Drama „Lover“ by Harold Pinter was set on the scene as a final exam of Gordan Marijanović and Matea Bublić, mentored by assist. prof. art. Jasmin Novljaković and produced by Academy for art and culture in Osijek under the Department of Theatre Arts, study of acting and puppetry. In this written thesis Matea is describing the working process on the final exam which is consisted of chapters which are talking about: working on the text, working on the scene and creating a role. On the beginning she is writing about author and drama, chronologically describes the working phases and analyse process of acting reaserch. Through all chapters Matea introduces the reader to the concept of the play, describes the scenography, costumography and tries to bring the character of the play closer to the reader. She is concluding her written thesis by bringing the facts about acquired knowledge through the study and sharing her opinion about characteristics of a good actor
Tamare Kučinović i doc. ArtD. U centralnom dijelu svojeg rada autorica kronološki opisuje faze rada koje uključuju: istraživanje, odabir pjesama, lutkarske tehnologije, animaciju, glazbenu adaptaciju, izradu scenografije i dramaturgiju predstave. In this written thesis Matea Bublić is describing the working process on the play „Knitt, my soul, a love song“, which was produced by Academy for art and culture in Osijek and mentored by Assist. Prof. Tamara Kučinović and Assist. Prof. Maja Lučić Vuković Art.D. On the beginning she is bringing the facts about the project and introducing the reader with historical and cultural information which are important for understanding sevdah as a source of inspiration. In the middle part of this written thesis author is chronologically describing the working phases which are consisted of: research, selection of the songs, puppet technology, animation, music adaptation, making of scenography and dramaturgy of the play. She is concluding by bringing the facts which are affirming the puppetry as a multimedial art form and asserting all advantages that puppeteers possess

Causal inference with multi-state models, applied on estimating the effect of the IUI treatment timing for couples with unexplained subfertility
This thesis examines statistical methods to find the right timing of intrauterine insemination treatment relative to the start of the follow-up of the couples. Intrauterine insemination is a fertility treatment conducted by injecting refined sperm into a woman's uterus. Lots of research has been done on timing of steps within one IUI cycle. However, not a lot of research has been done on investigating if couples should be advised to start with the IUI immediately after consulting a fertility clinic, or wait a few more months to see if the pregnancy occurs naturally during this time. To analyze this problem, treatment strategies are defined in the following way: a couple stays on expectant management until some predetermined time when the first IUI cycle is started, unless they become pregnant before that time. Strategies analyzed involve starting the treatment at 0, 3, 6 or 9 months, or not at all until the end of the analysis, which is 1.5 years after diagnosis. Pregnancy probability for each couple is estimated with a multi-state Cox proportional hazards model. Then, the model is connected to the causal inference setting in order to compute the counterfactual pregnancy probability of each couple in the population. This thesis explores how multi-state models can be used to answer causal questions. To do this, a 3-state multi-state model is carefully connected to the causal inference theory and the assumptions this framework relies on are listed and commented upon. Treatment strategies are implemented through making an intervention on the IUI starting time. Then, a causal inference method, G-computation, is used to estimate the expected pregnancy probability of all couples in the population, given that everyone follows the same treatment strategy. Then, individual pregnancy probabilities are averaged in order to obtain the expected pregnancy rates in the population for each strategy. Methodology combining multi-state models and causal inference is new and only one similar study has been found so far in the literature. Multi-state models are currently used mostly for predictive analyses and it is of great interest to use them to answer causal questions as well. The results of this study show that there is no significant effect of the time the IUI has been started on the pregnancy rate in the population after 1.5 years, but there is significant difference between being and not being treated
Fin de partie - Endgame - Svršetak igre : how much "Fin de partie" is left in the two translations? A comparison between Samuel Beckett’s English self-translation and the Croatian translation of "Fin de partie"
In the field of literary translation, self-translators enjoy more attention as well as a different status than those who translate other peoples works and are granted a special status amongst translators. This master thesis aims to show whether the aforementioned factors influence the target texts of self-translators. By comparing the English self-translation and Croatian translation of Samuel Becketts play Fin de partie, this thesis examines interventions in the source text. The hypothesis assumes that the Croatian translation Svršetak igre by Alka Škiljan mainly shows differences to the original text due to the differing language systems of the source and target language. According to the hypothesis, the English self-translation Endgame will show changes beyond these differences and will thus be more detached from the original text.In a first step, the various texts paratexts were analysed according to Genettes model. The analysis has shown that the paratexts already indicate that, despite his role as both author and translator, Beckett is primarily perceived as the former. So, when acting as a translator, Beckett is granted artistic freedom. By applying Bermans analytic of translation, ten extracts were categorised according to the deforming tendencies model. The text analysis illustrated that Becketts self-translation shows indeed strategies which exhibit artistic freedom. As expected, the self-translation shows more differences to the original text than the Croatian version. The latter, however, showed more differences to the source text than initially expected. The findings gained by comparing the two translations suggest that self-translators do occupy a special role amongst translators and that their translations show more interventions in the source text than those of other translators.vorgelegt von Matea Osrečki-Ostojić, BAEnthält Zusammenfassungen auf Deutsch und EnglischAbweichender Titel laut Übersetzung des Verfassers/der VerfasserinMasterarbeit Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz 2020 21.59
I remember only happy days." Etnography of social memory of war-time medical work
In this article the author examines social memory of war-time medical work and the memory of Homeland war from the perspective of work and workplace, through the concepts of culture of memory and politics of memory. A biographical interview conducted with the researcher's mother and a collection of testimonies of war-time medical workers are the body of the analysis. The author appliea a qualitative methodology characteristic of ethnographic research using the method of comparative narrative reading. The aim of the article is to provide a more detailed insight into the interrelation of culture of memory and politics of memory within the social memory of war-time medical work. The analysis of the contemporary construction of the shared past of war-time medical workers shows the effects this process has on constructing individual and social identities. It shows how individuals are differentiated within the group depending on their memories of war-time medical work. The purpose of this article is to offer a new perspective in the research of social memory of Homeland war – a perspective that considers the war-time everyday life of the medical worker who is constructed both literally and metaphorically in between the civilian and the soldier
The aim of this study is to analyze the translation process of idioms in the first chapter of Le Vaillant petit tailleur by Éric Traduire sans en voir de toutes les couleurs : les phrasèmes défigés dans le roman Le Vaillant petit tailleur d’Éric Chevillard Vanda Mikšić Matea Tamara Krpina UNIVERSITÉ DE ZADAR (CROATIE) Chevillard. In this chapter, the author uses idioms forming one of the underlying networks of the text (cf. Berman, 1991). Chevillard uses some twenty idioms and takes advantage of images they convey, considering them word by word. Translating consisting in (re)make what has been done in the original (cf.Meschonnic, 1995, 1999), the translation has to respect the original intention. How to transfer the image and the meaning of the idioms from one language to another? What translation approaches are available, depending on the degree of opacity and fixation? Our analysis will be based on the works related to (un)set expressions by Mejri (2005, 2008, 2009, 2010) and Mel’čuk (1995, 2008, 2011), as well as on some translation considerations of Berman and Meschonnic. Analysis of the implementation of marketing activities in Zagreb holding
analiziraju osnovni pojmovi i procesi u strateškom marketingu. Autorica smatra da su
dosadašnje marketinške aktivnosti bile dobar potencijal za daljnji razvoj podružnice
Čistoće u marketinškom kontekstu cjelovitog gospodarenja otpadom i brige građana
za okoliš općenito. Problematika ovog rada ogleda se kroz primjenu marketinških
aktivnosti u poslovanju podružnice Čistoća odnosno njihovom implementacijom i
kontrolom.
nedovoljno posvećuje pažnja izradi strateških marketinških planova i kontroli i analizi
This paper is done by analyzing the implementation of marketing activities on the
example of Zagreb Holding within which the affiliate Čistoća operates. The scope of
action encompassed by the said subsidiary is the development of a comprehensive
waste management system in the city of Zagreb. This paper analyzes the basic
concepts and processes in strategic marketing in a concise manner. The author
thinks that marketing activities so far have been good potential for further
development of the Cleaner branch in the marketing context of integrated waste
management and environmental concerns in general. The issues of this work are
reflected in the implementation of marketing activities in the affiliates of Čistoća, and
their implementation and control. The aim of the paper is to determine whether the
marketing activities implemented so far are well implemented and whether they
support the Zagreb holding Group in meeting the Group's strategic guidelines. The
emphasis on this topic was given by the fact that at present, attention is still paid
insufficiently to the development of strategic marketing plans and control and
analysis as the last item in the strategic marketing plan. It is precisely on the basis of
analyzes of marketing activities that can well prepare and improve business
processes in the future in order to achieve the company's strategic goals
