The Multimodality of Corrective Feedback in Tandem Interactions (with Camille Debras - 1st author- and Sylwia Scheuer)
No full textInternational audienceLanguage tandem interactions provide a unique collaborative learning environment, as each participant takes turns being the native and the non-native side of the dialogue (Brammerts & Calvert, 2003, ). Although corrective feedback (CF) has received considerable attention in SLA literature (Lyster & Ranta, 1997, , Sheen & Ellis, 2011, ), relatively little is known about CF occurring in these non-institutional peer-to-peer native/non-native interactions. We hypothesize that participants will mobilize resources that they share despite their different mother tongues and L1 cultures, namely non-verbal ones (prosody, gestures). Based on the qualitative yet systematic analysis in ELAN of 4 video recordings of interactions between French and English native speakers from the SITAF corpus (Horgues & Scheuer, 2013), we analyze CF focus, CF type, and the multimodal resources used for CF. Our study shows that CF is a highly multimodal activity (more than 86% of the time), identifies the main non-verbal resources used for CF request, provision and uptake and analyses the participants’ consistent idiosyncratic multimodal CF strategies

“Vicinity Known and Tamed”: Warsaw in Cwaniary by Sylwia Chutnik
No full textThe articles analyzes the poetics in Sylwia Chutnik’s Cwaniary. It is the audacious parody of urban courtyard ballad about four Warsaw feminist scallywags (Polish: ‘cwaniary’) who fist-fight to take control in the city. The author of the article demonstrates that Warsaw is not merely the novel’s background scenery but also its main character. By analyzing the poetics of the city in the context of Chutnik’s metatextual remarks and her city guide Warszawa Kobiet (Women’s Warsaw) the author concentrates on the function of description to evoke the Warsaw genius loci. It is in the descriptive parts of the book that the writer particularly demonstrates her fascination with the city, which she herself calls ‘sickness’. Writing across discourses: emancipatory potential of Sylwia Chutnik’s prose
No full textThe article analyses the ways in which Sylwia Chutnik uses the category of space to break cognitive schemes and stop the reproduction of discourses which support them. Thanks to “anthropological shift of perspective” (T. Rakowski), warm irony and empathy the author of Pocket Atlas of Women (Kieszonkowy atlas kobiet) shows the lives of people “without a voice” and their inner world full of existential tensions. At the same time, the narrative strategy of Chutnik supports undermining and reinterpreting of the dominant cultural patterns, explores the phenomenon of exclusion and looking for points of subversive character that enables to go beyond fossilized and objectified paradigms
Female View of Polish History in the Novels by Sylwia Chutnik
No full textTato bakalářská práce má porovnat, jakým způsobem se liší náhled na polské dějiny v literárních prózách polské spisovatelky Sylwie Chutnik a popis dějin v běžných historických dílech. Cílem práce je ukázat prostřednictvím analýzy literárních děl specifiku ženského pohledu.
V teoretické části se věnuji životopisu a literární tvorbě Sylwie Chutnik. Dále vysvětluji pojmy jako je feminismus, který ovlivňuje samotnou tvorbu autorky, a také herstorii neboli ženskou historii.
V praktické části se zaměřuji na konkrétní událost z dějin Polska varšavské povstání. Nejprve jak ho popisují historické publikace a poté jak o něm píše Sylwia Chutnik ve čtyřech svých prózách.The aim of this thesis is a comparison of perspective on the Polish history in literary proses of Polish writer Sylwie Chutnik and a description of history in ordinary historical works. The thesis shows a specific female perspective through analysis of literary works.
The theoretic part is devoted to biography and literary works of Sylwia Chutnik. Further there are explain concepts such as a feminism, which affects a creation of the author, and herstorie or the female history.
The practical part is focused on specific events of the Polish history the Warsaw uprising. Rehabilitation of Voice and Speech Disorders with the Original Method of Artistic Speech Therapy
No full textThe article focuses on the methods of vocal and speech rehabilitation developed by the author and based on her substantial experience and research into a strategy leading to maximum improvement or elimination of the disorders in particular patients and their medical conditions. What defines the scope of application of this approach, which the author named “artistic logopedics,” is the presentation of disorders resulting from the diseases in question. Moreover, the paper explains a method of activating the neuromotor areas of the face through the attachments of the levator labii superioris muscle and eliciting subsequent reactions in the movable articulators, which, together with the immovable articulators, lead to the strengthening of sound through the resonators of the nasopharynx. The author also describes the method of diaphragmatic breathing and the ability to control the airflow by conscious breath‑holding in the inspiratory position followed by suspending the sound in the resonators. This respiratory system is beneficial in both mastering the use of the voice professionally and healthy voice emission.Tematyką artykułu jest sposób rehabilitacji zaburzeń głosu i mowy opracowany przez autorkę na podstawie wieloletnich doświadczeń i analitycznych dociekań w praktyce dążenia do uzyskania maksymalnej poprawy lub usunięcia zaburzenia występującego u określonego pacjenta w danej jednostce chorobowej, którą nazwała metodą logopedii artystycznej. Prezentacja zaburzeń wynikających z omówionych chorób wyznacza obszar oddziaływania tej metody. Omówiony został sposób aktywizacji obszarów neuromotorycznych twarzy przez przyczepy mięśni czworokątnych wargi górnej i wywołanie kolejnych reakcji w ruchomych częściach artykulatorów, które wraz z artykulatorami nieruchomymi prowadzą do wzmocnienia dźwięku przez rezonatory nasady. Wyjaśniony został sposób oddychania torem żebrowo‑przeponowo‑brzusznym i umiejętność operowania strumieniem powietrza przez świadome zatrzymanie pozycji wdechowej, a następnie podparcie dźwięku wysłanego do rezonatorów. Ten system oddechowy prowadzi zarówno do mistrzowskiego posługiwania się głosem, jak i do zdrowej emisji głosu mówionego

Streszczenie
Każdy człowiek ma prawo do równego traktowania bez względu na kolor skóry, kulturę, pochodzenie czy religię. Osoby wyznające judaizm przestrzegają wielu zasad. Stosowanie odpowiedniej diety, przestrzeganie zasad czystości, modlitwa, odprawianie rytuałów jest dla nich bardzo ważne. Personel medyczny ma za zadanie zapewnić pacjentom bezpieczeństwo bez względu na istniejące różnice. Zrozumienie najważniejszych wartości, etyki i praktyk judaizmu przyczyni się do zapewnienia profesjonalnej opieki nad pacjentem wyznania żydowskiego. Odpowiednia komunikacja, zrozumienie i tolerancja są kluczowe dla stworzenia relacji z chorym, dzięki której możliwe będzie uzyskanie pożądanych efektów terapeutycznych i polepszenie jakości życia chorych.

Summary
Everyone has the right to equal treatment irrespective of color, culture, origin or religion. Jewish patients obey many rules. The use of proper diet, adherence to the principles of purity, prayer, performing rituals is very important for them. Medical staff is committed to providing patients with safety, regardless of the differences. Understanding the most important values, ethics and practices of Judaism will help to provide professional care for the patient of Jewish faith. Appropriate communication, understanding and tolerance are essential for creating a relationship with the patient, through which it will be possible to achieve the desired therapeutic effect and improve the quality of life of patients.
