Estruturas possessivas: aquisição de posse funcional e posse inalienável no português brasileiro
Get PDFDissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Comunicação e Expressão, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Linguística, Florianópolis, 2010Essa dissertação está inserida no quadro gerativista e tem como objetivo principal observar e descrever de que forma se dá o aparecimento e a estruturação sintática das construções possessivas funcionais e inalienáveis dentro da fala de crianças adquirindo o PB, comparando com a fala adulta, dado que o input contém um sistema não uniforme, ao menos para a expressão da posse funcional. Os dados de aquisição utilizados na presente pesquisa são de produção espontânea de três crianças, a saber: AC, de Porto Alegre/RS, na faixa etária entre 1;08 a 3;07; G, de Porto Alegre/RS, na faixa etária entre 1;10 a 3;06 e R, de Campinas/SP, na faixa etária entre 1;07 a 3;04. Para a análise dos dados funcionais esta pesquisa se baseou, principalmente, no trabalho de Castro (2006), que faz uma descrição detalhada de como se comportam os possessivos funcionais no PE e no PB. Além disso, a autora propõe uma análise alternativa à análise tradicional para o DP, contemplando as estruturas que envolvem os possessivos funcionais, e assume que estes elementos são gerados na posição de superfície, dispensando a operação de movimento. Dessa forma, o possessivo simples pré-nominal se localiza em D, carregando os traços relevantes de gênero e número. Para a análise dos dados inalienáveis esta pesquisa se baseou, mormente, no trabalho de Guéron (1985), que trata de estruturas inalienáveis constituídas de determinante definido + nome, em que o nome faz referência a uma parte do corpo e o determinante pode ser considerado uma anáfora pronominal ou um operador, casos em que atribui a interpretação inalienável e alienável, respectivamente. A autora também trata de construções inalienáveis que colocam em jogo um PP. Essa autora propõe ainda que as construções inalienáveis se sujeitam às restrições de anáfora e cadeia lexical, além da restrição da não-distintividade. Os resultados acerca das estruturas de posse funcional obtidos nessa pesquisa corroboram a análise de Castro (2006), pois desde as primeiras faixas etárias analisadas, se podem encontrar possessivos simples pré-nominais, o que não seria possível se movimento fosse necessário. A análise de Guéron (1985) é parcialmente confirmada pelos resultados obtidos das estruturas de posse inalienável nesta pesquisa, já que, em faixas etárias mais jovens, o possuidor não está presente na sentença em que se encontra o possuído, ferindo as restrições propostas pela autora.This thesis is embedded in the generative framework and main objective is to observe and describe how it gives the appearance and syntactic structure of possessive constructions in functional and inalienable rights of speech of children acquiring the PB, compared to adult speech as the input contains a non-uniform, at least for the expression of functional ownership. The data acquisition used in this research are spontaneous production of three children, namely: AC, Porto Alegre / RS, aged 1;08-3;07; G, Porto Alegre / RS, aged between 1;10-3;06 and R, Campinas / SP, aged 1;07-3;04. For the analysis of functional data this research was based mainly on the work of Castro (2006), which gives a detailed description of how they behave possessives functional PE and PB. Furthermore, the author suggests an alternative to the traditional to the DP, taking in the structures surrounding the possessive function, and assumes that these elements are generated in the position of the surface, eliminating the operation of motion. Thus, the possessive simple pre-nominal is located in D, carrying traits relevant to gender and number. For data analysis inalienable this research was based, especially in the work of Guéron (1985), which is inalienable structures consist of determining set + name, where the name refers to a body part and the determinant can be considered a pronominal anaphora or an operator, where it attaches to the interpretation inalienable and alienable, respectively. The author also deals with building rights which bring into play a PP. This author also suggests that the inalienable constructions are subject to restrictions on anaphora and lexical chain, and the restriction of non-distinctiveness. The results about the functional ownership structures obtained in this study corroborate the analysis of Castro (2006), because from the earliest ages analyzed, can be found possessive simple pre-nominal, which would not be possible if the movement was necessary. Analysis of Guéron (1985) is partially supported by the results of inalienable possession structures in this study, as in younger age groups, the possessor is not present in the sentence you are in the possession, hurting the restrictions proposed by the author

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
The notion of (inter)discursive competence as the theoretical articulator between concepts of an ideological nature (interdiscourse) and of a cognitive nature (pre-discourse)
Get PDFEn este artículo pretendo demostrar la productividad de articular en una teoría del discurso dos conceptos de diferente naturaleza, uno de naturaleza ideológica y otro de naturaleza cognitiva. Más concretamente, pretendo demostrar la viabilidad de articular los conceptos de interdiscurso (MAINGUENEAU, 2008) y pre-discurso (PAVEAU, 2013), asumiendo la noción de competencia (inter) discursiva (MAINGUENEAU, 2008) como el gran articulador teórico que permite asociar, de manera congruente, estos dos conceptos. Una de las aportaciones del artículo será demostrar la productividad de tender puentes entre una teoría del discurso basada en la relación entre lenguaje e historia y una teoría del discurso que incorpora, en la explicación de su funcionamiento, una dimensión cognitiva.In this paper, I intend to demonstrate the productivity of articulating in a discourse theory two concepts which have distinct natures – one is of an ideological nature, the other is of a cognitive nature. More specifically, I intend to demonstrate the possibility of articulating the concepts of interdiscourse (MAINGUENEAU, 2008) and pre-discourse (PAVEAU, 2013), assuming the notion of (inter)discursive competence (MAINGUENEAU, 2008) as the great theoretical articulator which allows these two concepts to be congruently associated. One of the contributions of this paper will be to demonstrate the productivity of bridging the gap between a theorization about the discourse based on the relation between language and history and a theorization about discourse that incorporates a cognitive dimension in the explanation of its functioning.Neste artigo, pretendo demonstrar a produtividade de se articular em uma teoria do discurso dois conceitos de naturezas distintas – um de natureza ideológica, outro de natureza cognitiva. Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
