Get PDFEnteromyxosis caused by the intestinal myxozoan parasite Enteromyxum scophthalmi is a serious threat for turbot (Scophthalmus maximus, L.) aquaculture, causing severe catarrhal enteritis leading to a cachectic syndrome, with no therapeutic options available. There are still many aspects of host-parasite interaction and disease pathogenesis that are yet to be elucidated, and to date, no analysis of the transcriptomic changes induced by E. scophthalmi in turbot organs has been conducted. In this study, RNA-seq technology was applied to head kidney, spleen and pyloric caeca of severely infected turbot with the aim of furthering our understanding of the pathogenetic mechanisms and turbot immune response against enteromyxosis

Huono koulutustaso sekä ulkomaalaistaustaisuus lisää riskiä syrjäytyä, ja on tärkeää löytää toimivia keinoja syrjäytymisen ennaltaehkäisemiseksi. Sosiaalinen sirkus voi olla yksi keino monien joukossa. Sosiaalisen sirkuksen tavoitteet eivät ole sirkustaidoissa, vaan muotoutuvat kohderyhmän tarpeeseen sopivaksi. Circus Maximus -hankkeessa kehitetään nuorisotyömäisen sosiaalisen sirkuksen malli sekä pilotoidaan luontomenetelmien käyttöä osana toimintaa.
Tässä opinnäytetyössä selvitettiin syrjäytymisvaarassa olevien nuorten sirkuskokemuksia Circus Maximus -hankkeessa. Opinnäytetyö on laadullinen tutkimus, jonka tilaajana toimii nuorisoalan tutkimus- ja kehittämiskeskus Juvenia. Aineistonkeruumentelmänä käytettiin havainnointia sekä haastatteluita ja aineiston analysointiin käytettiin aineistolähtöisiä menetelmiä. Haastattelut sekä havainnointi toteutettiin keväällä 2019. Tuloksista ilmeni, että sosiaalinen sirkus on tuonut uusia ystäviä ja joillekin arkea tukevan harrastuksen. Hanke on tarjonnut nuorille läsnäolevia aikuisia, joilla on aikaa kuunnella, auttaa ongelmissa ja viedä nuorten asioita eteenpäin. Hankkeeseen osallistuneiden nuorten suomenkielentaidot ovat parantuneet ja pieni ryhmäkoko on antanut turvallisen ympäristön, jossa on tilaa myös epäonnistua ja yrittää uudelleen
