Abstract: Introduction: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a critical component of basic life support. Everyone must know the importance of CPR and how to perform the procedure when an emergency strikes. Hence the current study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of video-assisted teaching programme on adult CPR among school students. Materials and Methods: Quasi-experimental research design was carried out with 60 samples who met the inclusion criteria at a selected Government Corporation School. An interview schedule was used to collect the background information and assess knowledge of CPR using a structured multiple choice questionnaire at the beginning of the study, followed by video-assisted teaching on CPR given in the common room. Reinforcement was given on alternate days for seven days, and at the end of the seventh day, a post-test was done using the same questionnaire. The data were tabulated and analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The finding of the study reveals that 54(90%) had inadequate knowledge and 6(10%) had moderately adequate, whereas in the post-test, 31(52%) had moderately adequate knowledge and 29(48%) had adequate knowledge on CPR and also found statistically significant improvement in the knowledge on CPR at the level of P<0.05. Conclusion: The current study's findings concluded that there is an improvement in knowledge of adult CPR among school students after the administration of video-assisted teaching. Hence, education programme on CPR may be actively initiated by health care personnel for all school children and teachers to save many lives. Identifying Disease -Treatment Relations Using Machine Learning Approach

    No full text
AbstractIdentifying the disease treatment relation enables to find what disease a person suffers from and what appropriate treatment can be given to that person. The semantic relation tags namely Cure, Prevent and Sideeffects helps to find out the relationship between disease and treatment. Many methodologies like co-occurrence analysis, rule based methodologies and statistical methods are used in disease treatment relation. However, machine learning is widely used in many applications like protein-protein interaction, extraction of medical knowledge and in health care field. we propose a machine learning approach termed as SMO classification, which uses several features namely medical papers, medical abstracts. Our approach identifies the features namely disease-treat, cure, prevent and sideeffects. The performance can be measured by Accuracy, Precision, F-measure and Recall

Abstract — Data Warehouse systems aim at integrating data from multiple heterogeneous, distributed, autonomous data sources. Due to changing business needs the data warehouse systems are never meant to be static. Changes in the data source structure or business requirements would result in the evolution of data warehouse schema structure. When data warehouse schema evolves the dependent modules such as its mappings, queries and views gets affected. The existing works on data warehouse evolution focus only on schema evolution at the physical level. As ontology seems to be a promising solution in data warehouse research, the proposed framework handles data warehouse schema evolution at ontological level. Moreover, it analyses the impact of the dependent modules and proposes methods to automatically adapt to changes. Keywords-Datawarehouse schema evolution; Multidimensional schema evolution,;Impact of data warehouse evolution I

ScopusTrdizi

Isomers of Poly Aminophenol: Chemical Synthesis, Characterization, and Its Corrosion Protection Aspect on Mild Steel in 1 M HCl

The oxidative chemical polymerizations of three isomers of aminophenol, ortho, meta, and para (PoAP, PmAP, and PpAP), were performed in aqueous HCl using ammonium persulfate as an oxidant at 0–3°C. The synthesized polymers were characterized by employing elemental analysis, GPC, UV-VIS-NIR, FT-IR, XRD, and TGA. The corrosion inhibition effect of these three polymers on mild steel in 1 M HCl solution was studied by using electrochemical techniques such as potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. These measurements reveal that the inhibition efficiency obtained by these polymers increased by increasing their concentration. The inhibition efficiency follows the order PpAP > PoAP > PmAP. The results further revealed that PpAP at a concentration of 250 mg/L furnishes maximum inhibition efficiency (96.5%). Polarization studies indicated that these three polymers act as the mixed type corrosion inhibitors

It is no exaggeration to say that literature helps to understand the richness of a language. Though there are many kinds of literature in Tamil that trace the history of thousands of years, it is classical literature that is noteworthy. One of the classical texts, Muthollaayiram, carries the history of the Chera, Chola, and Pandya kings their valour, gifts, the country's greatness, prosperity, etc. It is composed in muthollaayiyiram venba verse and has all the grammatical elements together with woven syllables such as alliteration, rhyme, and harmony. Among them is the reality of words, in the substance of difference in the object of weeping, loss, and movement as states on the basis of delusion, novelty, and fear in the substance of God (leadership) The subject matter of pride and charity has also been explored. Moreover, the innocence and the happiness of reality have also been examined in detail in this article

Value Creation in International Business: Volume 1: An MNC Perspective

Merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions have been well researched for their value creation potential (Haleblian et al. 2009; King et al. 2004; Seth 1990b) and their great practical importance in strategic, monetary, and social terms (Aklamanu et al. 2015; Gomes et al. 2013), particularly in developed countries over the last half-century. Yet, there is limited understanding of the overall relevance and sources of value creation associated with M&As in developing or emerging economies (Narayan and Thenmozhi 2014), though firms are steadily expanding into these markets as a vital element of their internationalization strategy. For instance, despite the fragile and slow economic recovery in many developed nations, the value of global M&A transactions in 2013 alone exceeded US$2.3 trillion (Bloomberg 2013). The strong growth in continents comprised of emerging market economies such as South America and Africa have positively shaped this upward trend. In recent years, M&As have increasingly become common as a relevant medium for foreign direct investment (FDI) in Africa for both international and regional market players. This strong growth has been supported by greater diversification, increased economic stability among the continent’s nations, an abundance of natural resources throughout Africa, and the existence of sizable consumer markets in many African countries (Mergermarket 2012; Triki and Chun 2011). Figure 7.1 presents an overview of the trends in African M&A in terms of the number and value of deals from 2009 to 2013.</p
