Fulfillment of the Mandailing community suffrage right in the 2020 regional head election
Get PDFModern society presents a problem where it is increasingly common for minority groups/cultural groups/indigenous groups to show their identity to fulfill their collective right to vote in politics. This study aims to describe the form of democracy that is still hampered because the fulfillment of the voting rights of the Mandailing community is still limited. This research is qualitative descriptive research conducted in the Mandailing community in Kecamataan Sungai Kanan. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The collected data is then analyzed using Creswell's techniques which consist of organizing and preparing the data, reading the data, the coding process or general analysis, the coding categorization process that has been made, and describing the themes into qualitative explanations and analysis. The results of this study prove that the level of understanding of the Mandailing community on the importance of the right to vote is still shallow; this is related because the KPU, as the organizer, does not seriously socialize the political rights of citizens. In this case, the right to vote and be elected. Meanwhile, monotonous activities are always represented by the Mandailing community by representing their voting rights to traditional leaders or elders in the area
Existency of Mandailing Batak Democracy in Maintain the Harmonization of Indigenous Communities
Get PDFEach region must have a history of democracy brought by the elders in their respective regions. The democracy of the mandailing community, for example, has existed and developed for many years, but the democracy of the mandailing community is starting to be threatened because it is affected by globalization. Therefore, this paper aims to determine the democracy of the Mandailing community and how to maintain its existence. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach. This research was also conducted by means of a literature study. The type of data used by the author in this study is primary data and then secondary data obtained from journals, documentation books and the internet. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the existence of the Mandailing Batak democracy is successful and able to remain a bridge and maintain harmony in the diversity that the Mandailing tribe has. This is inseparable from the role of traditional leaders and religious leaders as well as community leaders who work together to maintain diversity and create a unique union from their democracy, and that is capable of developing a country from regional or traditional democracy and achieving the goals of democracy for the welfare of its people.Keywords: democracy; mandailing batak; indigenous people

Get PDFThis study was motivated by the need to strengthen the character of Pancasilastudents amid global challenges and the rapid pace of digitalization that affects themoral values of the younger generation. Civic Education (PKn) has a strategic rolein instilling national, moral, and humanitarian values rooted in Pancasila as thefoundation of the state. The purpose of this study is to analyze the essence of CivicEducation as the foundation for shaping the character of Pancasila students whoare faithful, noble, independent, critical thinkers, cooperative, and globally diverse.The method used is library research by examining various scientific sources suchas books, journals, and national education policy documents. The results of thestudy show that the internalization of Pancasila values in Civic Education learningrequires the integration of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensionssupported by the roles of teachers, the school environment, and the family. Inaddition, project-based and contextual learning models have proven to be effectivein transforming values into the actual behavior of students. Eksplorasi Pengalaman Mahasiswa PPKn UNIMED dalam Mengakses Konten FYP TikTok dan Kaitannya dengan Wawasan Kewarganegaraan
Get PDFPerkembangan teknologi informasi, terutama TikTok, telah mengubah cara mahasiswa mengakses informasi dan berinteraksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman mahasiswa PPKn UNIMED dalam mengakses konten FYP TikTok dan pengaruhnya terhadap wawasan kewarganegaraan. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara semi-terstruktur kepada mahasiswa aktif pengguna TikTok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mahasiswa mengakses TikTok setiap hari, menemukan konten yang edukatif terkait nilai-nilai kewarganegaraan, toleransi, dan hak asasi manusia. Namun, mereka juga menghadapi tantangan seperti misinformasi. Kesimpulannya, TikTok dapat berfungsi sebagai media pembelajaran kewarganegaraan yang efektif, asalkan didukung oleh literasi digital yang baik.
