Potencial do CHATGPT como estímulo para o estudo das ciências da natureza na educação a distância
Full text linkThis study was conducted within the scope of the Natural Sciences Education discipline, entirely delivered in the distance learning (DL) modality, designed for students enrolled in the Biological Sciences and Pedagogy teaching degree programs. The central purpose was to conceive and implement a challenge, leveraging the assistance provided by ChatGPT, with the aim of fostering creativity and active student participation. Through the virtual learning platform owned by the educational institution, students engaged in the exchange of information and mutual collaboration, where the mentioned challenge proved to be a notable increase in participant involvement. Furthermore, it was observed that this initiative facilitated an effective connection between the theoretical foundations addressed in the classroom and their practical application. The obtained results underscore the relevance of strategies aimed at promoting engagement in the DL context, especially in the concerned discipline. The challenge-centered approach proved to be effective in stimulating not only creativity but also critical thinking, contributing to the development of essential skills in the teacher training process in the respective field.
Keywords: ChatGPT; educação em ciências da natureza; educação a distância.Este estudo, foi conduzido no âmbito da disciplina de Educação em Ciências da Natureza, integralmente ministrada na modalidade de ensino a distância (EaD), destinada a estudantes matriculados nos cursos de licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas e Pedagogia. O propósito central consistiu em conceber e implementar um desafio, valendo-se da assistência proporcionada pelo ChatGPT, com a finalidade de fomentar a criatividade e a participação ativa dos discentes. Através da plataforma virtual de aprendizagem pertencente à instituição de ensino, os estudantes engajaram-se na troca de informações e colaboração mútua, sendo que o desafio em questão se mostrou um notório incremento no envolvimento dos participantes. Ademais, observou-se que tal iniciativa proporcionou uma conexão efetiva entre os fundamentos teóricos abordados em sala de aula e a sua aplicação prática. Os resultados obtidos sublinham a relevância de estratégias voltadas à promoção do engajamento no contexto da EaD, especialmente na disciplina em apreço. A abordagem centrada em desafios demonstrou ser eficaz ao estimular não apenas a criatividade, mas também o pensamento crítico, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento de habilidades fundamentais no processo de formação de professores na área em questão.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
APRENDIZAGEM COLABORATIVA NA FORMAÇÃO INCIAL DE PROFESSORES DO CURSO NORMAL
Full text linkNeste trabalho são discutidas questões relacionadas com a formação inicial docente e ambientes virtuais de aprendizagem colaborativos. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida em uma turma do Curso Normal (Aproveitamento de Estudos Noturno- AEN), uma modalidade de ensino pós-médio oferecida pela rede Estadual de educação do Rio Grande do Sul. No decorrer do artigo apresenta-se um recorte dos dados discutidos na dissertação mestrado intitulada: Formação de professores do Curso Normal e o uso das TIC como ferramenta de ensino em Didática de Ciências da Natureza, da primeira autora, orientada pela segunda autora. Aspectos relevantes sobre a formação inicial docente e uma possível colaboração neste processo por meio do uso de ambientes virtuais, ressaltando o papel da colaboração e da tecnologia na formação docente se fazem no trabalho. Ao longo da pesquisa acompanhou-se uma turma do Curso Normal observando as cooperações realizadas em um grupo no Facebook, neste ambiente as alunas realizavam atividades, compartilhavam informações e conteúdos relacionados com o ensino de ciências na educação infantil e anos iniciais. Os comentários que emergiram sobre o uso desse recurso nas aulas foram analisados de forma textual discursiva considerando aspectos qualitativos para compor os resultados da pesquisa. Identificou-se que ao explorar a tecnologia na formação inicial docente foi possível promover a inserção digital das futuras professoras com ferramentas educacionais, assim como, diversificar os ambientes de aprendizagem explorando as redes sociais, de uso popular e cotidiano, contribuindo para uma educação cooperativa que possa influenciar o futuro fazer docente

Full text linkA utilização de sequências didáticas em processos de ensino e aprendizagem tem se tornado um caminho bastante proveitoso na construção de conhecimentos. Esta pesquisa surgiu da necessidade de tornar o aprendizado sobre células mais eficiente, proporcionando um movimento de ensinar e aprender de forma que colocasse os estudantes como protagonistas da sua própria aprendizagem, tendo a professora como mediadora neste processo, assim, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi elaborar sequências didáticas que facilitassem o processo de ensino e aprendizagem sobre as células e seus componentes na Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA). Quanto a metodologia, este é um estudo com abordagem qualitativa, de natureza aplicada. De acordo com os objetivos, é um estudo exploratório com procedimentos de campo, cuja coleta de dados foi realizada diretamente em sala de aula através de observação das atividades elaboradas e como se deu o processo de construção do conhecimento pelos estudantes. Quanto ao ambiente e participantes a pesquisa foi construída numa escola da rede Municipal do Ensino Fundamental II, em Paragominas, Pará. Os participantes da pesquisa foram 30 alunos do Ensino Fundamental II na modalidade de Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA), no período noturno, na faixa etária entre 15 a 30 anos de idade e a professora mediadora. Salienta-se que esta pesquisa é um recorte de uma dissertação de mestrado em construção. Os resultados indicam que o uso de modelo pedagógico com material alternativo contribuiu de forma significativa e criativa no processo de ensino aprendizagem e conclui-se que a sequência didática ajudou os alunos a compreender melhor os aspectos relacionados à citologia
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
