    No full text
There is a high demand for electric batteries worldwide, driven by a growing movement towards environmentally friendly electric cars. As the country with the largest nickel producer, Indonesia can develop the technology of making raw nickel into raw materials for the world's electric batteries that will be supplied until 2040. The large number of these has an impact on the proliferation of foreign investment in Indonesia. This article will discuss the success of the Indonesian government in restoring the post-Covid-19 economy through international forums and bilateral cooperation, especially with China. The analysis of this theme uses qualitative methods to explore the success and impact further. Then, the concepts of economic diplomacy and state economic security become analytical tools to strengthen the author's argument regarding the long-term effect of too much foreign investment in Indonesia, especially cooperation with the Nickel Smelter owned by China

    No full text
This research, will explain about the relationship between the European Network Against Racism (ENAR) and Islamophobia in France. The increasing Muslim population in France over the years, driven by globalization and immigration, is a significant aspect to consider. While their freedoms should be preserved, the challenging reality in France is the difficulty in upholding these rights due to Islamophobia within the majority of the French population and institutional racism (with France Laïcité) that diminishes their chances of obtaining their rights. Therefore, employing a case study data collection technique, this study will explore how ENAR, as a Non-Governmental Organization, takes action to address this issue through projects such as "Muslim Women, Forgotten Women?," collaborations with like-minded NGOs, and partnerships with the European Union, a key decision-maker. Through the analysis of these projects, the author aims to examine ENAR's efforts in combating Islamophobia in Europe and to understand why ENAR may be less effective in addressing Islamophobia specifically in France. With this the Author bring the question "Has The European Network Against Racism (ENAR) been successful in preventing and eliminating Islamophobia in France?

The question of democracy and cyberdemocracy within the expanding population of internet users in Southeast Asia is a prevalent and debatable concern in the region. The phenomenon is perceived as sign of better democratization while also concerned for its political destabilization effects. Recent instances of cyber sovereignty, cybersecurity, and cyberdemocracy in contrasting practical applications indicate the imperative need for an alternate paradigm to comprehend the underlying issue comprehensively. This study employs a regionalism framework to comprehensively understand the issue by investigating overarching indicators of cyberdemocracy and cases of cyberdemocracy in Southeast Asian countries through case study in qualitative method framework. this article uses library research and limited content analysis of academic literature, regional agreements, and material from news media as data sources. Limited content analysis and data triangulation are used to ensure data validity and to acknowledge the data sources’ bias before the findings are analyzed and concluded. The results indicate that Asian values significantly influence the configuration of cyber sovereignty, which integrates the Chinese concept of regulated cyber sovereignty with the Western notion of freedom in the digital realm, resulting in a cyberdemocracy driven by state governments in the region. The research findings also indicate that this state is influenced by preexisting Asian values and the region’s prevalent challenge of digital transformation

    No full text
European Union-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (EUI CEPA) have been held since 2016. This study deduces that regardless of the importance and expectations, technical issues related to the agreement’s draft and non-technical issues, such as Indo-Pacific geopolitics, become major challenges in its discussion. Therefore, this study investigates why these elements are considered crucial for both parties involved, while acknowledging the difficulties associated with qualitative research methods. It argues that the European Union (EU) and Indonesia are strategically interested in the trade talks. For Indonesia, it is an application of the ‘Bebas Aktif’ foreign policy doctrine in which it tries to gain economic and political benefit at the bilateral level with the EU and systemic level of the Indo-Pacific. Meanwhile, the EU trade talks are an essential foundation for setting its foot at the core of a contemporary economic powerhouse while also gaining access to one of the most promising domestic markets. Despite ongoing negotiations, intransigence on both sides and external pressures culminated in a stalemate during the trade talks

    No full text
Research has revealed how China's economic policies influence South Korea's securitization strategy in the context of fine dust pollution between China and South Korea. The evolution of South Korea's approach to addressing this issue is highlighted through the difference in approaches between earlier and more recent studies. Policies such as the Blue Sky Project underscore the practical implications of securitization in international relations, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic cooperation in addressing environmental threats collectively. Therefore, securitization involves transforming social-political issues into security concerns, necessitating extraordinary measures to address perceived existential threats. South Korea has strategically utilized securitization to respond to the fine dust issue caused by China's negative technological impacts. By portraying the situation as a national security problem, this research will examine South Korea's implementation of complex measures, initiating diplomatic efforts and international agreements to reduce fine dust particles' environmental and public health risks. Alarming trends in air quality decline, influenced by hazardous fine dust particle flows and reinforced by media coverage, have propelled South Korea to respond effectively. The significance of this issue is amplified by its environmental and public health implications, creating an urgent need for comprehensive action. In a thorough investigation, this research seeks to explain the intricate interaction between environmental challenges arising from fine dust pollution, media narrative influence, and South Korea's strategic securitization usage

Indonesia is a country where terrorists operate particularly after the attacks on September 11, 2001. There are some terror actions in Indonesia: the bombing of Senen Atrium Plaza (1998), Istiqlal Mosque (1999), the Philippine Embassy (2000), Bali Bombs I and II, J.W. Marriot Hotel (2003), Australian Embassy (2004), Rizt Carlton and J.W. Marriot Hotels. Of these cases, most of the terrorists do them on behalf of religion. A series of the terror actions cannot be separated from the Islamic radical movement in Indonesia which they call as part of a network with religious motivation. The terror actions in Indonesia give lessons that such actions can not be abandoned again, so unilateral measures and inter-agency collaboration in the national level and international cooperation to tackle terrorism threat become important
