program which is designed to fulfill IKU 7.However, the implementation is considered not optimal for the MPP Subject Learning Outcomes (CPMK). The purpose of this study was to determine the circumstances and needs of prospective physics teacher students when carrying out collaborative and participatory classroom learning. As well as analyzing materials and tasks to achieve CPMK MPP. This study uses a descriptive analytical method with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire distributed online with the help of a google form. The sample in this study was 58 student teacher candidates for the Physics Education Study Program, University of Lampung. The results showed that students already had the ability to communicate and collaborate in group assignments, but only a small proportion had the ability to think critically and creatively when solving a case study of educational research. In addition, students still do not actively participate in class discussions, due to a lack of understanding of the material discussed. This is due to the unavailability of teaching materials and learning media that are systematically arranged in accordance with CPMK, the case studies discussed are not examples of educational research. Analysis of the developed materials and tasks obtained details of five chapters achieved for the six sub-CMPK MPP. Based on the results of this needs analysis, lecturers need to develop teaching materials and learning media in the form of digital modules that are integrated with 21st century skills, namely critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication to support the achievement of KPI 7 for the MBKM program.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

An Exploratory Study of Innovative Training, Experiences, and Perceived Teaching Competencies in Pre-Service Physics Teacher Education

    No full text
This study explores how preservice physics teachers (PPTs) confront and respond to challenges in developing core teaching competencies amid the demands of 21st-century education. It aims to understand the interrelationship between innovative training, professional experience, and essential teaching competencies that shape teacher readiness.Using a qualitative case study design, the research captures authentic experiences from ten PPTs at a public university in Indonesia, purposively selected to represent variations in prior teaching experience and exposure to creative training programs. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews that encouraged participants to share narratives of professional growth, teaching challenges, and the use of innovative physics teaching strategies. Interview transcripts were analyzed using Quirkos 3.0 through an iterative coding process and thematic analysis, with credibility ensured through member checking and peer debriefing. The findings reveal three key insights: (1) innovative training provides a strong foundation for professional development and fosters student-centered learning environments; (2) field experiences expose participants to classroom realities such as diverse student backgrounds and difficulties in simplifying abstract physics concepts; and (3) essential competencies, including empathy, creativity, classroom management, and strong subject knowledge, emerge as crucial for effective teaching practice.Overall, the study demonstrates that preservice physics teacher education benefits from a cohesive and reflective approach that strengthens adaptive teaching skills, supports the formation of a strong professional identity, and enhances the quality of science teaching. The novelty of this study lies in mapping the interconnections between innovative training, field experience, and professional competencies of preservice physics teachers within the contextual framework of teacher education

Educating residents around the coastal areas not only involves the central and regional governments, but also all aspects of the community structure. Considering the number of children who are victims of disasters and the lack of integration of disaster response literacy in the field of education, University of Lampung, in this case the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) also participated in educating residents around the coast, especially the South Lampung area, through the field of Education. In addition, based on the results of direct interviews with one of the Sciences Teachers of Primary School in South Lampung, it is known that the unavailability of teaching materials that build disaster response literacy and the weakness of teachers' skills in developing integrated lesson plan for disaster response. Therefore, there was a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) activity for the preparation of lesson plan oriented towards disaster response literacy of junior high school students for science teachers. Through this Bimtek, science teachers are equipped with knowledge about integrating disaster response into learning through lesson plan and learning media
