Exploring the synergistic potential of Trichoderma gamsii T6085 and Clonostachys rosea IK726 for biological control of Fusarium head blight in wheat
We explore the combined use of two beneficial fungal isolates, Trichoderma gamsii T6085 (Tg) and Clonostachys rosea IK726 (Cr), to enhance Fusarium head blight (FHB) management by biological control. We found no evidence for mycoparasitism or inhibition via diffusible metabolites, but Tg volatiles inhibited Cr growth slightly. Although Cr reduced Tg spore germination and mycelial growth in liquid culture, this effect seemed absent in planta. The BCAs differently modulated defence-related (DR) genes when colonizing roots or spikes. At seven days post-inoculation (dpi), root-applied Cr, alone and co-inoculated, induced a minor upregulation of PR1. In leaves, a systemic signalling response by root inoculation was detected. In spikes, Pal1, PR1, and Lox1 were upregulated by Cr alone and co-inoculated at 96 hours post-inoculation (hpi). However, Lox1 activation was enhanced by co-inoculation. On spikes inoculated with Fg, the BCAs revealed different patterns of DR gene modulation indicating involvement of different biocontrol mechanisms. In detail, Pgip2 was primarily upregulated at 24 hpi in co-inoculated spikes whereas at 72 hpi activation of DR genes was observed only with Tg. Notably, the disease incidence was reduced by 93 % by co-inoculation. In addition, the inoculum potential of F. graminearum on straw was reduced by all BCAs treatments, with ≥ 96 % reduction of perithecia after six months incubation. Our results show the potential of combining Tg and Cr as a more effective and stable FHB management strategy, than by treatments with the individual strains
Literary allusions and linguistic parallels by Nikoloz Baratashvili and Adam Mitskevich (poem Merani and poem Faris)
“Of the Georgian romantics, the greatest poet and the greatest philosopher is Nikoloz Baratashvili” – these words of Professor Giorgi Dzhibladze best express the genius of Nikoloz Baratashvili, who at the age of 26 ended his turbulent and tragic life, having failed to fulfill his dreams because of the physical trauma, unable to embody her great love in reality, although Ekaterina Chavchavadze-Dadiani (the object of his unrequited love) saved his poetry from oblivion: it was she who gave the great Georgian writer Ilya Chavchavadze Baratashvili’s manuscript, thanks to which she actually returned the great poet’s Georgian literature to this time, unfortunately, is almost forgotten. In our opinion, Nikoloz Baratashvili could get acquainted with Faris by Adam Mitskevich through Russian translation. This circumstance led some scholars (Iona Meunargia, Kit Abashidze) to believe that the Georgian Merani was allegedly created under a certain influence of the poem of the Polish poet. Such a view of this issue, in our opinion, is devoid of a real foundation, primarily due to the fact that these two works in their artistic form show a very distant, almost insignificant similarity, while the ideological relationship is indisputable. The poetic spirit of Mitskevich was undoubtedly close to Nikoloz Baratashvili. A. Mitskevich dedicated his poem to the Polish scientist Vaclav Razhevsky, who suffered the same fate as the hero of the poem. V. Razhevsky conducted scientific research in Arabia, where he died. Mickiewicz paints a heroic image of a rider who is not afraid of anything; Baratashvili, on the other hand, describes the despair of his rider, who is in a state when nothing in the world matters to him and who prefers death to life, but meaningful death, sacrificed to descendants. The genius of the author of Merani is manifested precisely in the fact that in the harsh, gloomy atmosphere of his time, he still managed to discern that a person in the future will still win, that the time will come and justice will triumph: there will be a holiday on his street. N. Baratashvili was able to unite reason and faith, and in their selfless, titanic confrontation with blind fate, he saw the highest meaning and justification of human existence. Merani for all Georgian poetry is the same crown as The Knight in the Panther’s Skin by Shota Rustaveli. If classic epic thinking found its fullest reflection in Rustaveli’s poem, Merani is a brilliant example of lyrical self-expression characteristic of romantic [email protected]Государственный университет им. Combined use of Trichoderma gamsii T6085 and Clonostachys rosea IK726 for the biocontrol of Fusarium head blight of wheat (Possibile uso combinato di Trichoderma gamsii T6085 e Clonostachys rosea IK726 per il controllo biologico della Fusariosi della spiga di frumento)

Translating Arboreality, a climate change-focused novella by Rebecca Campbell
The aim of this thesis is to comment and analyse the translation, from English to Italian, of Rebecca Campbell’s climate-change focused novella Arboreality, published on September 29, 2022, in Ontario, by Stelliform Press.
The first chapter will be devoted to the analysis of the book. After a brief biography of the author, a summary of the plot will be provided. We will then move on to a study of the themes addressed in the novella, as well as an analysis of the various characters.
The second chapter will be devoted to the examination of Arboreality through an ecocritical perspective. We will begin by explaining what is meant, from a global point of view, by ecocriticism and what are the purposes and areas of application of this field of literary studies. The focus will then be shifted to what can be defined the Canadian ecocriticism, through the observation of its cultural-specific modes of relationship between man and nature. On the premise that ecocriticism is a discipline of literary studies, we will then shift our attention to climate change fiction, a rapidly rising literary genre, to which Arboreality belongs.
The third and final chapter is devoted to the analysis of the translation, which will touch on a few points. After explaining the identification process of the dominant of the text and the model reader, tenets upon which to orient the translation, we will focus on three specific aspects: prose rhythm, language, and lexical repertoire
The article looks upon some lexical peculiarities of “The Bird Shelterer” by Revaz Inanishvili – the collection published in 1978 (the publishing house “Merani”, Tbilisi). The collection is compiled from the miniatures and short stories. Revaz Inanishvili’s vocabulary is diverse. The words are taken from the real speech, and afterwards breathed new life. Particularly interesting are new lexical units created by the author, composites, which are made through various means. These often serve as a whole sentence, making phrases sound natural and sleek: gasukhebuli, davažk’acebuli, q’elgavsebuli; sophlis c’q’arosthan ħelk’ok’iani khalebi …dganan; cħenic k’iserdagrĵelebuli mohq’veboda; ise ševida šin, ikhac t’laħšerčenil pheħsacmelebze iq’ureboda. Revaz Inanishvili’s language is rich in both widespread phraseologisms as well as his own ones: šegiĵliath, q’uri athħovoth phothlis čamovardnis ħmas t’q’eši? Sanam akh gamomiq’vandnen, am ĵağlis saq’elosavith daundobel sophelši, khusli ar damidgia mic’isthvis, pheħis c’verebze davdiodi dedoph alivith; nuthu vera ħedavth, rom muclebi mogvekh ca thavze; amisthana ħarbi, sħvis th valši nacris mthvleli ħalħi meore arsad ikh neba kh veq’anaze. The author frequently addresses the forgotten lexical units and dialectisms: ise isadilos, gangias gasagisma! Deduna ħan ik’oħeboda da t’učebs busħavda, ħan th valebs abrc’q’inebda; [šeša]... k’edlis ĵiras aak’ok’oles; erthi p’at’ara mimq’udroebuli berikaci amoirčia;...gait’ena vagoni, mič’q’unes gogoc; šeč’ame eg k’erĵi, gaiq’ina da galelečda; čemi švilebis ħelši me q’velafersa var gamorčeuli; mašin gamoiğo čemma k’udianma dedamthilma ħuth asi th umani, nik’olozis phuli, dagunjalebuli… The major part of the lexical peculiarities, detected in the author’s speech, are those providing picturesque characteristic of a subject or a phenomenon
