieve. Most companies operate at about three Sigma. This means they are creating almost 66,807 DPMO. For Lear to successfully adopt Six Sigma it must embrace the program quite strongly. Past implementations of this program at various companies have already proven that without a strong corporate and executive backing, the program will not work. It has also been proven, however, that the program can increase profit margins and save companies millions of dollars if it is used correctly
The mediating effect of gaming motivation between psychiatric symptoms and problematic online gaming: an online survey
Background: The rapid expansion of online video gaming as a leisure time activity has led to the appearance of problematic online gaming (POG). According to the literature, POG is associated with different psychiatric symptoms (eg, depression, anxiety) and with specific gaming motives (ie, escape, achievement). Based on studies of alcohol use that suggest a mediator role of drinking motives between distal influences (eg, trauma symptoms) and drinking problems, this study examined the assumption that there is an indirect link between psychiatric distress and POG via the mediation of gaming motives. Furthermore, it was also assumed that there was a moderator effect of gender and game type preference based on the important role gender plays in POG and the structural differences between different game types
O Organization, Where Art Thou? Tracing the Multiple Layers of Ambiguous and Shifting Boundary Processes in a Formal Organization
In this article, I use an empirical case from a Norwegian transnational maritime company to discuss organizational boundaries and, implicitly, organizational form. I focus on the relationship of the formal organization as a legal entity to its outside world and ask how boundary work toward external actors takes form. My empirical case shows that there is not an unproblematic “inside” that engages with the outside world and, as a result, I question the usefulness of some of the concepts used to talk about boundary processes. To understand the latter, where the boundaries drawn are multiple, flexible, and dependent on the situation, I adopt Bowker and Star’s (2000) concept of “boundary object,” which allows the discussion to focus on boundaries in terms of the continuous work of making a “shared space”, rather than of limits between the various parties.publishedVersion© The Author(s) 2016 ISSN 2245-4217. www.cbs.dk/jb
